We stayed their before our cruise 2 years ago and ate some wonderful food before departing on our cruise. On the other hand the food is free on the ship. PRC Posted September 18, 2016 Report Share Posted September 18, 2016 OSJ is full of fabulous places to eat. Inside, sidewalk, rooftop. All very safe and walkable in the evening. WHStoneman Posted September 18, 2016 Report Share Posted September 18, 2016 We will make reservations for Marmalade Restaurant & Wine Bar or Verde Mesa Both are some of the best in San Juan and worth EVERY penny to dine. I believe they do not open until 6PM...and both will take reservations. Each are walking distance from Pier 4 where your cruise ship will be docked. I'm kind of confused with this one.. You can return to the ship if you wish, but I just go to the Parrot Club and have dinner there. We stopped there on our honeymoon 17 years ago and try to make it back as often as possible. The food and the ambience just works for us. You'll need to be onboard no later than 8:30, so it won't be hard to get dinner onboard after you come back if you don't want to spend the money dining ashore.
