  1. Independence of the Seas - Feb 8 2016 Enchantment of the Seas - Sept 9 2016 Brilliance of the Seas - November 5 2016 Will be booking 2 cruises for my honeymoon as soon as the schedules are released in early March for October 2017! :D
  2. Hello RC Bloggers! Wondering if anyone has done the Rios Kayaking Adventure in Falmouth? We'll be there on Indy in a couple of weeks, and don't have anything planned yet. My fiance's parents just threw this out as an idea for us as a group of 10 to do during the day, and I'm having a hard time finding much information on it. Thanks!
  3. I was on Enchantment in October this past year - we stayed Deck 2 midship, and felt no rocking. However, the seas were pretty much like glass for the entire weekend and we never felt a thing. I kept an eye on the forecast (here) leading up to the trip to get a better idea. This was mostly to try and get a better idea for whether or not we'd make it to Coco Cay.. the lower the wave height, the better. I think we had a 2 to 3 ft wave height forecast for the weekend. I hope that helps! Never hurts to take extra precaution anyway, as others have suggested!
  4. My friend did it when she was on Navigator last year - she said it was really enjoyable and it seemed very intentionally 'over the top' and cheesy'. However, she noted that some other diners she was with had an incredibly bad attitude and were obnoxious about the whole thing and sort of put a damper on the experience (if I'm recalling correctly). Apparently, at one point, one of the actors had to break character to get them to calm down. After chatting with the actors when the dinner was over, it seems like this kind of thing happens fairly often. I guess it is what you make of it, and depends how much you enjoy that kind of thing!
  5. SO excited to hear this - that's great news. Hopefully Indy and Vision can get there tomorrow as well.
  6. I have read some good things about snorkeling at Coco Cay - as Doc mentioned, you can bring your own gear but it is also available to rent for I believe around $30 if you don't want to bring your own. I believe there are some sunken shipwreck type things that Royal Caribbean has placed that you can check out around the snorkeling area as well.
  7. This far out, I would be surprised if you didn't make it in to traditional dining before your sailing.
  8. Incidentally, the only time I've been to Chops was on Enchantment and I actually wasn't impressed... though, this seems most likely related to the fact that we had the head chef and a couple of high ranking RCCL Executives dining a couple tables away from us. Some of our sides got mixed up/forgotten and we felt pretty forgotten about at times. Chalking it up to bad luck (and a nervous waiter) and looking forward to trying it again!
  9. I think the top range of beers (outside of the specialty Belgians or Fosters that might be in the Pub, as mentioned by above poster) capped at around $6 or $7 I believe - http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/royal-caribbean-drink-prices In my own experience (as primarily a beer drinker and someone who isn't terribly picky about wine), I was perfectly happy with the Select package, though the Wine selection was quite a bit more limited... just a couple reds and a handful of white wines. I'm going with the Premium drink package on my upcoming cruise, but that was mostly because I'm a beer snob and I got really bored with the selection on my last 5 day sailing. :)
  10. Just bought my drink package last night for my February cruise... kicking myself for not buying it a couple of weeks earlier! :D ^_^
  11. This is super helpful - I'm doing the zipline when I'm there next month (EEEE!), and we were wondering last night how it went. Thanks! I'm assuming they have lockers available close by to stash personal items?
  12. If you go in to the cruise ahead of time knowing what's available on board and knowing comparatively how much it's priced on land, you can land some good deals. I've had great luck with perfume on board, and my fiance picked up some Oakleys that were priced same as retail but was happy to pay for duty free. I guess with a lot of things, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I wouldn't have expected that - that's pretty neat!
  13. I cruised in January last year, and can also confirm that the games were readily available on the ship. It was fun to watch the Bengals poolside! Also, on Enchantment in Oct, they had games playing through the day in Boleros for anyone who wanted to see them. I'd have to imagine that the games would be playing SOMEWHERE on any of the ships.
  14. Halloween!! I was on Enchantment for Halloween this year and it seemed like everyone on the ship remembered to pack their costume. There was a huge party in the centrum, which turned in to a poolside sail away party from Nassau at midnight. I would definitely recommend it!
  15. Hello All, I'm currently in the process of wedding planning (and also, waiting patiently for/attempting to anticipate honeymoon cruise schedules) for October 2017. In the process of all of this research, I noticed that Royal Caribbean has a Honeymoon Registry site that you are able to use. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience using the tool, and be able to offer some detail on how it worked for you from a usability standpoint? Would you recommend it? Thanks! :)
  16. If you are looking for a beach, there is Smathers Beach. Though, no idea about transportation options to and from.
  17. Before I embarked on Enchantment of the Seas in October, I noticed that the Oceanview rates had dropped to exactly what I had paid for an Interior. I was able to call RCCL and they let me swap to an Oceanview room, plus they gave us some OBC as part of a promotion they were running at the time. This was even after the final payment date (after final payment, you cannot get an adjustment to your rate but you CAN switch to another cabin category). I absolutely LOVE the ShipMate App - I'm monitoring all of my upcoming cruises with it, and it's sort of fun having all of the cruise countdowns and user photos in one place!
  18. I agree with you on this - They key word here being "Carnival" (was that intentional? Haha!) I remember looking at the back of a Carnival ship recently in Nassau and thinking, "Well, that just looks silly." At the same time, I think the Disney ship we were docked next to in Nassau looked really cool with the clear slide that went through the smokestacks. I guess it just depends on the execution?
  19. Yeah, that's what I thought - Enchantment and Freedom are up next. I was just on Enchantment this month and I know it doesn't have it NOW but since it's getting rolled out to all ships I figured it would be there by 2017. I also noticed the date range too late (May - Sept 2016) on when the VOOM offer qualified for. Still really happy with my booking, it just would have been neat to try it out. :)
  20. Hello, all! I just decided to book a random cruise for January 2017 on Enchantment based on the BOGO deal. While I'm pretty happy with the OBC offered and room I got, I'm curious about the VOOM deal. Should it be indicated somewhere on my reservation that VOOM was included, or should I call to verify that? Thanks! EDIT: Nevermind - I just saw the date range this was available for. Sorry - this can be deleted.
  21. THANKS! :D Okay - I just called and it is marked down on our reservation for the second evening :) Thanks so much for the advice!
  22. Hello All, My boyfriend surprised me with an engagement last night, prior to our cruise on Enchantment of the Seas that we've had booked since early spring. We're both super excited and happy, and are planning to celebrate next week on our cruise. We've already booked a dinner at Chops, but I was wondering if there would be any benefit to emailing and letting RCCL know that we're celebrating our engagement? If so, where should I direct that email? I was also poking around some of the Romance packages as a surprise, and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with any of those? I'm eyeing the "Classic Romance Package" - as we sail in 6 days, I'll probably need to move fairly quickly. Thanks!
  23. 10/30/15 - Halloween on Enchantment of the Seas! :D
  24. I cruised on Liberty towards the beginning of the year, and all the big football games were being shown. If not the main pool, I'd be willing to bet there would be a spot to watch the game since there are probably plenty of people following baseball right now! Enjoy Liberty!
