  1. The original CSO had a generic "You have to have agreement with local health officials to handle any issues" This clarifies what "issues" are any actually what needs to be in place to handle them. It also throws in "hey try to get your people vaccinated, too" as an after thought. What I'd love to know is how far along the cruise lines had these agreements in place or if since the original guidance was so vague it wasn't worth the discussions.
  2. Skimming over it, I can see why Bayley was concerned that amendments to the CSO would be outdated.
  3. Gives some added guidance to the part of the CSO about local agreements (haven't read through it enough yet to see if it makes things more clear or just muddier). Also some vaccine guidance https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/instructions-local-agreements.html
  4. I'm not at all concerned about this EO and Florida-based cruises. Plus we don't even know yet if RC will require vaccines for American homeport cruises.
  5. I'd like to know if that's true since no country that RC is operating in is requiring vaccines for incoming passengers (Israel of course isn't allowing any foreign tourists into the country).
  6. Plenty of workarounds since one could upload their vaccine card image before arriving in Florida.
  7. Anyone hoping their June/July cruises still happen just got their hopes dashed.
  8. But it uses the "variant" buzzword even though the variants most mentioned have been in the USA for six months or more.
  9. Here's the international guidance, which isn't as rosy to return to cruising. In fact there's nothing here that makes me think cruising is happening any time soon. Apparently the variants are only a concern outside the USA. Updated Information for Travelers Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread COVID-19. However, international travel poses additional risks and even fully vaccinated travelers are at increased risk for getting and possibly spreading new COVID-19 variants. CDC recommends delaying international travel until you are fully vaccinated. If you are fully vaccinated with an FDA-authorized vaccine: You should continue to follow CDC’s recommendations for traveling safely and get tested 3-5 days after travel. You do NOT need to get tested before leaving United States unless your destination requires it. You do NOT need to self-quarantine after arriving in the United States.
  10. Updated CDC info: Updated Information for Travelers Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread COVID-19. People who are fully vaccinated with an FDA-authorized vaccine can travel safely within the United States: Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to get tested before or after travel unless their destination requires it Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to self-quarantine Fully vaccinated travelers should still follow CDC’s recommendations for traveling safely including: Wear a mask over your nose and mouth Stay 6 feet from others and avoid crowds Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer I like this one: Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to get tested before or after travel unless their destination requires it Yet the USA requires testing to enter the country even if vaccinated.
  11. There's been no real consistent timing on when they announce, just that it's been after final payment. In the case of June, they may wait a bit longer to cancel just in case they can convince the CDC to back off
  12. If I switch to the Aussie site, once I select that date and start the booking process it shows Key West.
  13. I would just call them up and have it noted on your reservation or however they handle stuff like that.
  14. CDC didn't say that. They said their conditional sail order expires Nov 1.
  15. Can't say I've ever heard anything about archery on board ship until this thread.
  16. Our schools have been fully reopen all year with minimal mitigations and haven't had any tangible issues.
  17. Actually this would be a good job for the Washy Washy lady. She could just go from room to room saying Flushy Flushy just to keep in practice
  18. In the year 2525, if cruising is still alive
  19. I'm sensitive to cigarette smoke but never felt the casinos were that bad. I mean the smoke smell was stuck to everything, but never really noticed it in the air itself.
  20. I'd like to see more data on that (I'm sure it's out there but there's nothing on the Pfizer site about it). I see that those in the vaccine group had zero covid case (great of course) but the positivity rate among the placebo group was still only 1.5%. I'm also curious about the severity of those that got covid in the placebo group. Were they symptomatic at all?
  21. Just two. Seriously thinking of getting a third scheduled for next summer to get another double points cruise before that window expires.
