  1. How is the Fairfield Inn & Suites near the port? Our friends agreed to cancel the Ramada Inn. This is their next choice.
  2. I am interested to find out when you receive your acceptance email for the BTA so I can then figure on when I should receive mine. My cruise is on Adventure Aug. 13 from Cape Liberty.
  3. I am also interested now in whether or not I need to test before my Aug 13 cruise to Bermuda. Does Bermuda still require even though Royal is not requiring it since the cruise is 5 nights! Hope someone will know this answer or perhaps I just need to call Royal?
  4. I’ve noticed a lot of passengers wearing masks when getting off the ship while docked in Bermuda. I actually was wondering if Bermuda still requires masks! I am cruising on Adventure to Bermuda in 16 days so I watch the Bermuda PTZ webcam from time to time . I will bring a few masks with me but do not plan to wear unless I feel it is absolutely necessary.
  5. Exactly! Under the bed is the place to keep your luggage. @Lynn McKee and @IzzyB As far as needing multiple suitcases, customizing outfits to mix and match is also an option for keeping the clothes to a minimum and the same for shoes! I was notorious for being an over packer but after a few times of bringing home more clean clothes than dirty (!!!) my packing is now much more simple!
  6. I believe the within six months would be the date of your second dose. If that was more than six months ago…they want you to get a booster.
  7. Any of the Royal Caribbean luggage tags on Amazon are great. I have ordered several different ones...these are really good ones: https://amzn.to/3BiRup3
  8. I'm counting down for my Adventure cruise...18 days to go! Planning on a helipad sail-away...weather dependent of course! ENJOY your cruise!!!
  9. See my update above…with concerns. Anyone have same issue? Thanks!
  10. I did this recently for my upcoming cruise on Adventure and the price remained the same with just the taxes being added. I also added the prepaid gratuities but the cabin price was just split between the two of us with the discounts. Maybe my original cabin price was still the same when I added my daughter?
  11. Lowest price I have seen was $1299 but that was pre COVID. Prices have been steadily rising but, my gosh, $3499 is crazy steep! Starting off with that price seems almost impossible for the price to get below $2999 which I would never pay! Yes, you can divide by 8 if you have 8 individuals going in together but a family having to book at this price is just insane (of this is my own opinion). However, there are those who will pay whatever just for the experience, to each his own.
  12. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/am-i-eligible-for-the-royalup-upgrades-program When the above URL opens…click where it says “here “ Just put your info in. You will see a pop up telling you to make sure your sailing is within 30 days. BUT…the program will now have your email and if bidding becomes available for your sailing at anytime (I received an email yesterday for my September cruise) you will receive an email to bid.
  13. I will use WAZE as well. Lucky I’ll have my daughter with me to keep me on the right path!
  14. Exactly what I said yesterday. Guess we think alike.
  15. I’ve been reading your responses and see several options but am I correct in assuming that I…driving from RI…will just take 95S all the way?
  16. Mine also says Submitted, however, if I click on the amount I can still modify or cancel.
  17. I needed to contact Royal and emailed Michael Bayley…was contacted the very next day by one or his assistants and the correspondence kept moving until I had the result I needed. This was regarding FCC stuff not cruising complaints. FYI @AllenW: the cruise line does not provide anniversary decorations or whatever you were looking for. There are decorations you can purchase on the cruise planner. Yes, you can ask for a special dessert but that’s about it. It’s not realistic to expect something for nothing for a birthday or anniversary. Heck…there could be hundreds of people celebrating something on their cruise…it would take a lot of extra hands to deal with that if everyone wanted something for nothing! I also agree with a few others who answered above…when choosing your room there are so many ways to check it out before booking. I am sorry you experienced things you did not expect but I truly do not think the cruise line owes you anything at this point.
  18. Not sure there really is much of a difference between soft side and hard side luggage. The bigger decision for me has to do with the wheels. Pushing, pulling or rolling the luggage around is much easier with the newer style 360 wheels that roll around any which way you want them to. Oh…and the weight of the empty luggage! The lighter it is empty…the more “stuff” I can fill it with before hitting the 50lb mark!! Who knew there was so much to consider when thinking about trading in older baggage for newer ones??
  19. I’ll be taking this drive in 27 days. Heading to Bayonne will be a Saturday so I do not anticipate any traffic issues. However, my return will be on a Thursday morning…thinking I will most likely have to deal with traffic then? Since parking will cost just $125. I never considered hiring a limo, which would be awesome, so I just priced it out and it would cost well over $1,000! Guess I will just have to deal with the traffic on my return! Thanks for the few driving route tips…I will do my homework to figure out which route(s) will be best for me to use.
  20. I guess I misunderstood the OP’s info. I read it as they were booking actual rooms that are for one person only…not a room that can hold 2. I know a room for 2 with just one occupant receives double points. The words used were “solo interior cabin” which to me meant a room for one. Thanks for clarifying.
  21. I believe a solo interior room gets single points. As far as combining points from 2 rooms I do not think that is how Crown & Anchor works. Since each person has their own C&A number the points only get added to that number…well, as far as I know, anyway! I would be interested in finding out if what I think is correct…or not. If it is…then book the suite and get the double points!
  22. I have these same cases and they are great.
  23. I can let you know in about 32 days. I am on the August 13th cruise so will be in Bermuda on the 15th and 16th. Taking my adult daughter with me. Planning to spend the first day off the ship exploring Hamilton and Horseshoe Beach. The second day will be cut in 2 because I have a girlfriend getting married at Noon on Elbow Beach. Just a quick little ceremony but since it splits the day…I won’t be planning anymore island adventures! Hoping for decent weather so we can truly enjoy this experience. I will follow since there may be others offering tips and advice which might also help me out!
