  1. Well there goes my Friday Matt! Haha
  2. Wow third quarter of next year! Looks like time to throw in a few more cruises to take advantage of lesser capacity.
  3. I really like this thread because it reminds me of paging someone in a grocery or department store before cell phones. "Matt, can you please come to the customer service booth, your party is waiting for you."
  4. So when we were on Mariner over Thanksgiving they told us that the Captain said no? I was pretty surprised be cause we were excited to be able to connect with our inlaws but we took it in stride when our Room Attendant told us we just let it be.
  5. Yeah I would return this item directly to Royal. The person who lost it is going to reach out to Royal Caribbean and would have a very slim chance of ever seeing this post. Meanwhile if you turn it in and site the ship and room number that you were it they could most likely get it returned to the owner very easily. I would not have left the ship with it.
  6. Thank you for this post. I logged in this morning and not only was I moved to FLL on Harmony that particular itinerary is a 6 night and going to Nassau, Labadee and Falmouth and I had a mini panic attack because I am done with less than 7 nights and none of those ports sounds exciting for Thanksgiving week! I will calm myself and wait for the dust to settle.
  7. After 2 cruises this year, September and November I would say it has to be the new reserving of check in times and how quickly the onboarding process is. From checking in on the app and uploading all of your necessary documents; it has not taken us more than 15/20 minutes from getting out of the car to being onboard. I Truly hope they just keep the check in times because not having to deal with the crush of people at 11 like before has been so enjoyable.
  8. Yes that was exactly it. Thanks I could not remember what it was as she was the one that handled it while I was driving.
  9. So I recently got off Mariner of the Seas on Nov 30th and was about 3 hours into the drive home when I realized that I did not have my wallet on me. While cruising I always leave my wallet in the safe and only take the cash or credit cards that I need onshore and my passport. So on debarkation morning wearing athletic shorts it fell out of my pocket in the chair in the main dining room. This was the first time I had been separated from my wallet in at least 15 years and so I was thoroughly panicked. My wife did a quick search for a Royal Caribbean lost and found and there is an email process that you go through and give them all of the details about the item and the ship and so forth. Being the pessimist that I am I thought it was a fools errand but what the heck. Thankfully for Mobile Apps and being able to turn off all of my cards immediately, and that I jokingly had given my Wife all of the cash from my casino trips telling her that she would get it from me one way or another so might as well hand it over. I was only really out the actual wallet. 2 Days post cruise and I received an email last night from Royal that the wallet has been found and it will be returned to me once the ship returns to port and they are able to process it, all I had to do was pay for shipping. So if you ever forget/lose something this might be worth a try.
  10. Just got off Mariner and we enjoyed a cigar almost everyday. During the day or before dinner we would head up to the pool deck and you can get great service from the pool side bar staff while you enjoy your cigar and there are many different kinds of seating from loungers to table and chairs. They sell several midlevel cigars in the shop onboard but I would always steer clear as they are not a good deal. I have never had anyone even look at cigars that I brought back onboard when they are just in your beach bag or whatever. So not sure about them "not" allowing them. I guess if you were really worried you could just take the bands off and no one would know the difference. As a personal point of preference having had Cuban cigars and cigars from all over; they are not really the mythical beast that they were in the 1960's or even 1970's as has been told to me by cigar professionals as many of the Cuban families during the prolonged rule of communism have taken their methods and tobacco strains and left the country and created equally as good products in Central-American countries. That being said to each his own. Final note on your Lighter that you take I did run into them having to review my "torch" lighter in Port Canaveral at boarding and they eventually cleared it because they said it was fine as long as it does not lock in the lit position. Enjoy your cruise @James_Mc!
  11. I would never recommend this, just give them cash at this point with a picture of RC Ship. It’s a huge ordeal to redeem. We are out a $250 gift certificate so far because of the system.
  12. So we have been to both stops when we went out of San Juan. I can tell you in St. Kitts I really enjoyed the railway tour. In Barbados we actually just hopped in a cab and had them take us to a local beach and ate at a local restaurant and I think the cab fair might have been 30-40 bucks round trip. The driver actually came back to get us at the time we requested.
  13. First off, welcome to the land of the living. You will not go back to Circus. We went on Freedom just before the upgrade and it was still a wonderful ship. I hope you have a wonderful time. To me the Promenade is what makes it on RC and it just goes up from there. I hope you come back with your impressions afterwards.
