  1. Make reservations for My Time and wait times are greatly reduce if not eliminated. The website allows this, the app does not. I should add I think RC has improved in this area. On past cruises My Time reservations didn't reduce the wait time for a table. Our last cruise on Ovation we chose My Time with reservations and were seated right away. However, we were not seated at the same table or with the same wait staff each evening. If we received good service I left an appropriate cash tip each evening.
  2. I hope so. These islands do not have the resources or building codes that compare to the USA.
  3. Personally I am concerned with the conditions of the ports after Fiona passes. Flood or wind damage takes time to fix. Our Harmony itinerary in early October will take us to the ports Fiona passed over.
  4. You will need to provide evidence a Bermuda Travel Authorization application costs Bermuda $40 each to process.
  5. If you re-route it will save you $40 pp "Health Tax" Bermuda extorts from international travelers. Before I get lit up the term "extorts" is my opinion.
  6. Yes CafeTwo70 on Quantum class ships is very close if not exactly the same as the Park Cafe on Oasis Class.
  7. I agree. They are a cost of doing business for RC and designed to cement the loyalty of those already regular customers.
  8. It may vary ship to ship but I would find it hard to believe Canada is lax about that data. Our cabin attendant was adamant we needed to provide the receipt ID number ASAP. I would assume he was reciting his marching orders.
  9. I was on Ovation round trip from Seattle with a stop required at Victoria. We didn't need to show the ArriveCAN QR code receipt to board but our cabin attendant left a form for us that asked for the ArriveCAN receipt ID number. If you don't turn one in, RC will know.
  10. Don't hesitate to walk down the hallway in both directions looking for your luggage I have found our bags 6 or so cabins down the hall from our cabin. Other times they are right outside the door.
  11. Aruba. If one is not a beach person or doesn't snorkel, it doesn't have much else to offer.
  12. On this cruise we are going pack in carry on only, doing self assist disembarkation. If you are with large bags my advice is grab any elevatior going up as they are usually empty and ride it up and back down. On the way back down the elevator car was usually full by decks 9 or 8 and it stopped at every deck disappointing those who thought they might get on this one. Another elevator hint. If it is "rush hour" when those who got off the ship in port are returning at the same time, be patient and wait for the elevator to take you back up from the gangway floor. Some thought the crowd waiting was too large and decided to walk up 2 or 3 decks and catch the elevator there. The elevator filled to max capacity at the gangway floor and there was no room for those who walked up.
  13. I admire your tenacity and your technical abilities but I doubt the average consumer of RC cruises has your technical knowledge. I'll stand by earlier comments.
  14. I do understand there would some complexity but RC does know the cost of the different add-ons if one books a particular cruise. Why should actually booking it make the data that RC already has available? It could be part of the booking process, The onus should not be on the consumer.
  15. I have done some looking around the RC web site and I can't find the cost for the Cruise Planner items unless I launch the cruise planner from a booked cruise. If I were to book a Grand Suite, and that booking can't be done as refundable, and decide the add on extras were too much and don't want to go anymore, I can't cancel without financial penalty. If I choose a non star class cabin, I have complete the booking and pay the deposit to see the costs. Is there a way to determine the cost of the different add-ons without actually booking a cabin?
  16. I hope I didn't create an "International Incident"
  17. Our daughter's ankle was stung by jelly fish in Galveston when she was small. The beach concession stand put "Accent" (MSG) on the rashes. Not sure if was the correct thing to do but she quit crying
  18. Sorry if I got the name wrong. Is it called England then? Is U.K. to all encompassing? A internet search showed a team name "England" in 2018 World Cup bracket.
  19. We were on Serenade doing the Baltic Cruise during 2018 World Cup and RC held a World Cup viewing party in the aft Jungle/Congo bar for all the Brits on the ship when the UK team played. There was also a big screen set up in the Schooner bar and every time there was a roar from the viewers the Schooner bar staff went running to the TV to see what the hub bub was about
  20. I wondered what the small lit circle was on the craps table. Between dice throws the stick person would slide a small puck off and on the circle and the lights around the circle would go off and then back on. It must be the counter..
  21. We use an old sea pass card from an earlier cruise. However, every time the cabin steward services the room he pulls the card up just enough to disengage the trip switch in the slot.
  22. The pandemic caused TSA grace period for requiring a REAL ID is ending!!!! Beginning May 3, 2023 a REAL ID compliant drivers license, state issued ID card or a current passport will be required to pass through the TSA checkpoints at ALL US commercial airports! Now is the time to get one before the mad rush next spring!
  23. We only play them to useour free play allotment. I actually won $15 using the free play on our last cruise
  24. The "standard" rule of thumb is book flights noon or later. The real wild card is the time ship arrives and is ready to disembark passengers. If all is on time great! But I have been on a cruise that was 6 hours late docking due to fog. That's the extreme! Weather forcing an itinerary change can change the arrival time. I am not trying to be Mr. Gloom and Doom. Some things are just out of anyone's control.
