  1. This is great information ! Thanks
  2. In fact, none of the radiance class (except for Brilliance) or Vision class are on there. Maybe it's the category of refurb that they've listed. Some are major dry docks and some are minor refurbs.
  3. I used to do this...book out as far in the future as possible, but now with the suites being all non-refundable, I can no longer do that. Also, changes in the rules for casino prices have forced me to make more short-term plans. We'll have to see if it works out or not. I know it has definitely caused me to cut back on the number of cruises I take.
  4. Welcome to the blog ! Sorry to hear this. It's unfortunate, given that it is ALL Royal's fault. This website monstrosity is unpardonable. I would be irritated, too. There's no way to predict when a sale might pop up. Just keep looking.
  5. No, I don't think there will be a phone number that would be associated with the ship. Just do your best. If you know, before you leave in the morning, that you are going to miss your dining reservation, call and cancel before you leave. But if you think you will make it back in time but just don't....well, they will wait 15 minutes and then give your table to someone who is waiting. It's a courtesy but sometimes missing your reservation just can't be helped. Do your best and enjoy the ability to be spontaneous !
  6. Bummer. You will be getting off as we're getting on.
  7. My guess is the answer to whether you can give your daughter a drink on either your package or your Diamond coupon is "no".
  8. This sounds very ominous. Not in a good way....
  9. If you wait until you're onboard, the most popular Barefoot cabanas will definitely be gone. If you don't care which one you get this might work. I don't see them allowing you to do this without paying the price difference though
  10. On Allure last Thanksgiving we were in a "hump" balcony on 8. I loved being on Deck 8. We were also on 8 when we had our first 2 BR ATS. 8 is great because of its proximity to Central Park. I will not, however, stay in one of the hump balconies again. While the extra deep balcony was lovely, it is a LONG walk to get to those hump balconies. Because the hump balconies are located "behind" restaurant row, you must go either all the way forward or all the way aft to get to the hallways and then walk all the way back to the hump area. I have the same aversion to the ATS now. If you don't mind walking, they are great rooms but for me. No thanks.
  11. When we have traveled in Star Class, which includes wifi, each of us got our own login code. We never tried to add additional devices (we only used our ipads, never our phones) so not sure what would happen if we tried to have all 4 devices going at once. I doubt it would have worked.
  12. That's right. Don't let them figure it out !
  13. Is this a B2B for you ? Are you staying on for 8-15. We will be on 8-15 April.
  14. I've never even seen this page !! I will try later today. Thanks !
  15. Yes, you can take food from elsewhere into the pub. No problem
  16. First, congratulations ! ...and welcome to the blogs. Whether or not you go to Atlantis has much to do with how long you will be in port. Many Nassau stops leave by early afternoon and since the Atlantis tours don't normally start until 9 or 10, it doesn't really give you very long in Atlantis. So, if you are going to be there well into the late afternoon, I would say it's a viable option. If you are leaving port in the early afternoon, I would say save it for another time. I have only done a trip to Atlantis once and I will say that it was VERY crowded. There were busses to take you to the resort and they were jam-packed with people from all cruise lines. The lines were long and it was a poorly organized trip, logistically. The resort is beautiful. When we went, the aquarium was included in the excursion but I think they have since dropped that from the itin so not sure if it's still included or not. Personally, I think the only way to enjoy Atlantis is to go on a land cruise and stay there...but that's just my opinion.
  17. Yes, the only rule is that at least one original name must remain on each reservation. So you can change 1 person in the room but at least 1 of the bookees ( I know there's no such word !!) must be the same as what was originally booked.
  18. I tried to go to checkin to see my seapass and that link did not work. Hope they get it working in the next week or so. I have to print it out along with my luggage tags.
  19. I have no idea if there is a real competition for these cabanas or not. The last time we got a cabana (when we got the Beachfront one) we just said that's what we wanted and we got it. With the prices going up the way they are I just keep thinking that at some point the prices will be so outrageous that nobody will get them anymore...but I guess we haven't reached that threshold yet ! I will say, though, that I think being Star Class definitely helps since they get the first choice for cabanas. I've never tried to get a cabana when I wasn't SC so I don't know how hard it is to get one - especially one that you really want - if you are not SC. This is a horrible thing to admit but nobody is listening so I will tell on myself. Honestly, all we ever do in the cabana is take a nap anyway. I'm not much of a beach person so I just stay in the cabana where it's shady. Dan will go swim for a bit but then he comes back and we both take a nap. Expensive nap for $595 if you're in an OTW cabana. Probably will just forego the cabana from now on. The first time (when we had the OTW) we were with friends, who split the cost (it was then $495) so it wasn't too bad and we did at least stay awake and chat but when it's just the 2 of us, it's snoozeville. I can stay on the boat and do that !
  20. Thanks ! Never thought of doing that. I'm so tech-challenged !!!
  21. The convenience fee is the charge for giving you cash/chips at the tables and charging your seapass account. So if you want, say, $200 worth of chips and you have no cash, they will charge your seapass account $210 and give you $200 worth of chips to play with. There is no charge for cashing out the chips, ever. If you bring cash and only play with cash there is no charge for anything...but if you don't want to carry a bunch of cash onto the ship, you can just use this method to play and if you don't lose (BIG if !) then you can always pay off your seapass account before disembarking. The way to get around the fee is to become a VIP Club Royale member ! As I said earlier, the rule has always been....that if you earn at LEAST 1000 points then on the next cruise, you will receive free drinks and a waiver of this 5% fee....but with the changing program rules, I have no idea if this will continue to be the rule, going forward, or not. There is also a way to set up an "account" with the casino, prior to embarking, but honestly, I have no idea how this works. We have never even considered it.
  22. Wonderful blog ! Sorry it's over, but thanks for taking us along !
