  1. Yeah. I originally figured just run back and get it. Wasted another 20 minutes of so while she called. Let's just say i was not happy and would have preferred to be 20 minutes closer to home. But we got it and were only a couple hours behind. Still got to the room by about 9 lasst night but unless they give grief over the site name on mine we should be good. It's sad that these places hammer you with one thing then change their minds and don't honor it later.
  2. Headed down to Houston today and my friend didn't have her vaccine card. We were only about an hour from home but figured would call CVS since they always advertised they would replace it. We were told they "no longer replace lost or damaged cards." Anyway wasted a couple hours and picked up the original card but wanted to let people know that replacements may be am issue.
  3. I'm guessing most first timers don't decorate. I know I didn't but my first cruise was very different from most. Anyway here are a few things I have together so far. I kinda just wanted to do something different and fun and not worried if things get moved around. I have one more thing to print off and then i week be ready to go. Supposed to take about 7 hours to do so I'm going to start it in the morning but it will have a similar look to the game room sign.
  4. I am in the process of 3D printing a bunch of stick figure people to put on our door. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1010826 Have stuck them on a few little neodymium magnets so they can be moved around on the door. I figure it will be something a little different and interesting.
  5. Looks like rain for at least the first leg of my B2B, honestly don't care that much if it is though because I will be under the water ASAP. Then the only thing I care about is lightning strikes... And while on the ship the only thing I care about is a little bit of walking around here and there and not getting soaked all the time which should be mostly doable. And again the only thing I really worry about is lightning strikes. Personally I will hit the solarium hot tub and chill a lot of the time.
  6. Just got my reprice done on my October 31st Liberty sailing. Interior room dropped by 234.00. Actually pretty close to a 20 percent discount.
  7. Believe the sign on the door when you get there and the instructor or guide in the room. The mask situation is changing all the time and it may change every single day till the time you get on the ship. The key to everything is to be flexible and ready to deal with things as they happen without getting majorly upset or going off the handle on the ship. However if you can't do that it's best to delay things till they are more stable.
  8. We don't have knowledge on when or where changes will be made. In fact even some of the people at royal don't know. It seems they wait till about 30 days before to release change info. To find out where likely changes will be to look at other port itinerary that is similar length to yours and if it shares one stop that is known to be open with your currently scheduled route the odds are good it will be switched to that one instead.
  9. Another thought. Look up an annoy-a-tron they randomly emit a sound at random internals. Slip it in their room and give them some Spiel about noise and what certain ones may indicate. I'm sure there is something you could tie it to. Another one is tell them about the Mexican Jumping Ticks. Make sure you tell them something about how they can land on you from 10 feet away unless you wrap a towel on their head. All you have to do is show them all the towels while they get off the ship. Should be fun watching them walk around port with a blue towel on their head and the reactions of the locals.
  10. Yep. Check in opened for mine then like 3 days later the vaccination info part was added.
  11. Sea pass cards. I also have the cruise compass so hopefully either printed ones or pdf's are available. I have also found i like collecting basic bills and change (currency) from the places i have been. I have all the standard pocket currency from around a 20.00 dollar bill on down. Who knows. The us economy could be put to shame by Jamaica one day if some ultra rare mineral is found and overnight the JMD could be worth 1000 USD.
  12. While in Port at Falmouth Jamaica my friend purchased something at a shop and got change back in JMD but paid in USD. The change wasn't even close to right. It cost like 8 bucks and she paid with a 20 and got 12 bucks back. But in JMD to USD conversion she got about 12 cents back as change. Another note. If you need local currency ATM's have a decent exchange rate and if you use a bank that refunds ATM fees they are hard to beat. I was in Jamaica for a couple weeks and took a few hundred in cash and exchanged at the airport. The rate was like 112 to 1 or something like that. The rate at the atm was closer to 135 to 1. Even with an ATM fee I was better off that way than the exchange places.
