  1. Doesn't Enchantment fall into the "dry dock every 2.5 years" category ?
  2. We have not had any real issues with parking in Miami (I assume you're talking about Terminal A since you mentioned Icon). Yes, the parking garage was crowded, but never so much that we couldn't find a parking spot. In fact, our last cruise out of Terminal A, we managed to park in the closest possible parking space to the elevators on Floor #2 (I have a handicapped parking permit though). We arrive early - between 9-9:30 and have always found a parking spot within a couple of minutes. NO WAY would I do the WPB/train thing. WAAAYTOOO much work.
  3. I’m going to be on EX for 23 days (Miami) next month and have decided to use Premier parking 250 SE 3rd St Miami (305) 220 2686. Honestly, I cannot recall exactly how much is it costing, per day, but I think it’s less than $15/day for the covered parking option. They have a shuttle to take you to the port and back to the garage. We usually just park at the terminal but $35/day for 24 days is just toooo much. I know that this option is less than half of what it would cost at the Royal parking lot. You do need reservations at Premier. Sorry but I don’t have any experience with offsite parking at Port Everglades.
  4. I love this story. When I was a young lady (too young to drink alcohol, for sure), my father told me that anytime I felt like I wanted to drink alcohol, please to come to him, first and that he would let me have whatever I wanted. Guess what...I never did. To this day, I believe that this is the reason that I have no interest in alcohol at all. I never had that "...sneak around to drink..." fixation. Obviously, once I was old enough to drink on my own, I did not bother my father with it (LOL) but I just never had the urge to sneak around and drink behind my parents' backs and I still really do not enjoy drinking alcohol. Sure, I will drink a glass of champagne from time-to-time and maybe even a cocktail, but I SO hate the way I feel the next day when I drink too much that I just don't do it.
  5. I hope they come to their senses and continue to allow check-in online. I have NEVER successfully checked in via the app. It's worthless.
  6. I guess I'm an outlier as I really enjoyed OceanAria (Allure). I really do not enjoy the aqua shows that just do a bunch of stomping and splashing. I thought OceanAria had more diving and swimming than the others....but in the end, they are all pretty much the same, anyway. I recall thinking that the one with the all-female cast (is that Symphony ??) was a little underwhelming but I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that the cast is female....it was just a way for me to recall which show seemed less impressive than the others.
  7. Thanks for the info, Ashley. I had JUST about decided to cancel and go with the terminal parking, but now I feel confident in keeping what I have ! Very helpful.
  8. Just today I booked at Fulton Place (Port of New Orleans) 901 Convention Center Blvd. 504-269-7296. I’m not entirely sure if this is THE Port of NO parking or just an offsite parking location. I have never been there so I have no clue about whether it’s good, bad or indifferent. The cost is $19/day and with taxes and a service charge (no idea what that’s for) the total for 8 days is $176.79. If anyone has any info on this location, I’d love to hear it. We’re staying at the Hilton Riverside which appears to be nearby. I checked out hotels that would let you park for the duration of the cruise but none of them were places I wanted to stay so we’re splitting our parking up between hotel stay and cruise parking. Our cruise is Nov 16.
  9. Yes. This was a "thing" a couple of years ago. Hadn't seen it in a while though. YIPPEE !
  10. If you’re looking for liquor or cigarettes, St. Maarten is your place !
  11. I noticed a slight price drop for the Coco Beach Club. It’s still more than I will pay but it was below $200 PP. I think it may have been my upcoming 5-5 cruise on Wonder but I’m not positive.
  12. If you wait until after final payment date has passed a much larger (than $100 PP) penalty will be applied. If you must move your cruise make sure you do it before the final payment date.
  13. I've noticed the same thing although I had no idea the reason....but even when I am on THEIR computers in one of the lounges or in the Voom kiosk area, I can get onto all of the website my little heart desires EXCEPT for royalcaribbean.com. So lame
  14. What are those little white things ? Are they white chocolate chips ?
  15. I don't normally notice the wagering at the craps tables (although I love to play craps, I normally do not, on a cruise) but in general, no, I don't recall the minimums being $5. I have seen some reduced minimum wagers during specific hours (usually early right after the casino opens until maybe noonish) but normally not a standard "anytime" bet. I might actually play some craps if I found a $5 table !
  16. [que the Twlight Zone music] I was just thinking about you this morning, Joe. Glad to hear from you. Looking forward to that live blog on OY !
  17. Oops....I guess I misunderstood. I thought they were talking about the hotel where she stayed pre-cruise. I'll shut up now...
  18. To find out how many “points” you have, go to the BofA website and click on “rewards” at the top of the page. It’s not real easy to find as it is in small text. I guess they don’t like to make it too easy to redeem your points !
  19. What makes you think there is no sales pitch ? The first thing that popped into my mind was, “…timeshare…”.
  20. The only thing that I use an adapter for are phones and iPads. They seem to have the best internal dual voltage/conversion capabilities. I never ever use one for a hair dyer or curling iron….even devices that claim to be dual voltage.
