  1. My wife packs like she's going on a 6 year mission to Mars, we didn't have an issues on the Explorer
  2. Last cruise the table beside us in the MDR had that delivered to their table every night.
  3. For a minute there I thought I was crazy that I read it already in the past
  4. Never thought about the flight costs. Just checked some random flights from for Toronto and Buffalo and they are all significantly cheaper going over than coming back.
  5. Never done one, but am looking at something different. Prices are definitely attractive. Last cruise I was talking about it with somebody who had spent like 30 years in the navy and he was mentioning to go east to west
  6. For those that have done a crossing, is there any preference in going west to east vs east to west? I've heard it's easy to adjust going east to west
  7. Good bump, We're on the Wonder in a few weeks and was trying to find this info
  8. I do just in case I get separated from it. Is it possible, well it happened on of first Royal cruise with the kids. Our oldest has health issues, so he can't carry anything on and my wife is taking care of him. We had 3 carry on's (med, oxygen, etc). I could carry two but let my youngest who might have been 10 at the time carry the third. Told him it was his responsibly. Anyhow going into the buffet he cleans his hands at the Purell machine and walks in, leaving the what I asked him to look after there. My fault, I didn't check on him. As we're finishing lunch I can't find the bag. Fortunately it was still sitting there at the Purell when we walked out. Many lessons learned at that moment. one being attaching a luggage tag to the carry ons
  9. Carnival does concern me with that debt. Not that I'm Carnival, but if they go under, their passengers going to other cruise line would really create a supply issue
  10. Never been on Princess, but that Princess plus would probably be something I'd jump on if Royal had an equivalent
  11. Seems to be an article trying to make an issue out of something that isn't. Kind of clickbait on BI. Sure they could include them in the cost of the original price, but then when the price of the cruise doubles, BI will write an article on how cruising is only for the well off. There are ample complimentary dining and entertainment options available on the ship to where you would never have to spend another dime once on board. To say they're "adopting the strategy of budget airlines" is laughable.
  12. Forgot they were reporting this morning. Checked the stock and almost fell out of my chair, then remembered they were reporting.
  13. I can see it for colder climates, it makes sense. Not sure how many kids you'd find on those cruises
  14. I have a buddy who has done this type of cruise a few times. He says it a weird feeling as it's snowing when you leave, but next morning after breakfast you can go in shorts on the deck
  15. Haven’t tried the new menus yet, but will in a month. Looking at them each night there are 2-3 things I’d like from each category, which is consistent to before. Gut feel is I’ll probably be happy with them
  16. I've never put it in airplane mode, just turned the data roaming off.
  17. I’d go with Hawaii and extend to arrive 4 days early. I figure it would be easier to book the icon in the Caribbean later on. Not sure how many Hawaii cruises there are, but I’d think more rare
  18. Sailed over Halloween, for use they had decorated Studio B and did a costume contest/party there. Lot of people dressed up and many costumes were quite good. Not many kids on the sailing though
  19. Here's a situation where Royal could provide a better search. I just looked at the promotion page and it called out Kids sail free*, I can see the confusion. Why not provide a filter checkbox, (i.e. Kids sail free cruises) which filters out the ones that aren't applicable
  20. Koopman testimony struck me in that he wasn't working with Royal at the time, not like he was a an officer on board that day (how the heck did lawyers find him in particular). Reading a cruise law site I see this "Royal Caribbean had tried to counter this aspect of the Wiegand’s case by arguing that Officer Koopman is a disgruntled ex-employee who shares an attorney with the Wiegands, so his testimony should be discredited." Looking at his linked in page he went from a CSO on the ships to a few some smaller jobs, does look like he didn't leave Royal voluntarily, which supports Royal's statement. In the end there has to be some concept of common sense, which this grandfather didn't appear to have
  21. I just went in and did the update now, never got TOS notification
  22. Never had an issue ordering more than 1 thing for the included price. The last few times I went the service has essentially been non existent. As Nessa said you'll only get a few fries or onion rings and ordering more will come at a snails crawl if at all. Last time we went there was a few tables being occupied and us. After sitting for about 10 minutes time for somebody to come take our order , the one table got up and left. The manager confronted them as leaving saying you've ordered you can't leave. The husband started yelling they ordered over 40 minutes ago and they weren't going to wait any longer. Ended up giving JR a 1 on the post cruise survey
  23. Was on the Adventure in the fall and definitely agree, the pizza was really bad. Found Cafe Promenade overall was disappointing whenever we went (after shows).
  24. I like it on the cool side. For the most part I find them very comfortable and sometimes I actually wear a hoodie when walking around the interior of the ship (find the theater always cold). She'll need to cover up. The only exception is I find the Oasis class tend to be on the warmer side. I guessing having do to the neighbourhoods and the door constantly being opened letting in the hot humid air. I find of seas days it's really warm to the point of being uncomfortable
