  1. Sh*t, Joe ! I’m so sorry to hear this. I was sure you were healing up just fine. What a huge disappointment. I guess it was worth a try but I’m so sorry that you’re back where you started. When will they do the full skin graft ?
  2. Same here. This has been the rule on all of our SC cruises HOWEVER, I will say that for our Harmony cruise with the Jim Twins, they had a party in their suite (more like a royal rumble....it was wild !) and food was coming in from EVERYwhere. We had food from Sabor, the MDR, all of the specialties. We finally had to start turning food away there was so much.
  3. I wasn't able to choose seats when I made my reservations yesterday. Not too worried about it since I plan on upgrading in April anyway.
  4. It is questionable about whether the new boarding hours will accommodate embarkation day lunches or not. If boarding doesn't even start until early afternoon, I wouldn't think that there would be time for lunch. Most of the sit-down venues are usually open 12 - 2 on boarding day. I hear chatter about general boarding not even starting until after 2:00. My guess is, that for a while, at least, embarkation day lunches are going to be finito. In the past, embarkation day lunch has been a big treat. Will be sorry if it goes away for the immediate future.
  5. Wow... Very excited to see the North Star go out over the side. They don’t do that at all anymore in NA. Very cool. I would have paid for that, too.
  6. You could try paying in full but I doubt that would work. I suspect that Royal would decline accepting payment on a cruise that has been cancelled. If you choose the 125% FCC, it will be based on the value of your deposit.
  7. I just did this yesterday ! We are not staying in a hotel (flying in on cruise day) so I can’t help you with hotel info....but we did book air through A2S. It was very easy for us as we are just flying from Miami. Obviously your air would be much more complicated but I feel confident that A2S is the way to go for you. The airfare booked through A2S is completely refundable up until you make final payment at which time it becomes non refundable. You do not pay your airfare until you make final payment. Airfare comes 2 ways - either booking a regularly scheduled flight with the airline or a charter flight. Prices will vary so you just have to call and see which works out best for you. We went with a charter flight for the moment b/c the regular airline itineraries are not yet out for our sailing (we are more than 330 days from sailing) but once we are within the 330 window I will call back and see if the regular airline scheduled flights work out better. If they do, I will change. If they don’t I will keep what I have. I have a phone number for A2S but I don’t think it will help you, in Oz. Good luck.
  8. If you happen to pass by the casino, I would be interested in knowing what distancing protocols have been implemented. Please do not go out of your way...just if you happen by. Thanks !
  9. I’m not real comfortable with heights either but I was pleasantly surprised at how uneventful (for me) North Star was. I think, b/c it is such a smooth movement, I hardly even realized I was going up. I really enjoyed NS. I think we went up 3-4 times during our 2 cruises on Anthem.
  10. I called and it took less than 5 minutes. 844-278-9745
  11. I just booked R/T from MIA for our 20 Feb 2022. It is an AA charter. I guess charter flights don't offer First Class so it's an economy flight at the moment but the Agent told me that there is no penalty for me to call back when I am within the 330 day window and rebook FC on a regular AA flight. Not sure I will do this since this [charter] fare is already over $1K....which I think is outrageous from MIA, but I will know more after the first of April. No harm in asking. They also had a Swiss Air charter but I don't know what that fare was since I prefer AA. I've had no problem with AA since they started allowing no-questions changes. That has been a godsend for me since we had so many flights cancelled since the beginning of the plague. I still have a few air vouchers hanging out there but we also have quite a few fly-away cruises booked so I should be able to use them up with no problem as long as cruising starts back up in the relatively close future.
  12. Yippee ! You made it. Time now goes at light speed. Enjoy yourself and fill us in when you can. Have a great and awesome time ! ???
  13. I absolutely agree with you. I think I get just as much pleasure out of planning....and then the cruise comes and it goes by SOOOO fast.
  14. Yes, this is the "extra" door that lead to the Grand Panoramic Suite. I was told that they added that extra door to cut down on the noise from the Coastal Kitchen...but that doesn't really make sense to me. It is a bit of an oddity that goes along with the GPS though.
  15. Thanks, Joe. Really looking forward to visiting your country. It’s been on our “list” for many, many years. I’ve been to London but never to Scotland or Ireland. I really cannot wait for this one !
  16. We recently booked the Voyager TA from Copenhagen to Boston (Iceland, Greenland). Yesterday we booked Jewel R/T from Amsterdam going to England, Scotland and Ireland. We will spend 4 days in Northern Europe getting from Amsterdam to Copenhagen and turn those into disjointed S2S. We will stay on for the first Voyager Canada/NE in Boston.
  17. Here's something else I learned from Joyce (as I mentioned in another posting/another thread. Joyce was a wealth of insider information !), the Genie will NEVER respond in writing OR on the phone with an answer that would contradict their "rules". So if you write to Eli or even call her and ask her to do something that is technically against the rules, my guess is that the answer will always be NO. They can't afford to have anything in writing that contradicts the rules. HOWEVER, once you see them in person and they can chat privately with you, they will do whatever they can to accommodate you. So, my guess is she will say "no" to reserved seats at the MH. BUT by at least bringing it up prior to boarding she will be aware that you want to go to the concert and she will be thinking of ways to make it happen for you. If they don't know what you want, they can't do it for you. So be prepared for "no" but also be aware that she will hopefully be able to "work something out" once you're on board.
