Request a medical refrigerator. The cabin refrigerators are coolers and not standard refrigerator temperatures.

The Aqua Theater shows are very entertaining....especially the diving and the slack line performers.  As far as the rest of the show, it's a bunch of stomping, splashing and jumping about.  I could do without most of that, TBH.  I guess they have to make a 50 minute show out of something.
The Aqua 80s show, however, I find extremely enjoyable b/c the music is so well done.  It is one of the best musical arrangements I have ever heard.  They really do an excellent job with the music on that one.  The others, not so much.....

I’m gonna be honest, I can tear an engine down to its individual parts and rebuild it, but this thread has me scratching my head. I’m very impressed (and confused) with the calculations and….well….math that’s in it.

We do nrd because it’s always been cheaper overall, especially when booking onboard. The third party annual travel insurance plan we buy will reimburse our non refundable deposits, payments , etc for the covered reasons up to our limit.

whitsmom reacted to Xaa in Average Tipping
Here's the thing.  If a person says they tip less than another person tips, the second person seldom thinks that's BS.  If the person tips more than the second person, the second person is much more likely to believe it to not be true.  You'll seldom meet a person that says they aren't a "good tipper" We all like to think of ourselves as "good tippers" and when we define that just in gross dollar amount some mental reconciliation needs to be made to still believe that in the face of someone who states they give more.
Being a "good tipper" though is about the recognition of service and appreciation for the individuals providing that service to you and then offering something to the provider as a sign of that appreciation.  On cruises, the included gratuities meet the bar for being a "good tipper" at the gross dollar level.  We all get to give or choose not to give extra and be "good tippers"
Because this forum is helpful and full of knowledgeable folks helping each other, it is not uncommon for someone to seek some directional guidance on what others are doing.  It's helpful to them to make their own personal decisions on what if anything they might want to extend in addition to the included gratuities.  Human nature however always takes over these threads after about a dozen posts.
I personally trust the members of this forum community.  I don't think I get 90% BS when I ask about dining packages, shore excursions, various ports or anything else.  Given that, I don't think these helpful users become less helpful and full of BS when the subject turns to a user seeking some directional guidance on tipping.
As with most things, there are some who disagree.

We are cruise our First "Diamond" cruise in October (10 night) so we will do the VOOM.  Since we own our own business, we need to be available at all times.  Honestly, I would probably still want it even when we retire (2ish years from now).

    1. Looking at the Deck plan for Liberty - it looks like the spacious stateroom pops into the hallway a little more. The difference is 20 sq feet which isn't that much anyways. Unless the deck plan is lying. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/liberty-of-the-seas/deck-plans/2234/06
    6. Royal Caribbean is not your mom. They really don't care if you get arrested for not following local laws. They warn you about out of courtesy (and probably for legal reasons), but if you don't follow the warnings, it's on you.
    9. LOL. I've been to ships with Saturday Night Fever, Mamma Mia!, and in a month Grease. They clearly warn in the daily planner and all their advertisements for these shows that there is adult content. That's on you for either not paying attention to these very visible warnings or ignoring them. The same applies to The Quest and (I'm not 100% sure of this) the Love and Marriage game. I'm not a big fan of Broadway shows, but I still believe that it is time well spent when your entrance has been included.
    10. Yeah, I don't buy this one bit. All experiences, including mine but some years ago, seem to directly contradict this. Also -regarding the 'significant language barrier, it seems like your first language is English based on this amazingly long rant. Everyone, or almost anyone, on the ship is competent in english even if it isn't their first language.

That doesn't mean it's okay to take food off the ship. The signs are there to warn you that if you're caught, there are serious consequences.
Don't take the fact they don't personally check every person and bag as allowing anything.

I can just see Mr. Baileys face when some Junior admin reluctantly enters the room and sheepishly announces, “Mr. Bailey, we are looking at a potential Bud Light event over the pizza survey question.”.

We too will be having our first Diamond cruise for our Fall Foliage cruise in October (Jewel).  We have the refreshment package for water, specialty coffees,  and Canned soda so we don't have to use the vouchers for those.  That hot chocolate and Baileys sounds good! Is it bad that I want one now but it is only 10:30 am and I am at work 🤣

I guess they can charge all they want for pizza as long as the the included Sorrentos is replaced with another decent included food.
I happen to like the pizza from Sorrentos/Cafe Promenade and not having a place to grab a quick, included in my cruise fare bite to eat after the Windjammer closes would definitely make me reevaluate continuing to cruise with Royal.

See, for me it’s not paying for pizza, it’s the loss of an included eating option.

Congrats @KevinK and @RCIfan1912 for your upcoming Diamond cruises.
You can start using your Diamond drinks as soon as you get on the ship.
Friendly tip-make sure you specify when you want or don't want to use your Diamond vouchers........no use having a bottle of water count unless you want it to.
On Alaska cruise this summer (different cruise line), we ordered Hot chocolate with Spiced Rum.   It was amazing and perfect after a chilly day outside.   Imagine you could create your own on any Royal ship.

Anything up to $14 is included... so if you can find somewhere to make it, absolutely.
You can also make your own hot chocolate with the free packets around the ship and use your voucher for a shot of Baileys to mix in.
Glad you're excited, you should be!

Yes, I’ve been upgraded on boarding day after boarding the ship once but usually it’s 1-2 days before sailing. Royal up these days is largely a pipe dream so you have the right idea not holding your breath. Good luck

I just got an email yesterday for my Oct 20-30 (Jewel) for Royal Up.  We have never tried the Royal Up before (usually with family and want our cabins to be together.  However, this time it is just the two of us so I bid on the Grand Suite and Jr Suite.  I only bid the minimum just to test the waters so we shall see. I'm not holding my breath but it will be fun watching to see.  Probably won't know until right before (at least that is what I figure).
