I am not asking people to tell me what sort of deal Royal offered them, that's private. I was more curious if anyone was going to take it considering it's a small older ship. We are already completely booked so I am not able to take advantage of it but if I had the time I probably would have gone. I did call and ask for a price quote. For the "free" oceanview room, it would have cost $464.40 for both of us for the 11-11 6 day.(Veteran's Day week) Yes, it is a small, old ship....but it would have been nice to take a very inexpensive cruise if I could have. From all accounts, they have largely solved most of the "issues" that they had with this ship when it first came back into the fleet. I paid $167 including a upgraded oceanview room and taxes and fees.. I live in Florida 35 min from the port so for me this is a no brainer and I am happy to have taken advantage of the offer! They seem to have fixed all the "issues" with the boat and after watching Michael Poole go twice I feel like I will have a great 4 days! It was only $117 OV cabin or upgrade to a Balcony for another $100, without gratuities, beverage package, etc. I found a flight from DFW to Fort Lauderdale for $240. I almost did it but I decided against it since I have 10 cruises booked and thought I really didn't want to add another one. It was a really good offer, I wish they would have more offers like that. monctonguy Posted September 23, 2016 Report Share Posted September 23, 2016 Hard to say what triggers them to offer you things like "free cruises" or to get into their VIP club etc. I have heard its amounts....I have heard its the machines you use....I have heard its the time you spend on them. I was with a first time cruiser who was offered a VIP package at the end of the cruise from the casino manager.....she had spend less than me on the casino...but had sat for hours and kept playing her winnings......so who knows.... I would take anything they would give me at this point!! firegal2539 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Share Posted September 24, 2016 monctonguy, I have you beat, I have at least 10 key chains, 2 luggage tag holders, I can't even count the drink package cups (of those aren't free) and two tee shirts. Key chains I keep, luggage holders broke, drink package cups are left on the ship and the two tee shirts, can't fit in them any more, so they were thrown away. I don't know why I qualified but another cruise line told me that you have to pay the maximum bet in the machine for a total of 4 hours a day (days you can gamble).
