  1. Gabby, I would recommend you report this to the Royal Caribbean excursion department. Perhaps Matt or Doc will chime in with their e-mail address.
  2. Not I. Who did you receive this offer/flyer from?
  3. Check out the Cigar Aficionado blog. Your answer might be discussed there.
  4. That photo is there just for tourist photo ops. The actual rum factory was moved to China years ago so Bacardi can make more money on their rum products! Sorry, couldn't resist that one......
  5. You can disembark when the security line is opened. Hint.....get to the disembarkation deck early and don't use the elevator (it will be crowded with long lines) use the stairs. I have not experienced priority going to RCL organized excursions. Word of caution, if you venture out on your own, be darn sure you will have RELIABLE transportation to get you back to the ship well before final boarding. Be sure to take your passport with you also in the unlikely event you get back to the port and the ship has left. It will be up to you to get to the next port to get back onboard.
  6. We did this years ago and it was quite enjoyable. The Mystery starts in the theater where the murder takes place, but you don't see it take place or who did it. Lots of questions and accusation amonst the on stage actors, the curtain drops and off you go to dinner at Giovanni's. Of course, conversation between the dinner guests is all about "who did it". During dessert, the actors (except the "dead" person) wander among the diners and answer questions. If you ask "who did it?" the reply was "that's for you to figure out, I don't know, he/she had it coming" etc. It was a fun evening and the food, of course was great! I also remember this was about three hours total, but worth it. Hope this helps.
  7. Yeah, that's kind of like you don't always get what you want and you don't always want what you get or sometimes what's fair isn't always right and what's right isn't always fair and today is yesterday's tomorrow.......better ingredients, better pizza, Poppa Johns!
  8. I'm not a cigar smoker but a good friend of mine is. He says "you don't know what you're getting when you buy cigars on board a ship". He explained that, yeah, they may be Cubans, but how long have they been sitting on a shelf or in a display case. If they aren't in a humidor they could be dried out and taste like crap.
  9. Glad to hear you were able to get out and back home ok.
  10. I would not recommend spending ANY time in Jamaica, especially Falmouth! Lots of crime and unsafe areas. Any chance of getting an earlier flight, like a red eye special? If you can't and the flight you have booked, be sure you get RC airport transfers.
  11. I don't think you have to worry about the taxis at the port. From what I have seen, they're pretty much controlled by someone who appears to be in charge. He will fill up taxis and vans with as many folks as possible going to the same destination, ie, Nachi. When you are ready to leave Nachi and head back to the ship, your waiter will arrange for your taxi. Any "taxi shenanigans" will not be tolerated as that will have a detrimental effect on their daily income.
  12. Always knew you Aggies were an adventurous group!
  13. I would still hold off until next year. If you cancel your Nachi reservation now and try to get a reservation next year, it may be all booked up. They only take 100 reservations a day.
  14. This is from the State Department dated 8/22/2017: "Resort areas and tourist destinations in Mexico generally do not see the level of drug-related violence and crime that are reported in the border region or in areas along major trafficking routes." I was in Cozumel last March with no problems seen nor encountered. I also have reservations at Nachi next April and am not inclined to cancel at this time. If conditions degrade and the travel warnings "go south" for Cozumel, then I will rethink Nachi. Also, keep in mind these drug related activities have been going on for many, many years but not in the tourist destinations. Oh yeah, just don't drink the water.
  15. My brother & sister in law will be with us next April on the Allure. He has a Royal Caribbean credit card and has amassed close to 200,000 points. If he redeems a healthy portion of those for on board credit within 180 days of the cruise date, can he use the OBC to purchase excursions, royal gifts, dinning packages, etc on line before we cruise? Thanks and sorry if this has been discussed before..
  16. I really like your positive attitude, keep it up! By the way, some great sidewalk shopping opportunities in Old San Juan for dome knock off designer hand bags.
  17. Matt, Has this been verified for the Allure? Or is this "fake news" (sorry, couldn't pass that one up).
  18. Just sent you a private message........
  19. I find that when you "book " a cruise you go through a coupe of pages. 1st page how many rooms? Next how many people followed by "see if you qualify for special discounts" and you check the applicable "over 55", military, emt, fireman, crown & anchor (fill in your C&A number), next page select your room (interior, balcony, suite, etc), you will eventually get to the actual cost page which will show you a breakdown of the discounts you qualify for.
  20. JT is right on target. I have spoken to RC customer twice about their May 2019 schedule, Feb/March 2018 time frame.
  21. Oh you guys from NC with your Southern sense of humor
