  1. It's really all a matter of respect for the ship, the wait staff and other cruisers. How difficult is it for the men and boys to wear a pair of slacks, golf type shirt and closed toed (dockers, sneakers, deck shoes, etc). For the ladies, something comparable with nice sandals. NO FLIPP FLOPS please! Looking at someone's toes is not appetizing. Oh yes, and if the men/boys want to wear a sport jacket, that's great. Sorry, I'm old school. I remember when tuxedos and suits were required, or you were not allowed in the MDR. Things have changed, for the worse in my opinion.ย ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The fact that it covers both my needed caffeine *and* my alcohol is what sold me. I drink a lot of Coca-Cola, so that alone would probably make it worth it. Throw in the alcohol, and I'm guaranteed to be ahead of the game. It helps that I snagged a BOGO 50% Off sale, so it didn't hurt as bad as it could have getting it for me and the husband.

    Hey TimeRacer,

With a nickname like that I can understand your need for caffeine and Coca-Cola. Did you know that Royal is now trying out a new drink package program? It's a Pepsi/Coke challenge. It includes all the drinks, juice, coffee, etc that comes with the UDP. The catch is the Pepsi/Coke Challenge. Once you are on board, they have the challenge set up where all participants have to do three successive blind Pepsi/Coke drink challenges. If you successfully can distinguish between which were coke and which were pepsi, Your UDP is reduced by 50%. However, if you do not distinguish between which was coke and pepsi, be prepared to pay the full price of the UDP and also be relegated to the bowels of the ship (deck 2) for dishwashing service. Depending on how many choices you had right or wrong will determine the length of your stay in the bowels.ย ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿคฃ

  3. Hi Johnny,

Welcome aboard and feel free to ask any question, questions concerns or whatever. Plenty of seasoned sunburned cruisers to help you out.

We were in St. Marrtens a few years ago with the grands and the parents. The granddaughter was 13 and the grandson was 9 then. I booked an excursion on the Random Wind. Not a Royal excursion, but that was not a problem. The Random Wind is a dual hull catamaran sailboat, I think 65' in length. The trip was fantastic. We anchored up in a really nice cove and had the opportunity to snorkel, float in the water or dive off the deck from the "tarzan swing". You'll have to google Random Wind to check it out. While everyone was having fun in the water the crew was busy getting lunch ready. Grilled chicken kabobs and assorted side dishes. Non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages were served. Both of my grands really enjoyed the tarzan swing, especially the grandson. He would hit the water, swim back t the boat and sneak around the line and cut in front of everyone to go again. I think he managed to get about 10 swing jumps before he got grounded! From there we travelled over to Maho Beach. I'll let you google that. But I will ask, have you ever been less than 100' below a large passenger airline coming in for a landing?ย

Hope this wets your appetite. Again, ask away and have a great cruise!ย ๐Ÿ˜Ž
