  1. We are in the same boat (no pun intended lol). Our cruise is 6/1/2020 and the final payment is due Wednesday. I am contemplating if we should cancel or not. We have been looking forward to this for so long, my kids live in North Carolina with my ex and this was going to be our summer vacation. They have never been on a cruise. They have been watching all the youtube videos about the mariner of the seas. On the other hand, I feel guilty because here I am worrying about my vacation when some people are fighting to live. Sorry for the long post.

My husband and I went on Mariner this past January for our honeymoon. We did not try any specialty restaurants (and kind of regret not trying at least one). We heard Chops Grill was really good!! I really wanted to try Izumi but my husbands hates Chinese food/hibachi and sushi. We really enjoyed the Dog House and I ordered some fries at Playmakers which were actually pretty damn good (Playmakers you do have to pay for the food. Fries were about $3). Also, by the pool is a self-serve soft serve ice cream!! At Coco Cay, they have a make your own taco bar which was AMAZING!! They had fresh ingredients and all the toppings you could think of. Matt always talks about how good the chicken sandwich is (check out his YouTube channel)!!

Honestly though, the food in the main dinning room was really good! If you make a reservation (my time dinning), you have a pretty good chance at sitting at a table with just the two of you. We are fortunate enough to go on another cruise at the end of September on Oasis and will be doing a specialty restaurant for our 1 yr wedding anniversary!!

Thank you so much for the reply. We really want to try the wings at playmakers. Nothing sounds better right now than some beer, wings and fries.

  3. Just wanted to stop by and say hello! We discovered this site after watching all the Royal Caribbean blog videos on youtube. They have been so helpful. We normally vacation in Disney World but frankly that is just getting way to expensive and the crowds are getting stupid. SO we tried a Disney Cruise last September and loved it but that too is way overpriced. We decided to check out Royal Caribbean. We leave for our first cruise in June on the Mariner of the Seas. We also went ahead and booked the Symphony of the Seas for September. So anyway just wanted to say hello, and maybe we can meet some of yall on our next cruise!