  14. Man a lot of Debbie downers in this thread. Nothing wrong with a joke here and there on vacation God forbid. It might be hard to pull off now with the e-muster but several years ago we convinced my Father In-Law that he needed to bring his life jacket to the muster station for practice. Once he saw us at his door with no life jackets he immediately took his off but even that 15 seconds when he opened the door was priceless.
  15. They are definitely just bread sticks I would 100% agree. They also serve them in the pub as pretzels if that is not what you are already talking about.
  16. Just have a great time! Try the Poutine in The Pub its delicous!
  17. Well first off we were thinking about skipping Giovanni's because it just looked really casual and to be honest we didn't love Gio's Table the old concept. But we could not have been more wrong. Thankfully we decided to have lunch there on like day three and it was incredible and we went back for dinner on the last night. Everything is awesome. When we went for lunch they recommended three appetizers (The meat and cheese plate, stromboli, & Caprese) all was great but then we each ordered our own actual pizza when we could have split one or really just had the apps for lunch. It was just me and my Wife so we missed not having extra people to help with the sharable portions. Teppanyaki - has one of the best views on the ship and is definitely worth one of your dinners. Playmakers - Food was good sports bar food if you are into that sort of thing and was great to just munch on late night watching a game. I think you could order up to 11pm Wonderland - If you have never done it before I would say do it because it was an experience but you might have to get something to eat later on because it is not really a "Filling" meal. We missed the opportunity to have some food at Giovanni's Wine Bar and I found out they have fried lasagna bites that I wish we would have tried. Obviously CHOPS, CHOPS, CHOPS, everybody! CHOPS!
  18. We just did the UDP on Odyssey last week. We very much enjoyed it; but as it was our first time graduating from the 3 night package we felt the need to get the most bang for our buck and did it for lunch and dinner every night and even got some food in playmakers with it. (additional non meal time stops at Izumi) We would do it again but next time we get it we will not focus on absolutely having to have every possible meal we can in specialty. Some nights we were working around their schedule so we ate too early and then on the sea days when we did lunch it felt like we just ate the whole day. We did enjoy the food in Playmakers quite a bit while watching a game later in the evening. The Pub food was for whatever reason not included. I don't know if that is always the case or perhaps the bartender just made a mistake. Regardless the food is not very expensive in the Pub to begin with, like 4-8$ for appetizers. I would say if you are going on a ship that has many specialty dinning options then you should definitely do it. If you are going on a ship with fewer options it might make more sense to do the chops +1 or something else.
  19. Just got back from Odyssey Sept 5th Sailing and the Ship was definitely the destination @KLA. Not sure if you have done the UDP before or not but we took advantage of it and while we loved all of the restaurants onboard it was the most I think I have ever eaten on a cruise. So we did feel like it zapped some of our energy as we tried to have lunch in Gio's and Chops on top of getting sushi several times for myself. Overall great experience. All the food was amazing as I said but I guess what surprised us the most was how good Giovanni's reimagined menu and concept was. We initially only were going to go for a lunch since it did strike us as pretty casual but the food was out of this world and we went back for dinner on the Last night. We had Pavlo as our server and I would recommend him for sure! Otherwise just have a wonderful time and make sure to get some grub at Playmakers as well!
  20. @WesKineticis correct and even worst case scenario they can make up bag tags at the curb for you when you arrive if God forbid you didnt have enough or even forgot them entirely.
  21. We were sitting in the hot tub around sundown, a little late in the afternoon to be honest and a gentleman proceeded to get in with a full plate of windjammer food. Mostly I remember him trying to eat what I think was chicken wings and watching pieces of the food falling into the water around him. Needless to say it was a clear sign that it was time for us to exit and go get ready for dinner. (I can promise you him eating in the hot tub did not trigger a hunger response!)
  22. I don't believe that you receive any C&A points but the Cruise is free for you and a guest.
  23. No it looks like I will receive other information in another email. Not sure. I would hope that since you provide your address that they try and align you to something that is close. The only one that would be pricey or stressful to do would be out of NJ. I am located on the Gulf Coast near Pensacola so Galveston or Port Canaveral are no biggie.
  24. So as someone who never wins anything when it comes to drawings or raffles I received this email from Royal today while I was out and about. Super excited to see where they are going to assign me and trying to figure out logistics of making it onboard! I would love to hear if anyone else has received anything or even further details. I know one of the test cruises is on Wednesday.
