  1. Having been on two ships with the Bionic Bar last year, I kinda agree with retiring the concept. We used it once on Odyssey since we had never seen it in action before. The quality of the drink was underwhelming and we never used it again. (I'm pretty sure the robots don't put much effort into the drinks since they're not gonna see a tip! ) At about 3 days into the cruise, it was practically abandoned by guests for the remainder of the cruise. On Quantum a few months later, I didn't ever see it being used.
  2. North Star is available for free on Port Days. You can simply book a time slot in the app. We did this in Skagway and got some beautiful views! iFly also has free slots available. As mentioned, the free experience is shorter, but still fun!
  3. Hello, Candy. Welcome to the boards. As someone who's spouse has to eat gluten-free, I've made a few posts about how well Royal Caribbean accommodates her dietary needs. Here's a good link to one of my posts.
  4. Any initial pre-cruise concerns/requests can be directed to [email protected]. Also, if you require any lactose-free milk, it can be requested on the Guest Special Needs web page. Guest Special Needs | Royal Caribbean Cruises As someone who's spouse has dietary restrictions (gluten intolerance), I can tell you that the staff will do everything they can to make you aware of which items to avoid and have items prepared to accommodate your needs. Your waiter in the MDR will ask about any dietary restrictions on Night 1 and will guide you through that evening's menu to help decide which items you should avoid. From there, your waiter will bring you the next evening's menu at the end of your meal to order any items you want prepared without dairy or dairy alternatives for the next day.
  5. Welcome to the boards, @Aaron B. Please be sure to mention these people on your official post-cruise survey. As mentioned by @SpeedNoodles, this is only a fan site not affiliated with Royal Caribbean. Also, I'm glad to see a new member with a complimentary first post. We often get an influx of new members that join up specifically to complain. (Often about things of their own doing/misunderstanding of policy). In fact, this happens so often that I initially misread the title as "complaints" instead of "compliments"!
  6. @AshleyDillo is correct. I do this every cruise. Just take both Sea Pass cards with you to order a coffee for both of you.
  7. I was just going to suggest this to you, @Art T.. I posted a while back on how to I viewed our GTY cabin assignment using the "Bar Code Trick".
  8. I think you will need to call and have your reservations linked, so you'll need each party's reservation number. I not sure the app is set up for this. I'm certain I've seen it on the website, but, of course, I can't find it!
  9. Well she got the escorted departure at least. And private transportation accommodations from the port!
  10. Interestingly enough, in a letter to upcoming spring break cruisers, Carnival has included this policy that they will be cracking down on speaker use in public spaces. I'm guessing that they are expecting a lot of wireless speakers to make their way on board during this time. Carnival Cruise Line Sends Passengers a Warning (And a Threat) - TheStreet
  11. I'll have to keep a better eye out for these. Rhapsody had a nice free Scotch tasting in the onboard liquor shop that was only listed in the CC. Where else am I gonna get to taste seven varieties of Johnny Walker on the house?
  12. I've never seen a cocktail seminar, but I certainly would be interested in attending one. The closest thing I've seen is a Margarita and Guacamole making class with lunch at Sabor on Freedom. The bartender had some very good margarita recipes with some great tips on how to make them so much better than just using a store bought mix.
  13. I assume that you are talking about Belize, correct? There was a changing area on arrival to use and lockers to keep your stuff. (The lockers have keys with lanyards you can attach to yourself or something you are taking with you.) We changed into our bathing suits and some shoes that we didn't mind getting wet (sandals, water shoes). The walk took 30 minutes just because there were stops along the way for the guide to give information about the area, plant life, and local wildlife. It's not too far of a walk at all along a gravel/sand path. TIP. Get a waterproof phone case for taking pictures inside the caves. It also works as a good tethering point for your locker key.
  14. I think this is a Quantum-class thing. On Quantum last year, we were assigned a starboard side Deck 6 obstructed balcony through Royal Up. A quick look up of the deck plans and web searches showed me that we were right above the Deck 5 smoking area. Thankfully, a quick call got us reassigned to the port side. (No fee since the category was the same)
  15. 2010 was under the OLD points system when an entire cruise was only worth 1 "credit" instead of 1 point per night. With the conversion to the new points system in 2011, your 2010 cruise is now worth 8 points. (1 for the cruise, 7 for the number of nights) This total should be reflected in your total on your account page.
  16. I will second the recommendation to use Seattle Express. VERY reasonable costs and very good service to pick up from many SEA-TAC airport area hotels. If you're lucky, your driver will be "Elvis"! Very personable with some tour guide type info along the way. https://seattleexpress.com/
  17. You should be able to get something at El Loco Fresh on the pool deck, Sorrento's Pizza, Cafe Promenade (both Deck 4), and possibly Cafe Two70 (Deck 5 Rear).
  18. In our experience, spa services I've booked for my wife on previous cruises have never shown up on the calendar in the app. I've wondered if this is because the Vitality Spa is actually a third party vendor doing business on the ships. Not Royal Caribbean.
  19. @CHRIS WONG appreciates your generosity! LOL!
  20. No big wins, but a couple fun events: While on Rhapsody in 2017, we were just kinda wandering machine to machine playing around. After losing $19 from a twenty in a few quarter machines, I cashed out and had a $1 voucher. Not wanting to cash out for one lousy dollar, I put it in a $1 Stars & Stripes machine and BOOM! $360! This past August on Quantum, I took my $6 C&A casino bonus and after losing a little, winning a little over 6 days, I left the cruise $260 up without using any of the cash I brought on board!
  21. Yes. We do this all the time. We let the porters take our large suitcases and my wife's 24-inch airport carryon while I keep a backpack with all our important documents, electronics, and any valuables with us.
  22. They certainly made with some sort of wheat-free flour, possibly rice flour. Not made with almond meal or an egg/cheese mixture. So if you're are looking for a truly "flourless" pizza, Sorrento's does not have that. On our cruises so far, the gluten free pizzas are pre-made. I'm not certain, but I think they may have been Udi's brand pizzas. (I base that on the observation that RC regularly has Udi's brand products on board)
  23. Black & White? Ugh, so inelegant. LOL!
