  1. Hmmm...I think I had a confirmation number immediately the last time I used A2S (Feb of this year). Seems like it was in my booking confirmation.
  2. I have never had any kind of issue when using a credit card on Royal (except for the time that we forgot to tell the CC company ahead of time. Never made that mistake again). Our bill is usually in the $15-20K range when we finally disembark and we’ve never had a hold or maxed out our credit or anything of the like. Maybe it’s the difference between using a CC and a debit card ?
  3. This is one of those AI IT things that happen from time-to-time. It’s hard to determine whether it’s a great deal on the “you pick” option or a crappy deal on the “we pick” option. It helps if you’ve been watching prices and know what the “going rate” has been in the past.
  4. Welcome to the addiction! While I have never felt unsafe in town in Falmouth, it’s just not a particularly relaxing and enjoyable place to wander around. If you are on an organized excursion, it’s fine (although many Falmouth excursions are a fair distance from the port (1 hour, for the most part)) but immediately outside of the compound in Falmouth isn’t a cheery place to walk about, IMO.
  5. Unfortunately, no. The doors to the stateroom hallways are closed so there is no access to the hallway.
  6. I find it’s rather hit-or-miss with the gratuity envelopes. Frankly, more times than not, we do NOT get the envelopes but we tip as we go so it’s never a problem.
  7. +1 Sometimes servers will give you a can and sometimes they won’t. Usually they will but I went round and round with a bar attendant at the WJ one day. I just walked away and then got my can of Coke from one of the wandering servers.
  8. If price is not an issue, I would always choose an ocean view balcony. The balconies are bigger and they are more private BUT the neighborhood balconies can be a bargain sometimes. I’ve cruised in both and I have never had any issues where I would worry about cruising in either, again.
  9. Agreed. Not a dumb question at all !
  10. The "Big" shows (musicals, ice skating, Aqua Theater, etc.) remain the same for many years....they don't change those. The Headliner shows - comedians, jugglers, etc. change regularly. There is really no way to know for sure what your Headliners are going to be but you can email [email protected] and they will give you whatever information they have for your sailing. Just remember that they change things on a minute's notice and acts could easily change before your sailing. Actually, you are at a great time (3 weeks prior) to get this information. If you inquire too far ahead of time the chances of the lineup being accurate is lower but at 3 weeks out they probably have a pretty solidified schedule. Good luck !!
  11. Yes, I think it only works for the balcony rooms and not sure it even works on the Q class at all !
  12. The Boiled Crab looks incredible ! We both love oysters on the half shell.
  13. I love, love, love this picture ! It brings back SO many <not so> wonderful memories of the delightful female teenage years. I feel so sorry for you, knowing what’s coming ! Only teasing. If you all manage to live through it, teenager-ness is wonderful ??. That which doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger, right ?
  14. I don’t believe that they will give OBC or any kind of refund for a price drop after final payment anymore (for US bookings). That used to be possible but to my knowledge, there are no refunds of any kind after final payment. If the price of an upgraded cabin falls below what you paid for your room or you want to pay to upgrade if an upgraded cabin is available, they will usually allow that - in other words, they will gladly take more money from you - but no refunds as far as I know.
  15. If you haven’t paid your final payment yet and you are already at 90 days until sailing you may not still have a reservation ! You’d better check quick. I know of no advantage for checking in early.
  16. I’ve learned from experience never to buy expensive items on board. If you’re looking for good jewelry at good prices, save your money for St. Thomas.
