  1. "The CDC said Thursday that 5,013 cruise-related infections had been detected between Dec. 15 and Dec. 29. " What is "cruise-related?" People that test positive for covid within 5 days of leaving the ship and just assume it was from the ship? https://www.galvnews.com/opinion/editorials/free/article_e4baef96-b7f6-53f8-b02f-45b6970920bc.html
  2. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2022/01/04/icon-of-the-seas-blocks-arrive-shipyard-along-something-weve-never-seen Since it's early on in the construction, is it something related to the LNG storage?
  3. And he's already got a ship named after him
  4. In my state there have been several news stories about the horrors of long lines for testing, yet the daily testing numbers put out by the state are about the same as they've always been.
  5. Puerto Rico is the only country that I can think of that had blanket negative test entry rules for cruise passengers.
  6. The casino smoking ban expires on Wednesday.
  7. It'd be the other way around. You'd avoid getting an internet package by paying just the $1.99 to message others.
  8. The time has long past for that kind of policy, especially since it hasn't benefited a cruise line that did take that approach, NCL
  9. Honestly it's of no benefit long term to slow the spread. You almost want omicron to get through the crew as fast as possible, as long as you still have enough non-quarantined crew to staff the ship.
  10. You are a case study in why I can't wait until they get rid of post-cruise testing just because you're unvaccinated.
  11. That's crazy that a 3 yr old could test positive but no one else
  12. If you have medical reasons you can always get an exception. That said we brought a full case on board several times, until they stopped letting you check it with luggage and lugging it around the ship prior to rooms being opened didn't make it worth the effort anymore
  13. Honestly I'd keep them just in case you need some at home tests for daily life
  14. I think for the long term benefit of the cruise industry, omicron hit at the perfect time.
  15. 10 days. I'd find a way to rent a car and drive home, no matter how far I'd have to drive, than sit in a hotel being treated like I have the plague for 10 days.
  16. Harmony sailed today with no issues
  17. Yes, that's a CDC rule. Just about every RC protocol is a CDC rule.
  18. Now that the holidays are over hopefully in person testing will start to get easier.
  19. This is another thing that has to change after the CSO. The quarantine protocols and quarantine reaction (hazmat suits and foggers) is extreme overkill and is March 2020-level. There shouldn't need to be a "quarantine deck" especially if you already have a balcony. Just quarantine in your room.
  20. Scott Gottlieb is the co-chair of the Healthy Sail Panel
  21. Harmony is booking back to Port Canaveral at 23 knots, so there might be something to it. Edit: That's Harmony's cruise speed, so that isn't a clue into anything
  22. It will be disappointing if they're following strict capacity and distancing rules for kids in AO come spring break time. Most kids are living normal day to day lives in schools and at home. But in AO it's still March 2020
  23. AO is by far the first thing that needs cleaned up after the CSO expires.
