Glad you enjoyed dinner.. Yeah in my opinion if people don't mind driving renting a car is the way to go.. Ft. Lauderdale is not a good city for transportation lol. we all rely heavily on our cars. But I totally get you didn't want to drive. I also don't like driving in places I am not familiar with. Glad you are having fun. Cant wait to see some pics from the boat tomorrow.

@mom2mybugs I also like this gastropub called Tap 42.. Its in Ft. Lauderdale and like Tony said I think wherever you pick since we are in summer and not in season you should be ok crowd wise.. Have a great time.

to me it was totally a given lol.. I understand and I wish your friends would of canceled it a better way.. A better way would of been talking to the 4th couple, asking if they want to move, then doing a conference call with the agent so they could call Royal and get the rooms switched before the balcony room went back into general inventory... Its very possible that now that Balcony room is already taken and nothing can be done.. I am sorry you are going through this I totally get why you want one big balcony..

I think they care because they wanted to open their balcony dividers and make one huge balcony..

One of the reasons I like La Bamba is its Half Mexican, Half Spanish.. They have some really great dishes.. I am 32 years old and have been going there since I was 7. The prices have obviously gone up but I don't think the menu has ever changed. Mostly because it doesn't need to. On the weekends its always busy and food is good. Have a great time. Cant wait to keep reading your review.

Honestly I get why you are frustrated and that you are an experienced traveler however, you are not an EXPERIENCED CRUISER. Cruising is a whole different Animal.. Its nothing like airlines or hotels.. One should never use Royal Caribbeans Website to book a cruise.. Their website is horrible but also very confusing for a new cruiser.. I know in this day and age booking online is the way to go but NOT when it comes to cruising on ANY cruise line.. A First time cruiser NEEDS a travel agent who specializes in cruises.. They will be able to guide you in all the ways of cruising. You choose not to do this which is your right but then you shouldn't say Royal was doing a bait and switch. They weren't. you just are unfamiliar with how the cruising industry works.

You will be fine.. Its when drinks are $15 then they charge.. There are only like maybe 2 cocktails that fall into this category.. If on liberty most cocktails are $13 then that's what's included in the package.. You won't have to be going everywhere paying a dollar.. i

Yes I have experience with this.. My mother in law can't basically eat much.. What you need to do is the the day before go to the restaurant and tell them what your needs are. They will then work with you to make something they can eat.. It goes a lot smoother if you give them a day in advance to prepare.. Its a very nice dining experience. Enjoy.

You are going to have a wonderful time! your girls will remember this trip always.. When I graduated I took a special trip just my dad and I to Chicago (my favorite city) That was one of the best trips of my life and I will never forget it and I am sure your girls will have a similar experience. on my Symphony sailing in January before the unlimited was released I was dining in 150.. The table next to me ordered two entrees and it was no problem.. I think you will be fine. Its a great restaurant you will love it!! Order the Tenderloin for 1 or 2.. Its the best thing on the menu!!

Depends on when you go.. I have found some awesome deals for Allure lately mostly because I think people are nervous about the Azipod issues.. I saw some dates where inside rooms were going for $550 a person.. Too me thats a steal on Allure.. So really it just depends on when you go and if you can find a deal..

Also if you did pick a different week to go Could you go for a full 7 nights or only 4 nights? If you could do a full 7 nights I would do an Oasis class Ship.. If you could only do 4 nights I would do Navigator of the Seas because I think it got upgraded nicer than Independence did.. Also what other week are you looking at? There are a lot of variables here lol

I know the answer to this because I am a TA and I get comped cruises from the Casino... There is no benefit to you BUT there is a big benefit to a TA. They will get full commission if you transfer it..

If you ever go on another cruise try out Harmony, Symphony, or a new ship.. The new ships have plugs by the bed which makes it much easier..

@mom2mybugs I just got an email about a free cruise on your sailing from the Casino... What that tells me is ALOT of people must of canceled.. I think you should try to get an upgrade.. I bet if you bid you would get one.. Might be cool since your getting some money back.. Just thought I would let you know.

I Think Disney might be a good fit for you. If you are willing to spend the extra money for the really awesome customer service Disney has then go for it. But I wouldn't write of cruises completely I just think you didn't find the right line for you.. Disney is coming out with brand new ship I think in 2022 You should look into that. If I could afford it I would totally do the new Disney ship.

This is very good info.. Most people were very upset about the needing an adult thing.. I totally think a 14 and 16 year old are capable of riding slides without parents so I am happy this is the case.

Your so right about that.. Actually Disney in the rain in the summer is sometimes nice.. Its so Hot there in the summer sometimes alittle rain in Disney really feels good lol

Thats Awesome that they take such good care of there Star class Guests.. This is actually the way cruising was 20-25 years ago when I first cruised as a child.. The food in the dining room back then was so damn good lol and they even took special requests like this.. If there was something you wanted all you had to do was ask and they would make it special.. Boy I miss those days but its good to know if I could ever Swing a Star Class Suite I would get that again.. Glad you are having fun I am very much enjoying your review!

Your New plans sound great.. The only hiccup I see is when you ask for No Rain in Florida.. That is impossible for Florida in June lol but what you have to hope for is just a 3:00 PM 30 min or so shower thats something you can deal with.. Its the all day rainstorms like we had yesterday that you want to hope don't occur.. But if they do just hit up La Bamba and the Aladdin movie perfect activities for a rainy Florida afternoon.

Well since they are giving you back half the money then sure just Uber or Lyft and don't worry about having to drive and navigate.. I am like you I get nervous driving in a new city.. Thats why I always try to travel with someone else who doesn't mind driving so I totally understand where you are coming from..
