  1. As a city girl I’d never leave my luggage in the car overnight, even if it were out of sight in the trunk.
  2. As with any major city watch for pickpockets. Actually don’t watch for them, you’d never see them, instead keep your hand on your purse and wallets in the front pocket, make it difficult for them.
  3. That occurred on Oasis last May. I don’t use butter but my table mates were disappointed in the pats of butter saying it didn’t taste right. I imagine it may have been an unsalted butter but I have no idea. My concern was the one night I chose to have bread I could have knocked someone out with it.
  4. I flew into IAH and stayed at a hotel that offered an airport shuttle. Shuttled back to the airport the morning of the cruise and took the Royal Caribbean shuttle (able to book that by telling Royal I was flying in the day of the cruise). Royal shuttle did not leave at 9:30 as I was told-they did not have enough people so we had to wait til almost 12 to leave the airport., which was disappointing. My upcoming cruise I booked Galveston Express to take us to the port, I’m hopeful they will leave from the airport on time.
  5. I could not find the post with this discussion but thought it had been “settled” that Diamond vouchers were valid on disembarking day. on my May 23 Liberty sailing I was told “it’s a new policy that the Diamond vouchers cannot be used on disembarkation day”. When I ordered my iced coffee at cafe promenade. I questioned this because I had just done this on my May 7 Oasis sailing. He, gave me the coffee-did my tip$ showing help? im back on Liberty and inquired of this new policy. They reached out to the beverage head who stated something to the effect that we cannot use the voucher on the last day and coffee is provided in the lounges on the last day. Additionally something to the effect they are awaiting clarification on this policy but as it stands this went into effect on March 10 this year. I’ve not experienced this new policy in April or May on other ships. does anyone have info on this? It is not in writing, as the C&A ambassador tried looking.
  6. Depends on length of sailing. 4 day cruise no. I don’t recall 5 day, 6 day. 7 day or longer yes.
  7. I’m currently on Liberty and the one lady at our table is gluten free. They bring her her own plate of gluten free bread and she has enjoyed a gluten free dessert every night. They look pretty amazing.
  8. I can understand your concern. Royal was put through the wringer during Covid. They need to pay back massive loans, and when you add in the cost of inflation it’s a recipe for disaster if they didn’t cut corners. Overall demand for sailing is up. Yes, the regular Royal patron will notice the difference and may even vote with their feet but that’s not the current case. The alternative was to keep spending as was and go deeper into debt, then what? I’ve been fortunate to sail almost monthly since the restart. Sadly the food isn’t always up to par,. I was on Symphony during its transatlantic and had plenty of lousy meals. However I’ve been on other ships and most meals have been good, with some exceptions., and I’m glad I’m not saying most meals have been bad, with some exceptions! Perhaps give a different ship a try. The smaller ships seem to have better quality/consistency of food.
  9. I’m on Liberty 9 night out of NJ. No cheese plate on the menu.
  10. Do those comp offers allow you to enter a next cruise reservation # if you had one?
  11. I’ve read if people boarding with a pic of their birth certificate. I believe this just happened on my current cruise. Someone got to port without their birth certificate and had someone send a copy to them via phone. Not something I’d want to try though
  12. Symphony shows would be different. When the entertainment opens to book be ready to book : Hairspray, -Hiro(aqua show), ice show and the comedy club
  13. Thankfully you have travel insurance! this is a fan page, not an official RC page. Personally I doubt they will do a switch, but you won’t know until you ask. Maybe email the CEO? [email protected] and plead your case. Include reservation #, ship and sail date as well as desired replacement, it can’t hurt.
  14. Yes, you can book for 2, you both pay port fees and taxes as well as gratuities. if you hit prime level there’s a good chance you will have other free cruise offers in your Club Royale account. check www.club Royale offers.com
  15. Cruise planner, port fees/taxes as well as any gratuities are refunded automatically when the cruise is cancelled, or not paid for or a person no shows after final payment.
  16. Currently on Liberty, I was not given a choice. I’d prefer evening. Once I leave the cabin for dinner I’m rarely back before midnight. I was speaking with my attendant. He’s got 25 cabins total encompassing 2 decks. I feel bad for him.
  17. Couldn’t think what to call it those who seem able bodied are sent up the ramps , to walk from pier level to deck 4. Those who use scooters/wheelchairs and maybe canes…use the “exit” to the pier and walk/roll on, I believe deck 1. My MIL IS close to 80, heavyweight and has breathing issues. She doesn’t appear feeble and asked to use that handicap exit and was sent up the ramp. Lots of people with health issues were stopping to catch their breath. I am not familiar enough with Baltimore to know about handicap off loading. The parking lot was right by the building, I imagine handicap parking is closest to the building
  18. Does travel insurance cover this? It seems it might be wise to book refundable air in case travel insurance doesn’t cover the cancellation. When Royal has cancelled people due to overbooking the airfare reimbursement is laughable.
  19. Baltimore port warning. This has been my experience and of course others may have experienced something different: embarkation, you will walk ramps from the terminal up to deck 4 or 5 (don’t recall which) unless you can gain access to the handicap lane which goes from the pier level directly onto the ship. it is the same when you disembark, you Que based on your check in time. If it is freezing out, know they will keep you in your pen for your embarkation time. if you gamble the casino I’d not open the first night (or was it super late? I don’t recall exactly)
  20. I have that problem. Your email is likely linked to someone else, that’s their story. I call almost monthly to get my email unlinked. It’s so bad that at one point they changed my email address to a friend and she was receiving my emails and survey for a cruise. A year prior I received her cruise invoice., I was not on her cruise. I’ve emailed the CEO on 2 separate occasions to get this rectified, it is fixed for about 2 weeks. They have managed to get me the celebrity emails though. Good luck!
  21. My TA to Barcelona must have been the unusual one. Exiting the ship to be processed by immigration? Was awful. It took almost an hour, I think the 4 people processing our half of the ship needed coffee. the airport was also a nightmare, despite doing checkin on the app the lines for Delta “ checkin already” line was painfully slow. Their very long line of people who needed to check in was processed quickly. Then was security and another line for ?(passport control I think) Don’t be fooled and think once you’ve passed security you have time to shop in their gorgeous shopping plaza, you still have that other line to do. (Passport control?) Be prepared to stand, a lot. By the time I finished all the lines I had less than a hour for my 11:15 flight. If I had to do it again I would not have taken the Royal shuttle as I felt the wait on that bus for other passengers going through the long disembarking line slowed the bus leaving the port.
  22. Chance=available cabins+highest bid.
  23. If done via the app, nothing if you don’t want to do the work , just select a check in time. Or, if using a passport you can scan it or manually enter the number. online via the website, if you choose passport you must enter the info before you can proceed. Then it will ask for contact info, address, email address, credit card info etc. at some point you can upload a photo, or take a selfie shot etc. if you don’t upload the pic they can take one at the pier. In fact if you don’t enter your passport they can do that at the pier too but it does save time to do it ahead of time
