Deenyce
Looking for insight on the RCI policy on reducing number of people in cabin from 3 guests to 2? We are in the 60 day window before departure.

We are in the 60 day window before departure. There are different aspects to your question such as travel insurance, the reason for the 3rd person's cancellation, etc. If you don't have travel insurance, then Royal's cancellation policy would apply. This is where a travel agent could be helpful. I am not sure what sort of stateroom you have, but when we traveled as a three-some, our son slept in one of the pull down bunks. His fare wasn't much, just enough to cover the food and entertainment. So forfeiting his reservation wouldn't have been an issue. Here is a sample of Royal's policy as of June, but I'd check your own booking information to make sure it is accurate. Also check the terms of your travel insurance, if any. The New Cancellation Policy *Please note: some fare codes are non-refundable. 1 - 4 Night Cruises Days Prior to Departure Cancellation Charge Per Guest 75+ - Days No Charges 74 - 61 Days 50% of total price (taxes & fees excluded)* 60 - 31 Days 75% of total price (taxes & fees excluded)* 30 or Less - Days No refund except for taxes and fees * Last Modified: 06/06/2019 Cruises 5 Nights or Longer Days Prior to Departure Cancellation Charge Per Guest 90+ - Days No Charges 89 - 75 Days 25% of total price (taxes & fees excluded)* 74 - 61 Days 50% of total price (taxes & fees excluded)* 60 - 31 Days 75% of total price (taxes & fees excluded)* 30 or Less - Days No refund except for taxes and fees

Also, if you are in a room that slept 3 they could make you change your stateroom to a room that only sleeps 2 so that they will have that triple to sell to someone that needs that type room. Good luck! RWDW1204
Matt
You could also keep the third person on the reservation. No harm if that person does not show up. jticarruthers and ellcee

You will get their port fees back after you sail if they are a "no show". This also allows you the opportunity to find a replacement if someone else wants to join you.
