  1. I had 500 off 1500 on my platinum and gold cards. Used them both, got the 500 back on each card. I had an issue where FCC weren't correctly applied so RC credited some it back to my card. I was outside the effective offer dates, and it got me below the threshold on one of the cards. The way Amex can be with clawbacks I was seriously afraid getting that $100 credit was going to cost me $500.
  2. I am deciding on an excursion for St Thomas (in August) and think the Trunk Bay Beach Break might be it. I was also looking at the Skyride, Drakes Seat and Magens Bay one. (I promise I am not trying to hijack the thread btw)
  3. we typically stay halfway between the elevators midship (as far away from elevators as possible). Then by the end of the cruise we have figured out the direction to go based on where we are headed. To the OP, on past cruises I have researched quietest cabin/deck/etc and made decisions based on what I found. We were on Independence a couple weeks ago and that cabin was the loudest I have ever stayed in. We were on deck 9 and the noise from the music in the promenade sounded like it was being piped into our cabin. That likely doesnt help your apprehension, and I guess what I am trying to say is you may just catch a bad beat. Unless you can talk to someone who has stayed very close to where you are. Enjoy the trip!
  4. I was on Independence last week. I had the surf/stream package. I was able to log into a virtual machine to do a critical work update that took about 20 minutes. Other than that sending occasional email/text it seemed ok. Not blazing by any means but it seemed to work.
  5. we sailed Solstice to Alaska for our 25th anniversary. For more reasons than anyone would care to hear, it was the best trip we ever took. I would echo what everyone else has said, its a different product. Depending on your goals, it might be better than RC. We are taking our adult kids (20s) next week on Independence, and it would've never crossed my mind to go on Celebrity. We (wife and I) are taking Harmony in August for our 30th to E Caribbean and frankly I wish it was on Celebrity. That too is a long story.
  6. we went in December. Cococay beach water and pool water was too cold. I had psyched myself up to not care, drank copiously, it didnt matter. The water was brutally cold, particularly in the pool. YMMV of course.
  7. Zoinks. I can’t recall what we paid on our last (2018) cruises but I’m certain it wasnt what we are paying for our 2022 ones. And our 2022 ones arent what those are.
  8. I would agree with @smokeybandit We are boarding Independence Monday. It’s a bigger family group than we regularly take and we are letting it ride. If cococay gets washed out, that will be a bummer, but
  9. We are getting on Independence this Monday. May be a washout, who knows at this point.
  10. excellent. This answers a lot of questions I had concerning our upcoming sailing. Thanks!
  11. I have seen this offer on Celebrity several times. I had 2 $500 off 1500 offers for RC (one each on different Amex cards) and was able to take advantage of both.
  12. we paid $79 for 4 nighter on Independence next month. Right now it's 72.99 on Harmony in August (2022). My wife doesn't get her money's worth, I tend to even it out.
  13. We did the same thing with our daughter and her friend. Guest services made ‘room entry’ keys for the people not staying in the assigned room. They kept their original seapass cards and had another to unlock the door, if that makes any sense. So they had to carry 2 cards. That was prepandemic so not sure if its changed.
  14. We are going on Harmony in August this year and we got the CBC entry. I think it was $180 pp when I booked it several weeks ago but I would have to verify that. It’s a big anniversary and there are 2 ships there that day, so I figured it would be worth it.
  15. It's $26.16 now for overnight shipping. There were no options to ship different a month ago or so nor earlier this morning. If you need 6 tests I still think it ends up slightly cheaper than 2 pack tests from other sites.
