  1. I'm not sure about this but I bet it would be good in a chai latte...
  2. No need to apologise for the photo-intensive post - thanks for going to the effort of sharing them with us! They are incredible!
  3. You get bottled water in the refreshment package so you wouldn't need both. However, if you wouldn't drink soda everyday, you might be better off getting the case(s) of bottled water, or even bringing your own refillable bottle as others have said, and just buying soda pay-as-you-go.
  4. I'd be interested in hearing about your experience. We really like the look of river cruising but are slightly concerned about being the youngest on-board (we're both in our 30s)
  5. I'm a Brit - the VAT will be included in any advertised prices not added on at the point of purchase like the sales tax in the US. I believe for anything you buy to take back home to the USA, such as bottles of spirits, electronic goods etc, there is a form you can fill in and present at the airport before flying home which allows you to claim back the VAT.
  6. What kind of stateroom have you got? Would be interested to hear if you feel 'detached ' from the sea. I've often heard that about Oasis class ships. I'd like to try one for the amenities, but I like feeling connected to the sea.
  7. I'm planning on doing a live(ish) blog so you can check it out vicariously through me!
  8. Following - we're from Coventry, England and were thinking of doing Symphony this summer out of Barcelona but couldn't stretch to a B2B and the husband wasn't happy to 'only' do 7 days so we've settled for 2 weeks on Indy instead. Can't wait to see what you think of Symphony.
  9. Couldn't agree more. Especially for those of us 'in dry dock' as @JLMoran puts it ?
  10. Following - can't wait to see your pics and read your posts as always. Happy cruising!
  11. Following - it seems like FOREVER since we've had a live blog to follow! ?
  12. On Navigator in 2016, we liked to get up early and go before breakfast. We'd arrive between 6-6:30 and pretty much have the place to ourselves. Set is up nicely for the day. Will try a similar routine on Indy next month ?
  13. I bet food isn't the only thing they were sniffing for in Mexico! ?
  14. It all depends on the climate and the time of the year that you sail. We looked funny 3 years ago doing Alaska in July getting on the plane wearing a sweater and a jacket and it was 90 degrees outside. FWIW, anyone sailing out of Southampton in thw summer months may need a jumper and jacket ?
  15. I think there is usually a separate line for people with reservations
  16. I hope it's also served at Chef's table on Indy next month...?
  17. Points are awarded after your cruise. Can take a couple of weeks to show apparently.
  18. So, I know it's not necessarily RC related but just a reminder for those of us in the UK (or with access to the UK tv channels via the wonder of the internet) that the new series of Cruising with Jane McDonald starts tonight at 9pm on Ch5 ? I'm almost as excited for this as I am for my actual cruise! And by the time the series finishes, it'll be about time for my cruise ??
  19. I LOVE cheesecake but often avoid it when eating at restaurants as it can often be disappointing compared to homemade. I'm looking forward to trying RC's cheesecakes after reading these posts though ?
  20. We've only done one RC cruise in 2016 in NoS round the Med from Southampton but we found all the food to be fantastic. Looking forward to our second RC cruise, again round the Med, on IoS in 38 days ?
