The prepaid gratuities is not mandatory at all but I would never do that or suggest that. Below is from Royal’s website, paragraph 2 explains it. The automatic service gratuity is $14.50 USD per person, per day for guests in Junior Suites and below, or $17.50 USD per person, per day for guests in Grand Suites and above, applied to each guest’s SeaPass account on a daily basis. The gratuity applies to individual guests of all ages and stateroom categories. As a way to reward our crew members for their outstanding service, gratuities are shared among dining, bar & culinary services staff, stateroom attendants and other hotel services teams who work behind the scenes to enhance the cruise experience. In the unlikely event that a guest onboard being charged the daily automatic gratuity does not receive satisfactory service, the guest may request to modify the daily amount at their discretion by visiting Guest Services onboard and will be able to do so until the morning of their departure. Guests who have pre-paid their gratuity will not see a daily charge during their cruise. The automatic daily gratuity is based on customary industry standards. Applying this charge automatically helps streamline the recognition process for the crew members that work to enhance your cruise. We hope you find the gratuity to be an accurate reflection of your satisfaction and thank you for your generous recognition of our staff.

The CDC and government needs to stay out of our lives. The past 2 years has been a perfect example of an overreach of power and the people worldwide are fed up with all of it. -

Best place for cruisers to live in Florida?
bluer101 replied to Censored's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We are in Boca Raton since 1982. It’s nice to be so close to all the action, ports, theme parks, ships, Florida Keys, Bahamas by personal boat, etc. -
We are 11:30 am for our 3/11 sailing.

Special area for suite guests at Coco Cay?
bluer101 replied to Censored's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We have a floating cabana booked for upcoming Wonder cruise over spring break. Yes the cost was expensive but for our family is will be well worth the price. This way our group can come and go as we please. The wives might stay and chill while the others enjoy thrill water park or oasis pool. It will be a nice relaxing day for the last day of our trip. -
No appointment, 24/7, just log on and follow the instructions, straight forward.

Ordered mine a few hours ago. -
I had issues with emed also. Last cruise I ordered from the Royal Caribbean Optum store. Had zero issues with that purchase. With the Covid test shortages and possible long lines we decided to order a 6 pack from emed on Dec 28. We figured the $182 was worth the piece of mind to again take the tests at home before our March 11 Wonder cruise. Joining on this cruise is my brother and his family also. So he ordered his 6 tests on Dec 30. So on Dec 31 he got his shipping info but nothing for me yet. A quick side note, my brother lives Nextdoor to me. On Jan 3 I called emed as I still had no tracking or being charged. Emed assured me that mine will ship and I will get a tracking number despite my brothers order after mine and arriving the following day. The next day my brothers ordered arrived along with my order both via Fedex. That’s same day I noticed a pending refund of $182 for my tests while my order status still shows pending on shipping. On Jan 4 the refund disappeared and still to this day my emed account still shows pending. So I was never charged for my kits, almost received a refund for something I was never charged for, and still received my 6 kits. Talk about a messed up ordering experience. So in the end my brother paid and got his tests, I never paid, almost got a refund, and still got my tests.

One of the changes made, “Testing requirements will continue, and ships with at least 95% of fully vaccinated crew and passengers may continue to reduce or eliminate certain public health measures onboard, such as mask use and physical distancing.” Then below that under Masks, “The CDC will still require cruise ships to wear masks onboard ships, regardless of if the lines opt-into the voluntary program or not.” So what is it, have to wear masks or can the cruise line reduce or eliminate masks?

Yes, antigen tests from CVS are accepted as you are leaving from a US port. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise#united-states

We had the Key end of October. We were able to leave when ever we wanted to vs waiting for your number to be called. They also had a separate baggage pickup area for key too but we wheeled our luggage off our selves.
