  1. Fellow Ohioan here and INCREDIBLY grateful!!!!! Edit: Evidently no rapid home tests available near me - but going to keep an eye on this link. Thank you! Edit 2: Found one - calling the library shortly to pick up a couple! Edit 3: I have two Abbott BinaxNOW Covid-19 Home Tests in my posession! IDC what @Matt says, @DanielB is the board winner today!
  2. Wow, I just got it for $71/pp - feeling VERY good about that price now for my Oct sailing.
  3. As long as you are comfortable navigating your bags around and off the ship, this is a VERY easy way to go and gets you on your way the fastest. This is what we've always done (even when travelling with multiple roller bags).
  4. I would - the drive back to Port Canaveral can be long (~ 1 hr) and security at MCO can be a mess, so this is definitely something I would consider.
  5. My husband and I had almost this exact conversation following our last 7 day interior on Allure. We love the sunshine and quiet that a balcony offers. I could probably be convinced to book an interior for a < 4 night sailing, but I'd be eyeing those balcony prices.
  6. This is so funny - so, we just booked a cruise in place of a different cancelled vacation. We had planned to do all carry on for that vacation, especially since we had access to a washer/dryer. Now for a CRUISE - I'm just looking at the six pairs of shoes I want to bring because of all the "costume changes" through the day for various cruise activities (swim wear, dinner outfits, gym clothes, relax around the ship outfits...)
  7. I've been to Antigua once - but we wound up walking off the ship and taking a taxi over to Valley Church Beach. GORGEOUS beach with a little restaurant on it - we had a ball with us to throw around and we just laid down our towels to sit on and it made for a really nice, quiet beach day. Our taxi driver even waited with us to take us back. I'd definitely recommend that route - but depends on if your kids would be happy just with the beach or if they'd want more to do.
  8. I feel that one of the most impressive shows in the fleet are the diving shows in the Aquatheater on the Oasis class ships. I believe you can book these ahead via the cruise planner - definitely a can't miss on my list for any Oasis class ship.
  9. Haha - thanks, JL! Glad to be here!
  10. I will bookmark that just in case - going to see what Royal's offering is tomorrow first.
  11. I guess we'll find out tomorrow!! Do you happen to have a link for the other two tests you mentioned? I'm also curious if Royal is going to do a "peace of mind" price increase on those now.
  12. I think anymore, it's hard to say. There's too many variables to anticipate that an excursion being removed is directly related to a cruise cancellation. I've had a couple cruises cancelled in the last couple of years and there was never a shift in excursions before we knew about the cancellation - but who knows. I'd say probably not. If anything, maybe a port will be changing?
  13. Ah, cool! I've been COMPLETELY out of the cruising loop until just yesterday when I found myself with one booked for the very near future, so I'm very behind on the currently accepted options
  14. Up until yesterday I thought it would still be MONTHS before I was on a cruise again - I just started grinning looking at this picture knowing it means I'll be by the ocean in just over three weeks. It's been far too long. Thanks for sharing this!!!
  15. Royal is starting an option available tomorrow that allows you to purchase a home testing kit that comes with a QR code that will start a session and allow you to complete the test on video with a professional. I plan on ordering two of these kits tomorrow for our upcoming cruise so we aren't rushing around Ft. Lauderdale to find the right kind of test, plus peace of mind that it's an option offered directly through the cruise line so you know they'll accept it.
  16. My hope was that since Heineken is marketed as a true zero and that even O’Douls has a “<0.5%” label and has never been included in the non alcoholic package there would be some wiggle room but I’m not shocked. Oh well! We will be fine either way and we have some coupons that could help with those for some evenings in the pub. Thanks!
  17. Dining question! We purchased the Refresh package and i saw that Heneikens non alcoholic offering was included in the beer list. Is NA beer included in the non alcoholic Refreshment beverage package? I feel like this answer might be no but I wanted to double check. Specifically looking at Odessey.
  18. Nope! If you're carrying them on yourselves, no tag needed - but might be nice to have in case something is misplaced. Keep in mind, you should plan on anything that you keep with you being carry on size or smaller since it'll all be going through security before you walk on board.
  19. Agreed with the above - it's definitely possible, but not something to bank on happening. More of a fun 'bonus'.
  20. ... and now that I've crawled completely out from under the rock I've been living under, I will be buying one of the at-home supervised testing kits projected to be released in a couple days. Problem solved! Anyway, hi everyone! Happy to accept any Odyssey advice you have. We booked the day pass for Coco Beach Club at a great price, as well as unlimited dining and the refresh package already. The ship is the main destination for us, so probably not going to be doing much in ports - but thinking about maybe hitting Paradise Beach in Cozumel? Maybe? (but a quiet Solarium sounds amazing...)
  21. Unrelated - looks like signatures or un-editable or I forgot how to use the site. (Confirmed: user error)
  22. Hi All! In a weird turn of life events - it looks like I'll be boarding Odyssey at the start of October! With that, we're flying in to FLL 2 days early - which based on new guidelines, looks like we'll need to get a test ahead of the port. No big deal for us, but wanted to see if there were any locals that could offer some guidance on where we can get this done? I know there's tons of testing locations and this is probably just as easily Googled but wanted to confirm with locals where would be the best places to go for the quickest/correct documentation to take to the port?
  23. This is perfect - thanks so much @ConstantCruiser!!
  24. Hi all!! It's been a while ? Finally cruise planning again and trying to remember the rule about VOOM and Diamond coupons - for a 5 night cruise for 2 devices, is it cheaper to buy via cruise planner beforehand or onboard? Hope everyone has been well!
  25. Southern Ohioan here - I remain hopeful, however skeptical. I'm hoping that with the return to normal we don't see a sharp increase in virus cases.
