bryanmp729
What exactly do they consider priority boarding for GOLD members. Gold really isnt that high so do you really get any special boarding? I am porting out of Galveston.
Todd
It really depends upon the port and how many people are within the port and the cruise. US ports seem to be handled different than foreign ports. If I was Gold I would just get in the C & A boarding line and check in. The worst thing they can do is move you to another line. bryanmp729 and J_Keeble
arebee
When I was gold and sailed out of 3 different ports in Florida, never waited more than 5 minutes to get my card and head to the boat. Don't know about Texas.... bryanmp729
Matt
In general, being a C&A Society member still gets you priority over someone not in C&A. Even gold members seem to get a higher priority than non-C&A members. As Todd mentioned, it can depend on some other conditions, but I still think you would benefit from it. bryanmp729

cgsent
Last year out of galveston there were two lines to get through security. C&A above gold and everyone else including gold. Once past that there was a separate check in station for gold only. No one in that line. After check-in we were directed to the side of the terminal with everyone else. C&A above gold had there own area. bryanmp729
Clear Laker
Sailed out of Galveston 3 weeks ago. Was Gold then (we finally moved up). On our cruise 75% of the passengers were first time cruisers on RCCL (making them all less than gold). About 50% of the check-in agents were devoted to C & A members at some level. We arrived at 10:00. Lines were short for all levels of C & A. Very long for the first-timers. It did not help the RCCL had a major delay in getting their check-in computers up (45 mins). RCCL does many things well, Information Technology is not one of them. Once we got in the "Big Tent" they waited until 11:30 to start boarding. They called to Gold Members at 11:50. Truthfully, everyone was being allowed on once they called Gold. It was posted on this board last week that the New Terminal will be open by June 1. Maybe things will be better. Galveston is not as efficient as Lauderdale. Hope that helps. bryanmp729

C&A above gold had there own area. That is generally the case. In terms of check-in, Platinum and above get priority, but once it comes time for boarding, Gold members typically get included in the priority over non-C&A guests. KLA
In Port Everglades, Gold had its own boarding seating area, and was the last group to be boarded behind Platinum and before non C&A members. It was also REALLY helpful for the check-in lines... the non C&A lines are always WAY longer than the ones with any kind of status. It does help to have that 'return' loyalty, even if you are "just" Gold.
DocLC
I find the benefit useful for getting through security, but have rarely found that it saved much time checking in. Sometimes I'll go into the regular lines if there are a number of C&A members waiting to check-in as it can sometimes be faster. Just take a look before you get in line.
