  1. I would say it's a safe bet that nobody will sail again until after the 1st of the year at the earliest. ?
  2. It's funny to think that people get so excited about lobster night on a cruise and that at one time lobster was so cheap and plentiful that they used to feed it to prisoners! Yep, prison food! ?
  3. For somebody who has never cruised, they would not understand the feeling of standing on deck, in the middle of the vast ocean with no land for hundreds of miles, looking up at more stars than you can ever remember seeing before and both feeling so alive and so insignificant at the same time. In those moments, I find cruising to be very humbling. A small fish in a very large pond. Albeit a very happy fish.
  4. They should bring bake the Baked Alaska! I want to pretend it's 1979 and I'm on an episode of The Love Boat!
  5. It's the main dining facility for the common folk.
  6. I've always enjoyed many of the non-traditional items on the WJ breakfast buffet, like curries and such. We've never eaten breakfast in the MDR for the simple reason that the menu has the usual breakfast items and is pretty boring in my opinion. Since the MDR isn't nearly as busy during breakfast as dinner, maybe they would have the time to change things up and do more made to order items. You can add a variety of benedicts and omelets to the menu. You have a million ingredients in the galley, why not use more than 4 or 5 of them?
  7. Sticky Buns at Flour Bakery and Café, Boston MA Croissants and Pain au Chocolate at Standard Baking Co in Portland, ME Ice cream at Love Creamery in Duluth, MN Tamales at The Tamale Place in Indianapolis, IN Burgers at Kuma's in Chicago, IL Hot Brown at The Brown Hotel in Louisville, KY
  8. Beautiful area. My wife's grandparents used to live in Bushkill. Enjoy!
  9. Although we enjoy all of the various venues onboard RC ships and have some favorites dishes at many of them, I can't say that any of them would be considered by us as some of the best restaurants we have ever eaten at. That's not a knock on them. They are what they are.
  10. I hope these happen for you. If they do, there's a good chance our Greek Isle cruise will be happening in Oct 2021. But then again, who knows.
  11. Giovanni's is great. Their mushroom risotto is one of my favorite things on board!
  12. Thank you. Oct 2, 2021 on Rhapsody out of Ravenna(Venice).
  13. I would agree with the others that Chops is a better value, in my opinion, when part of the Chops plus one or 3 night dining pkg. I wouldn't say it's Ruth's Chris or Outback. Maybe somewhere in-between. We have always enjoyed it, but have never really been blown away by it. Chops will continue to be part of our cruises, as much for the atmosphere as the food. The quiet and somewhat intimate dining room is a nice change of pace for the hustle and bustle of the rest of the ship.
  14. Great idea and it's too bad it took a pandemic to get here. Although it appears they have been working on it for awhile.
  15. Since we did a L&S of our Greek Isle cruise until Oct '21, we will be spending our 30th wedding anniversary at a nice B&B for 4 nights. Not the same, but what are you going to do. We'll have to wait until our 31st for Greece. It will be nice to get away and relax. Next year will be a busy one for us with our upcoming cruise and our oldest sons wedding. His fiancé is from the Boston area and they are getting married next April in Salem, MA. God willing!
  16. And who said nothing good will come out of Covid-19.
  17. Thanks @Auto. I remember reading it when you did it last year, looking forward to our own cruise, just 11mos later. Turns out it will be roughly 23 mos later do to the world Covid Pandemic. Hurry up 10/2/2021!
  18. What do you feed a panda on Halloween? Bam-Boooo!
  19. Why do raccoons eat out of trash cans? Because grocery stores are to hard to tip over.
  20. Everybody standing shoulder to shoulder for a muster drill might be a thing of the past with the current state of affairs when cruises start up again. Finally, something positive to come out of the pandemic!
