In nearly 50 cruises with Royal Caribbean the worst thing I've encountered was a drawer with the previous occupant's underwear in it. We found the room attendant and had it removed but never have I ever been concerned about bugs. If there WERE bedbugs in that room at any time and Royal Caribbean was made aware of it, trust me, the entire room would have been fumigated and the mattresses tossed.

In both Bayonne and Miami we kept our bags with us through security. Granted, we were Star Class, but I don't think that made any difference. I believe the security scanners are all the same. It was tight for our biggest suitcase but they all made it through - both times. Having said that, I do not recommend that you keep your big luggage with you through security unless you are going to be going straight to your room. Even if you are going straight to your room it could be a real PITA b/c trying to wheel big luggage through the ship and up and down elevators is a real nuisance. I don't recommend it but I do think it could be done.

Frankly, we rarely get off the ship in Bermuda anymore.

I wondered the same thing. Maybe when they scan your passport they can screen for applicable ports of entry. I have no idea.

There is just no way of telling when they are going to throw a new "sale" out there. It seems as if Federal Holidays are a good excuse to do it...but nobody really knows.

The going price for every one of the cruises I currently have booked is $55 per person per day. Last week most of them were $51. So it sort of appears that the $55 is the normal price with $51 being the “sale” price. I think the days of $4X.00 are gone.

Wow. This is a surprise. I have sailed on Grandeur more than any other ship and I have never, ever heard this. Were you physically restricted from using the elevator or did they just announce this ? We always do self assist disembarkation b/c I have to take Dan straight to work when we get off the ship. I have never heard of self assist people being prohibited from using the elevator(s).

A number of years ago, we were in the MDR sitting with another couple who happened to be from Holland. The husband remarked that the ship was using butter from his home town in Holland !! It was the small, individual, wrapped pat butter, not the butter that comes in the big crock. Not sure if they are still using that butter or not but, for a while, at least, they had butter from the Netherlands.

It is not on the Izumi menu as an upcharge item. I have seen it on the MDR menu and Chops, but nowhere else that I can recall. Again, if this is something that you really want, there is no harm in asking ahead of time. I have found that they are willing to do most anything you want if they know ahead of time and have time to prepare.

Yep. I was at the base too...and it is a bit of a trip, but worth it.

No. The only way to get lobster on the non-lobster night is to order it from the upcharge menu.

It's really hard to predict BUT if there are still rooms available then I don't see the harm in letting the 90 day point pass and see what happens.

A number of years ago, during one of the Blog Group cruises, the SL on Allure had a couple of single malt Scotches that Dan could not fine anywhere else. As I recall, he and Billy share a few up there !

Considering what they charge for “reserved seats” in the Promenade for NYE, $150 for the SuperBowl isn’t really that steep. This is coming from someone who could not care less about ANY sport and plans to do anything BUT watch the SuperBowl....it’s just an observation.

It’s simply amazing to me how quickly they get so much work done !
