adwo41 got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Covid test upon Trans-Atlantic arrival in Southampton, England?
Most major UK airports have COVID testing centres which are open all hours, are bookable in advance (online), payable (online), and reasonably priced. They are open to the public including all travellers, not just airline passengers. So, if you're going to be anywhere near a major UK airport (e.g. Heathrow [LHR] or Gatwick [LGW]) during the two days after your arrival, why not book an appointment? Some centres are drive-in, as well as walk-in. Just google 'COVID testing UK', and you'll eventually find the right websites. What you'll need is a "Mandatory Day 2 PCR Test" to be taken before the end of Day 2 in England (your arrival day is Day 0).
As regards Southampton, there's at least one convenient testing centre waiting for you: try this URL: https://www.dam-health.com/southampton/
Good luck! See you on Anthem! I'll be interested to hear how things worked out. (Though all the protocols will probably have changed by then!).
Cheers, Adrian

Look what was waiting for me after dinner and a couple of hours taking night photos around the ship:
I’m positive that I’m negative and I have the paper to prove it.

Scenario 1, yes you can get a drink and take it back to your cabin and scenario 2 they will not let you take the bottle you will get it at the end of the cruise if your not opening it straight away.

adwo41 got a reaction from TonyYOW in Matt's advice about home tests is great, BUT ...
It's amazing what a little bit of sleuthing can reveal. It turns out, there are two clinics at YVR that handle rapid antigen tests for travellers with instant results and waay cheaper than Shoppers. Ultima (https://yvrmedical.com) and CVM (https://covid-medical.ca). Ideal solution. And, in my case, only one certificate needed for US entry and RC embarkation. But watch out for their restricted opening hours, especially on the weekend. Dodged another bullet. Phew!

Tony: after your test on the 25th, can you update us on the type of documentation Shopper's provides you and what type of antigen testing they do?

Other than Shoppers or Loblaws chains, here in southwestern Ontario, I have also discovered at least two local labs that will do testing for travel. Look around, they could be out there. The two local labs where I am charge about the same price as Shoppers, they both have great reviews, and the return time for antigen is 15 mins and PCR is no more than 48 hours (but many reviews say that they received it within 24 hours)

I'm in Ottawa.
Most of SDM here have rapid tests as an option. The result is ready in 15 minutes. I'm already booked for Saturday 5pm. That will cover both - my flight on Sunday and the embarkation on Monday. Fingers crossed.

We're talking 11-day TA, so the two carry-on bottles will be long gone by mid-voyage. So, I think Scenarios 3 or 4 will do nicely. Problem solved. Thanks, guys!

Canadian and international travelers residing outside the U.S. will need to complete testing requirements for COVID-19 at more standard venues, as these test-at-home kits are only approved for those residing in the United States. (From CruiseCritic website).
