Passports on Excursions: To take or not to take
jaredhamburg replied to anniejensen4's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I have always been told to leave them in your safe in your room and take photocopies of them and your cruise cards. -
That is why early dinner is nice....Eat a multi-course dinner in the MDR and then hit up the buffet around 8:30PM acting like a Hobbit asking for second dinner.....

The process of banging on the door made me laugh and me me think of the old Mervyn's ads where the person was saying "open, open, open."

Ramifications of no buffet?
jaredhamburg replied to Baked Alaska's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
This is what my guess is as well. I do not think it will become table service like in the main dining room. Honestly, I would like cruise buffets to be this way on all cruise lines and not just a few like Holland America. -
I am on Enchantment of the Seas (old, extended Vision class ship) on 9/25/2020. I first had hope because it and the Liberty of the Seas sailed out of Galveston (a state starting up with Carnival on 8/1/2020 as well).....but this statement makes me really sad......Hopefully, I am wrong and things get going in time. Just snagged it for $16.99/per person/per day for my sailing in late September 2020. We were buying the Internet anyway and wanted the special meals coming and going....Plus, being expedited coming and going could be very useful in the coming months. I am not sure how social distancing will work with a large queue trying to get off of the ship, but I think having a way to skip it could give a lot of peace of mind. I just want to use The Key to hit the easy button for the cruise. PS - I know there are different thoughts on the value of the key, but it was quite economical when comparing it and the other perks to just the Internet, which we need to have (medical reasons....otherwise, it would be in a no data mode just as a camera....). I had a similar-ish experience with cruise credits. I was on a kids sail free cruise, but our refund was divided equally among the two adults and two kids. I booked a subsequent kids sail free cruise for the four of us, and they would not let us use the FCC for the kids. I explained how the credit was given for a kids sail free cruise and there was no cruise fare for them and that it all should have been in my the adults' names. Well, the customer rep was probably having a bad day (how can you not with some very grouchy customers in a weird economic time?); but he told me I should be thankful to get anything. I then asked to talk to a supervisor who was able to apply it all correctly. So....do not take no too easily.....the supervisor was good at trying to help me be made whole.

We just need a replicator like in Star Trek: The Next Generation....... -
Freestyle Machines post Covid

My guess is that there will be a card to scan and an attendant to get a beverage. This will also make sharing the cups with the non-beverage package person even harder.... -
Coco Cay - Thrill Cabana or Beach Club (non-Cabana)
jaredhamburg replied to jaredhamburg's topic in Shore Excursions
Thank you for the information. I booked a reservation at the beach club (no cabana) and will keep that until we make a final decision. It was on sale at a decent discount for our sailing. I will probably end up not keeping it, as my kids will probably be like your daughter. But.....I like the security of an item I can cancel. J -
Coco Cay - Thrill Cabana or Beach Club (non-Cabana)
jaredhamburg replied to jaredhamburg's topic in Shore Excursions
Thank you for the information! I think we may favor just be wandering gypsies if it is not too full....but I am curious. How did you like the Beach Club overall? J -
What is a good recommendation for a lower carb cocktail drink or mixed drink? Kraken and diet coke? Anything else? Thanks!

Hello, everyone! I would like some advice on this. I and my family (wife, 9 yo daughter, 5 yo son and I) are going to CoCo Cay in late September. I am debating between a Thrill WaterPark cabana or going to the Beach Club (non-cabana). My daughter is scared of long slides, so would only do the smaller slides. My son can only do the smaller slides and play areas as well. I do not know how busy Thrill gets as Harmony of the Seas should be there (a large ship) an hour before our smaller ship (Enchantment of the Seas). Will it be a mad house you think? If so, I am thinking some beach time and sand toys could be fun at the (I am guessing) less crowded beach club. Our main goal of this vacation is relax and not fight off crowds with a stick. For our booking, it looks like the Cabana would be about $600, and the Beach Club would be $250. Thanks for any thoughts or advice!

Anthem Of The Seas To Galveston, Tx...???
jaredhamburg replied to Texas cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Sorry if I said something vague. EOS is in Galveston until being moved to Baltimore. I just want it to be one of the first ones to go so my 9/25/2020 cruise out of Galveston actually happens. Fingers crossed. I am sure you're right and that planned ship movements between ports will be way different. @Pima1988 -
Anthem Of The Seas To Galveston, Tx...???
jaredhamburg replied to Texas cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I hope Enchantment of the Seas is a ship that starts up in Galveston when cruising begins. I don't see any problems with RCCL using a couple chips at Galveston as Carnival is planning on staring with three ships from the same port (I do understand that they use different piers which could affect this....) -
Excursions in Cozumel and Grand Cayman
jaredhamburg replied to shannon622's topic in Shore Excursions
In Grand Cayman, take a taxi to any of the areas along 7 Mile Beach. We liked Royal Palms. We cheap to get into (a few bucks a head in USD). Thanks! Jared -
Vaccine timeline update
jaredhamburg replied to ScooterScott22's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I just really hope thorough testing is done during fast tracking with comparisons to placebo groups and other treatments via a meta analysis.......Please do not construe this as doubting their medical acumen and care, but I think the world's governments will most likely push this to the forefront as soon as possible..... -
Hi! Was the walking tour through Royal Caribbean or a different company? Thanks! J

Thanks! The British Colonial Hilton sounds nice because we do not have to wait for ferry/boat rides. Plus, my kids are super please to just have water and sand. Matt's review on this site made it look pretty good.

Thank you! I will take a look at them.
