bbowers
Just looked in cruise planner for my Jan 24 cruise on IOS, and there are no listings for any of the casino tourneys. I was looking to reserve my spot at the Black Jack and Texas Holdem tourneys, but they are not listed in the cruise planner. Has anyone heard anything about this? Should I be worried that the casino won't even be opened?

Should I be worried that the casino won't even be opened? They have never had tournaments for the casino listed in the cruise planner. Right now there are no talks of casino's being closed.. It is quite possible that there will still be no sailings at all in Jan but that's a different story altogether. Also the casino keeps sending me many offers and they wouldn't do that if they planned on closing the casino.. They wouldn't give comped cruises out if they were planning on having casinos closed.. bbowers
On both of my Symphony and Adventure cruises that got cancelled, I prebooked my spot at each of the tourneys through the cruise planner, so yes, they have been offered before. You could also buy casino lessons and other things through the casino. But they are not listed now.

I did happen to see it on upcoming symphony cruise actually.. But they don't even run the tournaments on all cruises.. For Instance on all my navigator cruises they don't even have black jack tournaments. I asked the casino host why and they said there isn't demand for it on shorter cruises.. So who knows why its not showing up in your cruise planner.. But its not because they are getting rid of the casino. If you want further clarification why don't you call Club Royale and ask them about it?
tonyfsu21
I can see the tourneys being cancelled but I think the casino would be the absolute last thing that RC would consider closing. Much like a Vegas resort, they can put all the bells and whistles they want on that ship but it’s foundation is still the casino. CruisinForABruisin
As long as they are still doing casino royale comp cruises, I'd imagine the casinos are going to remain open. They give those away because they know you'll spend close to the equivalent of at least an interior room in there. WAAAYTOOO
klc317
Part of my job is to go into nearby casinos and work on their currency sorting equipment in the vaults and count rooms. At the ones around here they are open but about half the slot machines are off to encourage social distancing and the tables are also only at a half capacity. Everyone gets a temp check and has to wear a mask (I don't think many keep them on long) MrB and USFFrank