  13. Personally. If I was going to prank someone and they were in their own room I would setup an audio file that basically sounds like the emergency warnings on the ship. Slip a Bluetooth speaker into their room and right as they are going to bed play the file and wait for them in the hall. I can only imagine the look on their face while they are trying to pull clothes and a life jacket on. Could go farther and already be in yours and get them down to the life raft but tell them yours is on the opposite side of the ship for some reason. However if they are easily spooked it may not be a good thing to try.
  14. It depends on the port but most us based sailings will have ports that will accept the dollar. But be careful as some merchants will give change in the local currency with the worst exchange rate possible which could end up being really bad for you.
  15. I was able to add the vaccine cards only through the application. I use android if that matters and am on Liberty of the Seas October 24th through November 7th.
  16. I would say that the mask must be on your face and not the costume. On the costume the mask can not function in the way it was designed. I personally plan to dress up like a sociopath since they look just like regular people.
  17. https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/nbc-5-responds/feds-propose-new-refund-rules-for-cruise-lines/2756416/ Didn't have any issues myself but I have heard of some so looks like the rules are going to tighten up a bit.
  18. I intend to tip. No reason not to. But I would imagine that after not working much through all the happenings I'm sure there are expenses that need paid off. And since they can't go to shore they can only purchase what is on the ship from what I understand is an inflated price. I would rather pick up 30 bucks worth of stuff that can be shared than to throw 3 times that in cash so they can buy the same amount of stuff on the ship. Everyone is welcome to do as they wish but I think many of the workers will appreciate when people bring stuff to the ship since they will get a larger variety of things and the fact that some people will show they truly care. I was also thinking about seeing if I could do a run to the store on my B2B, im sure I could take a drive to the store and pick a few things up if needed.
  19. From my understanding it can take up to 2 weeks for points to apply. I am setup to do a B2B at the end of the month with my friend and am Gold currently and my friend has nothing. I am hoping that she will still get double points for the second sailing but for the most part is not a huge deal. By the end of the cruise I will be into platinum and after the end of 2022 I should hit emerald.
  20. I second using a different browser. I usually use Brave but some sites don't play nice with it and sometimes even chrome will goof. For those times i will use either Firefox or opera and see if that will fix it.
  21. Just stopped by a dollar tree. Picked up some razors (2 10packs), toothpaste (3 boxes) , bar soap (4), 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner (2), male and female deodorant (2 of each) , and lotion. Going to pick up some peanut butter and maybe some snacks before we leave out. Anyway hopefully that is most of what is needed. I don't do Facebook but my friend does and she is trying to find a list of needed things. Was wondering if they might need any sanitary feminine products or if that stuff is available for their use.
  22. Mask and snorkel is a must most any place. Fins are not bad to pick up but you need to pay attention if you don't go to a dive shop as you may end up with fins designed for snorkeling which are shorter than scuba fins or freediving fins which are much longer. Another thing is don't worry about the split fins, they are for wreck penetration or cave diving and will underperform compared to regular fins. I personally use the Cressi Pro light fins and picked up the Cressi bungee straps. On a regulator I would say wait till you have some experience. I rebuild my own regulators and like the Scubapro piston style first stages and the G250 but a new equivalent would be a MK25 with a G260. But for every personal opinion on gear there is someone else who completely hates it. The best thing you can do is try some different rental stuff and see what fits you and your style. As far as new and used well I bought all my stuff used. But new Scubapro stuff get free parts for life from my understanding or at least the stuff to rebuild them. So while used will be cheaper there will be some costs added to the life of the product if parts are included and I have a MK5 with a 109 that was made in the mid 70's that prove the piston 1st stage and a 2nd stage can last a long time.
  23. All but one of my dives has been canceled, so 3 out of 4 over the last month. Not sure what is going on but at this rate I'm just going to twiddle my thumbs at most of the ports.
  24. Interesting. Had another dive in Mexico canceled today, I guess that is due to this rule since wet people and masks are not great together.
