  1. And a mandatory stop at Total Wine to pick up a couple of bottles for the Super Bowl!
  2. We like to stroll the decks and nibble our way thru. Ms Seafarer is excited to try El Loco next week.
  3. So we ended up with 5 inches and I missed the callback from our TA. C'est la vie However, appears that transfers between MIA & FTL are occurring, per this recent schedule on the Allure.
  4. Sent an email with a couple of questions and they only answered one (not the transportation ?) I'll call tomorrow and sit on hold while we get blasted with snow tomorrow up here in NC.
  5. My son and I rented beach chairs and an umbrella from SB in May 2019. They set them up next to the bar. The only thing getting knocked around from the jet blasts are the knuckleheads who grab on to the chain link fence and get slammed onto the road.
  6. Toes in the water, beer in my hand and planes overhead! Live webcam http://sunsetsxm.com/plane-info/
  7. On our Thanksgiving B2B on the Indy, they had NFL games on the poolside big screen, English Pub and Playmakers (naturally). Ms Seafarer and I can't recall if they had commercials or not. Last year, we went to Key West and watched the game harborside at Dante's, since we couldn't get on a ship. Next month, we'll be hanging out at Playmakers on the Odyssey. Hoping to see your Packers in the SB. I'm sure the Buc and Cowboy fans will disagree. BTW--great re-use of resources, as this post hasn't been updated in nearly 4 years!!!
  8. Ditto. And also feeling sad for the passengers sitting in their hotel rooms planning to board tomorrow. That's a lot of dollars wasted on travel to Miami due to a last minute cancellation. I don't want to see that repeated in three weeks and will monitor closely. Hoping that we've hit the peak and will begin to see a plunge in covid cases very soon.
  9. Ordered this morning and received a shipping notice a few minutes later from Optum.
  10. Perhaps the ships may have reached their revenue breakeven point and RC wants to book passengers to ships that haven't.
  11. Story Highlights: A Connecticut couple spent the last three nights of the cruise in isolation in the bowels of Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Odyssey of the Seas. Even with strict cruise line protocols, the CDC rates cruising a level 3, its second-highest level. The couple was flown home by private jet for free as is Royal Caribbean's COVID policy. https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2021/12/17/cruise-covid-outbreak-royal-caribbean/8899096002/?gnt-cfr=1

  14. And we'll be onboard the Jan 29 Symphony cruise. Look forward to meeting you both.
  15. We're flying home out of FTL. Our son who is joining us may be flying out of Miami and would likely be up for a rideshare. He has yet to make any flight plans due to a possible relo.
  16. Called and got an estimate (wouldn't quote because I wasn't making a reservation). $100 for 4 people $125 for 6 Also, saw the post about RC possibly providing transportation. I've emailed our TA to see if they can get details. I expect this to take a few days.
  17. My wife and I will also be doing the same itinerary. There is a couple from another blog who is also looking to share transportation. Found this site on a different thread a few minutes ago. We plan to depart Miami at 9:00 am. Our check-in is at 10:30 am up in FTL. If you'd like, I can call and get pricing details for six people. https://www.ride099.com/
  18. We're sailing in 4 weeks and found this on another thread: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g499450-d3844947-r822684287-Maya_Chan_Beach-Mahahual_Costa_Maya_Yucatan_Peninsula.html
  19. Below is the updated policy for sailings on or before 4/30/22 https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-i-test-positive-for-sars-cov-2-what-is-your-refund-policy-and-costs-covered
  20. On our last cruise, I picked up the phone one late afternoon in our stateroom and called my son in his stateroom. When he answered, we laughed at the "20th century technology" we were using. Not sure if you can leave a voicemail , but if you can, you have an economical option at your disposal. For the six of us, we would meet for breakfast at WJ around 9 am or so. Most of the time, we'd go our separate ways and agree to meet back for dinner at WJ at a specified time. Often we'd run into each other on the ship or on Coco Cay. For my wife and I, we wanted our adult kids to enjoy themselves with all of the activities afforded to them. Good luck with the 11 of you.
  21. Our family of six ate all of our meals there (except for Thanksgiving dinner) during our 4-day Thanksgiving cruise on the INDY. Choices were numerous. Enjoyed just about everything, including lamb couscous at dinner one night. Finding a table for six was no problem, except for the rear window tables occasionally.
  22. A half dozen gratuity envelopes, for additional staff recognition.
  23. Try this pub crawl. My son and I made it up on the fly in San Juan, during a 14 day TA in 2019. Cafe del Angels--ordered the house tropical rum drink. Kinda weak. Switched to the local Medella Light Beer for the rest of the crawl. Our waiter suggested running outside to buy some pastries from the "day-old bakery truck" that was making the rounds. Pretty good sugary donut for a buck. Douglas--great vibe. Located in a two story corner structure, with a pool table upstairs. Verde Luz--nearby Douglas. La Bodega Del Viejo--nearby Castillo San Christobal. Los 3 Cuernos--bring a buck to tape to the wall. Ajo Del País--the man tending bar was a big baseball fan. We talked over a couple of Medella's and he gave us complimentary Plantain chips. I'll be repeating this with my wife in Feb, when we're on the Symphony.
  24. 22 starting next month. More to follow, depending on when my new Bronco is scheduled for delivery.
