  1. Seattle, in answer to your questions I would say yes, yes, no, yes, no, and no LOL
  2. As I've said over & over, I wish they'd do 7 nights to Bermuda ONLY. I love Bermuda and could easily envision 3-4 overnights. I'm sure there's a time limit for each ship in port so I know it will never happen.
  3. Wondering who all might be going to Mr Sancho's and who might be heading to Nachi during our Cozumel stop on the GC. As Matt always says "everything is better with friends". I've been to Mr Sancho's and thought it was great, but I've also heard Nachi is great too. I'm open to either one. Let's do this. ???
  4. I use EZ Cruise every time we sail from Galveston. It doesn't get more convenient or affordable than that.
  5. Funny you say that Matt, that's another one I've never understood. I always feel like I waited 6 months to get to these beautiful beaches, why would I spend all that money to avoid the sun ? LOL To each his own I guess ??
  6. Not to be critical, but I'm perplexed by someone opting for a cruise vacation who is looking for things to do outside of beachy/cruisy/adventurous things. Kinda like someone going to a ski resort and expending all their energies avoiding the cold. I don't get it.
  7. I also stay in Webster when cruising from Galveston. Great interchange w countless dining/hotel choices, just 30 mins from the ship for sailing morning. I also use EZ Cruz parking. Sorry to hear about the weather issues messing up your embarkation. I'm usually so jacked up on sail morning that were up and out, parked, and sitting in Starbucks across the street from the ship by 8:30 LOL
  8. 40 minutes until the stragglers get there. 5 minutes of narrated drill.
  9. DFW area here. Gonna be hard setting up a Texas meetup. Texas isn't NYC. It's bigger than most countries. It would be like setting up a "Germany meetup" But if it's here in DFW, I'd be interested, sure. ?
  10. I prefer it the way RC does it. I don't drink soda. I don't eat cookies. I don't watch movies. I don't want to pay for them and then not take advantage. Like the person who doesn't drink alcohol. Call it nickel & dime if you like. I consider it customized expenditure.
  11. I've been to Mr Sanchos. Can't wait to go back. That's my review. I was a bit anxious as it was my first "non RC" venture, especially regarding the return to ship. When we left to get back to the ship, there was a line of taxis that had to be at least 50 or more. All modern, all air conditioned. Service is amazing. Again, can't wait to go back in September. ?
  12. This policy was in place in February on Navigator. Fridge was empty and ready for my water bottles. Loved it. No misunderstandings
  13. While I understand the poster's frustration on repetitive itineraries, here's my view. I only cruise twice a year. So even if I were to stop at the same 3 ports EVERY cruise, that would be a total of 2 days spent in each port per year. I couldn't possibly imagine getting tired of such a pleasant experience after 2 visits each year.
  14. Has anyone begun considering a place to stay in Ft Lauderdale for the GC ?? I'm flying in Thursday, so I'll need 2 nights. Recommendations ? Ideas ? Groupon is offering some places. Not too familiar with Ft Lauderdale.
  15. ok, never mind. I was on cruise planner. I see its a la carte pricing.
  16. hey guys, Is Izumi (on Navigator) included in a dining package, or is it strictly a la carte ?
  17. arebee, Im not much of a people person either sometimes. But you can easily go My Time Dining and get a table for 2 whenever you want. Ive never waited more than just enough time for them to get someone to show me to a table.
  18. Ok, one additional gripe. Wonder if anyone agrees. Out by the pool. I'd actually rather the big screen be off, than what is usually being displayed. Insipid videos of pranks & pratfalls. And other such mindless offerings. Geez. If it's not a movie, or a live major sporting event, turn it off !! Play Caribbean music. Perhaps just photos from around the ship. Or recent/upcoming port stops. Ok, I'm done LOL
  19. I couldn't agree with WAYYYYYYYTOO any more. A simple no thank you suffices. Yes, it is incessant. Doesn't bother me at all. I appreciate the business model of letting me cruise for what I consider a very reasonable rate, and then charge extra for certain things. Allows me to decide what's worth my $$$. Or not.
  20. I wouldn't have brought it up, but since we're on the topic of music,,, maybe its me, but someone mentioned "their audience". I realize they're doing all they can to attract younger cruisers/families, but i still have to believe that their bread is buttered by those 55 up. One thing I DON'T look forward to each cruise is 24/7 Beyonce, Katy, Ferrell, Justin, and all that hip hop crap they pipe into every common space on the ship, and I can't imagine how annoying it must be for the truly older folks. If it were me, I'd just keep it strictly instrumental, preferably island sounds, Caribbean stuff, etc. One man's opinion. :-)
  21. i agree, streaming audio and my Bluetooth Bose speaker did the trick quite well
  22. Ok y'all, we're starting to count down the weeks (days) to the Navigator Group Cruise !! Besides the day we have planned in Aruba, does anyone have any suggestions for simple beach days, easily accessible by cab in the other ports ? I'm sure I'll be at Nellie's Beach on Labadee, but don't have any knowledge of Bonaire and Curacao. Anyone ever been there ? Thoughts ?? Can. Not. Wait.
  23. You pay the total at the end of the trip, however each day's total is "swiped" to insure that you don't go over your credit line and then discover it at the end when it's many HUNDREDS over. You can follow along with that process on the tv in your stateroom.
