  1. OP to answer your question, you won't be automatically moved or repriced. At most you will get taxes, port fees and gratuities back if one or more guest cannot make it.
  2. I enjoyed your last blog, so keep up the good work. Traveling solo means I see/experience shenanigans a lot because I'm interacting with strangers or they interact with me . I also bring an electric toothbrush but also a basic Reach one. I am a big believer in bringing everything you need just in case. It's just my needs happened to be minimal. Truthfully I usually have two/three packing cubes for most trips and maybe three/four for trips two weeks or longer. That maybe fills one side of my luggage, the rest is stuff I can't function without like fans, snacks, first aid, renuzit cones, etc.
  3. Calling and having it priced matched is an option. However, it might be better to rebook under another person's name and then cancel as when you cancel it goes right back into inventory. There are a couple of stories of people who cancelled and lost out because another person snatched it up.
  4. I play slots, I like the bonus games and other stuff, it's my entertainment. I haven't spent thousands, but I set my cap at the price of a decent 7N cruise when it comes to making prime. @DoomSlayer posted a link to how to make prime and I list what 2023's prime cost me.
  5. Just think by also booking things early, you have paid. I love paying my stuff outright, not the fare because I can still earn interest on that, but excursions and CP items. There has yet to be a time where I wasn't happy, I brought my refreshment or dining package early.
  6. I sail Wonder Jan 2024, that's 285 days away and everything but my internet is booked. I know that won't sell out, so I will wait for a black Friday deal.
  7. I cruise in less than a week and plan to earn my 2024 prime status on that cruise, so I will let you know if the onboard comps are solo only as well. @CrznTxn I was told as long as the offers are the same, they can be combined to get a better room. A rep said I could combine two interiors for a balcony, two balconies for a JS, etc.
  8. But based on your argument, the perception of perks is there. Even if its 5% off, they are getting something by just choosing to sail with RCI. You seem to be arguing more about what you perceive as an actual perk and not the perception. Everything cost a business something and a business is there to make money foremost than anything else. I want to know what other cruise line, theme park, or hotel beginning perks are so amazing?
  9. Up until a week ago the description said 1L bottles. It is weird that nothing is listed and yes $30+ grats for water is insane. They used to be $2.99+grats each onboard, I am assuming the price must have increased because this averages as $3/bottle with the 20% savings.
  10. Oh, thanks, I thought it would be closer to PDCC with water taxis and all.
  11. The new bottles at that price are listed as 1L so they should honor that. I have known a couple of people who sailed in March 2023 and got 1L.
  12. I don't think Royal's loyalty program differs in perks or concept from a lot of places. How many flights do I need to take before I can get a free one or enjoy lounge access? The same with credit card and banking rewards. Not to mention the food and grocery rewards. The point is loyalty, yes, some added perks won't cost the company much but when they change the smaller ones, the higher ones will also change. 30 nights on a ship is a feat so I think the benefits for Platinum and above could be a bit better. I think the drink vouchers could start at Platinum with one, then two for Emerald. I sail Mon and will cross over to D+ after my second night. D+ is the sweet spot for me, with all the perks I will be cutting my spending down dramatically.
  13. Sometimes Royal will release things in the planner for cruises over a year away and for others, 9 months beforehand could be the average. For example, I have Mariner booked for Jan 15th, 2024, and Wonder for Jan 21st, 2024. Pretty much everything is available for purchase on my Wonder sailing and only internet and PDCC excursions are available for Mariner. Sales will be hit or miss and often you might catch a deal when there is no sale per se. I check the CP probably once a day on average, just to make sure I am not missing out on something.
  14. Isn't Atlantis in Nassau? PDCC is in the Bahamas but not in Nassau, so this beach club will be located by PDCC. I imagine people will choose the cheaper one when both ports are on the itinerary.
  15. @Pooch The jumpsuit fits you nice, if you wear on a cruise/vacation your husband needs to stay close to keep all the men away.
  16. @Pooch Your service is to be commended. My first retail job was Circuit City and after one black Friday, I was done. I hate shopping but love research, so I am the go-to person when it comes to finding a deal. @asquared17 I can tell your people skills are on point. Because this blog has taken some sweet turns. I have enjoyed all the extra stuff. My brother calls all jumpsuits, onesies, as a 5'3" round person.... they are never in my future. My travel outfit is always Crocs, leggings, and a comfy T-shirt. I don't own jeans and have only worn a pair once......they turned my legs dark blue and the hypochondriac in me thought I was dying.
  17. If you are sailing out of Miami, your cruise documents will tell you the terminal. I know Freedom and Oasis are in Terminal A.
  18. 7 Days to go... Warm weather hit Chicago, it has been 70s and people are acting a plum fool. Last week I had my annual physical and today I got a hair treatment. Selfcare and living my best life! My thick curly hair will go in braids for the cruise, no fuss. Humidity and curls are not best friends. I plan to finish packing by Wednesday and complete any and all errands by Thursday. I found a ton of clearance Easter chocolates and will be bringing them for the crew, they aren't expired, just in pastel colors. I have been getting more targeted emails in regard to CP. Today I got one that says "Alicia, on this day next week, you will be on Freedom of the Seas." I thought that's a little creepy to be counting my days in CP like that. They didn't use to be so specific, maybe the interns up their game after the Premier pass fiasco. After reading @asquared17 blog and seeing her toiletries, I felt a smidge of shame. I am I not doing enough to stay looking two days over 21?????? Those commercials/ADs for Botox keeping popping up. Someone is trying to tell me something.....I mean sell me something .
  19. It is important to know what works for you. If you can manage it, keep it up. I found basic, gentle soap and some oil works for me. If I put anything else my face, it gets weird. I will be 38 next month and according to most people I don't look but two days over 21 I also have to admit seeing your beauty regiment just reminded me of how not girly I am. No makeup, no heels, no jewelry .......I love me a good dress though.......but it has to be simple. No cleavage, sparkles, poofiness (my made-up word), truthfully, I like dresses because they are one and done. Just pull over or on......done. This is how I survive with a carry-on.
  20. Yes. RoyalUP is a 3rd party, the deal is they always charge for 2 no matter how many people are in the room.
  21. This may not happen when the new cost of the DX is higher. I have barely seen $70 on older ships.
  22. I have known a few people who had to eat night one's cost because of the cancelation policy. For a while people had a good run of being able to do this. The trade-off for getting the deal is you have to wait to book onboard. I also think it is a crew members bane, they know that they will have so many covers when people purchase the dining packages. By doing this you are taking away another paid reservation and holding two spots. When you cancel to honor the discounted package, you are messing with the venues revenue by holding another paid spot they could have sold.
  23. I tend to find in general cruise people are more on their vacation than anyone. As long as everything that should be covered is, at most a few stares. Live your best life, even if rolls are falling out
  24. I saw this offer and wondered the same. It makes sense from the casino standpoint. Usually the second person has no rank in the casino and often doesn't play. So by only offering comp offers for 1, they hedge bets.
  25. Since the CK menus don't change, you can look up the menus on the app.
