Breakfast and lunch room service was not from the MDR. Free room service for suites includes the continental breakfast and American/hot breakfast from 6:00AM - 11:00AM, regular room service menu is available from 11:00AM - 6:00AM. MDR room service is available during MDR dinner times. I usually tip a few dollars depending on how much I get.

I did some more research, and it seems on another board, suites can order breakfast and lunch from the MDR for  breakfast and lunch when it is open.  This information is a few years old.  I'm still digging.

As for the suite lounge info, thank you!

  2. Hi there...we are staying in our first Crown Loft Suite.  We stayed in a GS several years ago on Radiance, but this is our first stay in a suite on an Oasis class ship (allure).  I know there is free room service, but can someone confirm we can order from the MDR menu?  In particular, for breakfast or lunch?   I remember being able to do dinner, but I don't remember breakfast or lunch.  How does that work?

Also, since we are so close to the suite lounge, are we allowed to take our drinks from the lounge back to our cabin?  Also, is there coffee available in the suite lounge?

I may have other questions, but those were the main ones.  Thank you!

I always do the check-in whether it is just my husband and myself or for others who are traveling with us.  As long as the reservations are linked onto my app  I can get it done for everyone.  Very simple.  I’ll be checking in 17 of us on June 13 for our Oasis cruise!

Can I ask yow you got them all linked?  The only way I know is both parties have to be on the phone with RC and give permission to link reservation.  Is there something else I need to do?

Pretty much anything with a cord on it is banned.  No matter what the sellers say.   Exceptions are hair dryer and curling irons.  We bring a power bank, a cube, we plug directly into outlet that adds more outlets.  No cords at all.   Like a USB universal  adapter.

that's a good way of putting it.  I see the above poster included some with cords.  Ours doesn't have a cord.

  5. You will want to check in at midnight in Seattle's time zone (pacific I believe).  If you use the app on your phone, you can just choose your check in time and save it.  If you use the website, you need to put in your passport or birth certificate information to complete the check in process.

Last year, I tried to check in using the app at 12:01 EST (my cruise was leaving Baltimore) and the app was not updated to take check-ins.  I went over to my laptop and used the website to check in.  I know a couple of other folks had that problem too so if you notice you can't check in on the app, try going through the website.

  6. Correct.  Put it in your carry-on.  If they see a power strip, I believe they confiscate it.  Folks have had better luck with plug in chargers.  I have used mine with 3 usb-c and usb ports, with no problems.  Others are right though, you will not find anything in writing from RC stating any kind of power charger or adapter is ok.  Only those that folks have been able to get on board.

It’s definitely difficult to just find a ride from the terminal to the airport - something you’ll want to figure out ahead of time.

You worry for Galveston.  Will people want to avoid cruising from this port?  I already planned my ride back to the airport, but that’s because I did my research.

Ok, now that I've eaten. What should I do with the tray and empty dishes? Leave in room for the cabin steward to take care of? Put in out in the hall on the Floor, so other ca trip over it? Call someone to come and get it? ???

call room service and let them know your tray is ready to pick up.

I sometimes watch TV with captions enabled to help me follow dialogue when it’s not clear. I spent several minutes pressing every button on the TV remote to try to find some way to turn on captions.

Apparently, not all remotes have the CC button. 🤨 Upon asking, a replacement remote was offered. Why not put these in all cabins in the first place since they seem otherwise identical? (I’ve not found  that this remote gives me any additional functionality with the TV over the originally-provided one.)

Most people probably don't care about this thread, but I do.  My wife is deaf and depends on captions

They do start checking people in - in the terminal you have to go through security and then review your documents etc.. My last cruise I had a 10 am check in time - once those things were taken care of we were in a holding area (with chairs) until the ship was cleared for us to board. Then it was the suite guests that were waiting first, then the Key guests, and then everyone else who had already gone through checkin. I know it sounds like a lot of people, but it was just a steady stream of people going up the ramps to board. And once people got on board and went wherever they were heading first, it was a pretty empty ship for quite a while.

Okay, thank you.  That makes total sense. I remember having a 10:30 check in time for my Enchantment cruise.  We had to wait a few minutes in a holding area while another group (assuming suite, key, pinnacle) boarded first.  By the time, we went through security, documents, and the very short wait in the holding area, we were on board before 11am.  Thanks again!

  11. We booked August 27th (7 nights) and saw fares as low as $411 a person for inside cabins and $495 a person for balcony cabins.  I got a junior suite total for 2 people for $2995.  Prices are definitely up now.  Insides were just $564 and junior suite (2 people) was $3800.  I was eyeing a grand suite for $4000 (2 people), hoping the price would go down.  It's $6000 (2 people) for the grand suite now!

Is Uber now approved to drop off in the port?   I know previously Lyft was the only rideshare authorized to drop off in port and you had to go outside the port to get the Uber.  I had heard that Uber finally signed something with the port this year, so I was curious if that was accurate.

I asked on page 19, in October, and the last I heard is it was not a done deal.  That’s the last time I see this thread talking about it too.  I would love to know if there is an update.

updated to add: I saw a post on the previous page saying on January 3rd, the person posted they were on allure the week before (so last week of Dec), and Uber was still not able to pick up in the cruise terminal

  13. Update regarding Galveston Saltwater Moms.  They now only accept 5 or fewer passengers.  Their previous driver, Stephanie, started her own business called Space City Moms and they accept more than 5 passengers now.

Seems both are really small companies?  I asked Saltwater Moms about booking two vehicles for six people and I was told they do not tie up 2 SUVs for six people.

Just boarded Allure this morning…wow! Fastest boarding I’ve ever experienced in over thirty years of cruising. Never been on an oasis class ship before so was prepared for longer wait times, but from the time my husband’s cousin dropped us off at the (incredible, beautiful, new) terminal it took 7 minutes from curb to getting on the ship. So impressed so far!

Glad to hear it!  Curious what time was your boarding time and what time did you go to board?  (Many are not following their assigned boarding time so that's why I am asking).  Thanks!
