I think it was on the Mariner - I just loved that I knew I like cruising all together and really had a great trip on Mariner

Our first was on Monarch, which was a nice cruise, our second after a honeymoon on Carnival Fascination.  Our third cruise was Adventure of the Sears in Nov. 2002  - and we were hooked.  The Promenade, the itinerary, and most importantly the staff is what hooked us.  Liked it so much we sailed on her 3 more times, and keep discussing it for a 4th after our Jewel cruise...

well wait as people start reviewing that they do not like it and you may really see a delay all together
or them not doing it is what I am thinking now - people really are not liking it

I am surprised that they dont have these machines on all the boats. If they don't want to use them when sailing outside of the USA, just don't turn them on?!

It' so much conveinent to use these machines than waiting in line for bartenders to fill cups which are also smaller. Plus it free's up time for the bartenders I am sure as well.

For all the cost that RCI has for each sailing, I can't imagine cost is the reason why they don't have these on all the ships?!

We always go to Windjammer to get my daughter dinner before we'd go to dinner and I'll tell you there were a few nights I wish we just ate at the Windjammer because their food selection looked better than MDR.

If you gave RC brass truth serum, I have no doubt one of the big selling points of DD to RC was the fact on 7+ night cruises it will encourage people to try specialty dining if you want a sit down meal for dinner each night.

I don't think Windjammer is a bad choice by any means and on days when you are in port and get back late, eating at the Windjammer may be a simpler option.

Good review....in my opinion its always worth it unless you dont drink alcohol, or plan on having 1-2 drinks a day and never exceeding that at any point. Which doesnt sound like fun to me!..lol

Ask if this is an OBC?  I think it can be actually just given back to you as a credit
against your room?   email me directly and I can give you some advise...

Thats funny because I live in Australia and I'd fly to Florida to start my non-stop B2B cruising. I think I'd be happy just cruising the Oasis and Quantum class ships for the first 6 months working on my tan before exploring the rest of the world.

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well! I wanted to go ahead and share my experience with the premium package, I notice it is a question brought up by many and before my most recent trip I also had a few concerns! I hope to clarify a few things for everyone. This is of course my opinion on the topic.

In my opinion the package is worth it....

    1. if you don't plan on spending too much time with excursions
    2. it is your second time cruising!
    3. You have OBC
    4. You enjoy drinking and can see yourself having a minimum of 5 spirits a day
    5. Enjoy trying new drinks, beers, wines.
    6. Short duration cruises (3-5 nights)

To be fair we had $125 in OBC, it was our second time, so me and the gf decided to put it towards our packages, since we didn't really plan on doing excursions this time around and last time we experienced Nassau, we did so off the beaten path and planned on doing the same which didn't take too much time of our day so we were back on the ship sooner than expected, our itinerary also helped, first two days at sea, nassau, and then Cococay.

I thought it would be great to experience our vacation without worrying of overspending on drinks and if we decided to get one of the other packages available and still spend on drinks we probably would've overspent and regretted not getting the package which included non-alcholic cocktails, frozen drinks and the souvenir cup, on top of beer, wine, and spirits, it just made sense to approach it this way!

I am usually up early so I enjoyed drinks for lunch, by the pool deck and anywhere we made a stop really, I also enjoy dancing so I took advantage at night during the club hours and pool deck parties. I suggest to get drinks before attending any of the entertainment (comedy, gameshows, broadway, etc) Its kind of annoying to be signing while the show is going on and disturbing others all together, they also usually take quite a while.

One thing to note, some drinks are premixed, therefore they taste as if there is no alcohol in them, if you mention this, they can either get you another drink or some bartenders were cool enough to add an extra shot, but company policy does not allow them to, if I am not mistaken. Its definitely something to keep in mind, I wish I knew which ones were premixed, I want to say the rum runner was definitely one, the blended ones usually aren't hence you see them making it in the moment.

Also the $50 fee covers the gratuity for the package! Hope this helps guys! any questions post them here, hope that was enough info! lol

    Hi Nikki,

Congratulations on your recent engagement! My wife and I were married on Liberty of the Seas in 2008 in Miami, Florida (the port Liberty was home ported at the time). We had a group of 10 sail with us and the over all experience was wonderful. I do know the process has changed a bit though. Back in 2008 only a marriage officiant could marry, but now I believe that a captain can marry. Also legal ceremonies had to take place either in a US port or while docked at an island. But I believe this has changed too. Now you can have a ceremony at sea in international water. I could be wrong, but I have read this on Cruise Critic.

Royal Romance (now called Royal Weddings) did all of the leg work, which made things very easy. Since we got married in Miami, Royal Caribbean obtained our State of Florida wedding license on our behalf. This is something some states allow, some don't. Most you have to show up in person to get a marriage license. With island ceremonies, you are at the mercy of whatever their rules are for obtaining a marriage license. The first thing to do is to contact Royal Weddings and go over what you want and check on dates, when sailings become available.

And if you get marriage on Oasis or Allure you'll get some amazing photographs that you'll be able to take home with you at the end of your cruise. Ship photographers took us all over the ship for photos!

Good luck and feel free to ask any questions.

Posing with our wedding officiant Marty. She was amazing!

Hi Matt.......new member here but long time lurker.  Just saw your inquiry about Sabor.  We just returned from a back to back on the Freedom last week so have some good news for you.  According to Capt. Thor at one of the top tier events, a Mexican restaurant (not named) is to go into the space where the Crypt is now located when she goes into the much needed dry dock refurbish.  During our first week (Nov 30-Dec 7) we sat in Nassau for two days while divers removed the main shaft propellers forcing loss of two port visits (St. Thomas and St. Martin).  It wasn't a big deal to us as we mostly cruise now for the ship experience since we have been to most of the Caribbean islands on past cruises.
Thought you might want to know what we heard from the man that ought to know!
    Happy Holidays!

I agree with Matt, hard to go wrong there.  We have gone twice, although it used to be free for the chairs and they asked you to spend $10pp in food and/or drinks.  Still $3 for chairs and $15 for the Fun Pass is reasonable. Taxi's are plentiful for your return to the ship.
