  1. Per their website, Celebrity Cruises (and a part of Royal Caribbean Group) is following suit with the same testing requirements as RC. No surprise there.
  2. I think the only rub we have is they don't pick us up from the hotel until 11:15 am. Given the approx. 90 minute ride to the port (I make an assumption we will be stopping at other hotels) I need to take that into account when choosing a port check-in time window. We are in a suite so we have do have a +/-1 hour cushion to play with.
  3. Just booked Go Port shuttle service this morning from our Orlando hotel (Embassy Suites - Airport) to Port Canaveral , $59.98 for 2 people out the door (included taxes and fees). We are sailing in October, 2022 as well. Adding the port to airport shuttle saved us a few bucks.
  4. I had read they were often cancelled due to rough seas and RC decided to end them.
  5. I wish I had thought of that before I purchased both sizes of tags. Oh well
  6. I saw money put in the shirt pocket too. I think from now on I'll tip per round and not one larger tip before I leave the bar.
  7. We have a housekeeping service every other week and I do a light cleaning around the home the morning of because I don't want them thinking we are total slobs Besides, they tend to clean around the clutter and not move it to clean underneath. I would expect some cabin stewards to do the same level of cleaning.
  8. On a cruise from Tampa we were delayed 6 hours because Tampa Bay was fogged in and the port was closed. The rub was we moored outside the bay and had no cell service to make alternate flight arrangements. My point is things happen that are out of control of the ship's crew. I personally would never book a flight before noon. I say that even though *most* of the time we were at the airport with plenty of time to make a 10:45 am flight.
  9. Inspect away. If trivial items are reported that's a good sign the ship is very clean and compliant!
  10. We have a cruise booked in October and check-in is available on the 2nd sea day of an August cruise. Do we need Voom to secure a boarding check-in time window?
  11. Just before the shutdown I had redeemed RC Visa points towards OBC and the funds did not show up on our Cruise Planner. After a couple weeks I called and was told I needed to call the Rewards number. (1-800-305-4626) They said the rewards OBC is applied 2 weeks prior to sailing. She then offered to apply them now if I would like! I said yes and they were available on Cruise Planner within minutes! Given the numerous pandemic cancellations I tried to keep good track of the rewards points as they were move moved from one sailing to another. BTW - they were not moved automatically. They were not available on Planner after I booked a new sailing. I had to call to tell them what cancelled sailing they had been applied to and what sailing to move them to. The good thing was they were always applied immediately.
  12. I generally give a cash tip to the bartender when leaving the bar for dinner. Now that I think about it is not uncommon to have been served by multiple bartenders. Some go on dinner break while other return from break. If I leave a tip when I leave, is that tip shared by entire team?
  13. I thought once RC accepted the a Royal Up bid was binding and one had to accept it. If the bid is still in the offer phase the bidder could cancel it. I found this nugget on the RC website: Modifying or Cancelling the Offer Guest may modify or cancel an Offer up to 2-hours prior to the cruise departure date, but only if the Offer has not been accepted by RCI and if the Credit Card has not been charged (the “Offer Period”). If Guest modifies or cancels the Offer during the Offer Period, the original Offer will be voided, and if applicable, replaced with Guest’s modified Offer. Voided or cancelled Offers will not be reviewed. Modifying or Cancelling the Offer or Booking by Guest After RCI Accepts the Offer If RCI has accepted the Offer, the Offer cannot be modified or cancelled, and Guest must pay the Total Amount regardless of whether Guest subsequently modifies or cancels the booking. If RCI has accepted the Offer and Guest modifies or cancels the booking, the Upgrade and the Offer will be cancelled. RCI will have no obligation to invite the Guest to submit a new Offer on the modified or new booking or to apply the Upgrade to the modified or new booking or to issue a refund or credit of any kind. Upgrades are non-refundable unless Guest cancels the booking. If Guest cancels the booking, Guest’s cruise fare will be refunded in accordance with RCI’s standard cancellation policy, and Guest will receive a refund for the Total Amount of the Upgrade.
  14. And since Virgin cruises are adult only that 10% won't include unvaccinated toddlers
  15. As of July 24th Euro pre-cruise testing, and July 27th, USA pre-cruise testing ceases on Virgin Voyages. Also, they increase capacity for unvaccinated bookings to 10%.
  16. 65 or younger. There is also a weight limitation but I don't what that is.
  17. We are looking forward to it although it is way off in 2024. We try to book cruises far out but we have also found it gives us too much time to change our minds. Given all the perks with the Retreat and the generous OBC at a price point equivalent to a Jr. Suite on an Oasis or Quantum class ship with Royal Caribbean, this voyage is going to be a keeper!
  18. I just found out I am TOO OLD to book a Segway tour
  19. Southwest publishes on their web page that the max size for a carry on bag is 24"L x 16"W x 10"H
  20. I agree but my experience with corporate decision making has me believing it will take at least 4 or 5 (2) hour meetings to get any consensus. Then another 3 or 4 to pick the date to implement the changes. All the while they remember they announced their intentions through Sept. so "We've' got time!"
