  1. @Pima1988......is that an option? I thought you HAD to cancel before the site would allow you to book again?
  2. Down to $44 for our October cruise, and DBP with VOOM is $52. Might have to jump on that one. I also tried to save on the Coco Beach Club, down from $79 to $68, to $59. So I cancelled and went back to book and it now says SOLD OUT.
  3. We use a relatively inexpensive lightweight hardsided luggage set. They have wheels, retractable handles, and can expand if needed and easily fit under the bed on the ship. Each of the 3 bags that comes with the set can easily fit into the larger bag which makes storing on vacation or at home a breeze. We gave each of our kids a set when they graduated high school and our daughter said it was the best and most practical gift that she received. We bought them on a website that rhymes with COUPON.......not sure if I am allowed to say the name?
  4. @Ogilthorpe.............I think you're correct and hopeful for a positive outcome with the protocols for RCI. Let's get back to sailing people!
  5. I think this is a very encouraging response that NCL has created. I do wonder if the masks will be added at a later date if mandated by CDC/WHO.
  6. My Lift and Ship is not going well. Something that should have been simple, right? Spent over 80 minutes on the phone this morning with my TA and they put RCI rep on the phone. They will not allow me to Lift & Ship my Feb 2021 8 night Empress sailing to Feb 2022 8 night Jewel sailing with the exact same itinerary. They are stating that there is no such category (JS GTY) for the new sailing and now insisting I move to a 7 night Oasis sailing with different ports. The RCI rep also shared the supervisors told them exceptions will no longer be made as of yesterday. My real frustration is with my TA that significantly dropped the ball and did not make our request last week or return our emails since last Friday. Probably time for me to "Washy Washy" the whole experience and move on. Better luck to everyone else.
  7. More time with family. My wife and I are essential workers but our college and high school kids have been home since end of March! We also took up kayaking, does that count?
  8. I've been having issues with it for the past few days. Allows me to log in but can't get past that part. Everything fine when I log in from work but not at home. Strange.
  9. My TA has not tried to follow up with RCI about my GTY JS Lift and Ship so I don't have any progress to report.
  10. Can one person buy the key or does everyone in the cabin have to purchase it?
  11. Thanks @USCG Teacher.....glad you were successful. We booked a similar trip on Oasi (Oct 20) for a GTY JS. Haven't decided if we are using L & S for that one........... yet. Not feeling good about cruises from Bayonne this fall.
  12. Hi @Matt. Thanks for your helpful responses. We are currently in a GTY JS and trying to move to GTY JS the next year. Is RCI allowing GTY reservations to remain intact and moved via L & S with no additional changes or charges? Have not received confirmation from TA if we can do that or will have to change the reservation from GTY to an actual cabin. The first cruise we tried to L & S was an 8 night Empress sailing from Miami to San Juan, DR, Tortola, and St. Thomas, and we tried to move it to Odyssey in 2022 for 8 nights from Miami to Grand Cayman, Curacao, and Aruba. Our TA said it was not allowed because the new itinerary was significantly changed from Caribbean to Southern Caribbean.
  13. We are using a travel agent. We thought we could use it for the same amount of nights, same departure port, and same 4 week window (in 2022) but they rejected it because we went from Caribbean to Southern Caribbean. So we found another 8 night cruise leaving from same port, same itinerary, same 4 week window (in 2022) but our TA said we would have to pay $400 more to keep our JS but hasn't clarified why. I told TA to ask for a supervisor. Can I call Royal myself?
  14. Thanks everyone for your guidance. I will keep fighting for the Lift and Ship at same rate.
  15. Bummer about RCI cancelling all sailing through 7/31. Another question about Lift and Ship. Someone told me they had an issue moving a Guarantee cabin at same rate. Two of our sailings are Guaranteed JS. If we L & S to same itinerary a year later, are we 1>able to move to the GTY JS at same rate as our current booking 2> do we need to move the GTY to an actual cabin # for additional cost and then L & S? I'm hoping the answer is #1 but would like confirmation.
  16. Tough to choose so I'll go with a couple of guilty pleasures: Pizza from Sorrento's after 10 pm Key Lime Cheesecake from Jamie's Italian
  17. Empress in late February had an attendant for the ice cream machine at all times.
  18. Agree with all the positive thoughts on Empress, we enjoyed the crew, the laid back vibe, and ease of getting everywhere within minutes. TMI dept.....we challenged ourselves to not take an elevator all week and easy to accomplish on Empress. If we Lift and Ship, I think we have to go on Jewell instead of Empress, but seems like she's a good little ship too.
  19. Thanks @Matt. The 8 nighter makes it more difficult to find a viable replacement. Any thoughts on Jewel of the Seas?
  20. We have 3 cruises coming up (Oct, Jan, Feb) but thinking about Lifting and Shipping one or two of them. We have 7 night Oasis in October from Bayonne, 11 night Anthem from Bayonne in January, and 8 night Empress from Miami in Feb. We can drive to Bayonne but not sure that cruises will resume or resemble normal cruising in the next 6-9 months. Confidence is low. We are thinking about moving our Empress cruise (Feb 21) to 2022. Same ports but change in ship from Empress to Jewel in a Guaranteed JS. We have been on Empress but not Jewell, does anyone have experience with Jewel they are willing to share? Looks like more dining options, a solarium, and a little more room than Empress. The other thought would be to L & S our 8 night Empress sailing to a 7 night Oasis sailing with same itinerary (one less sea day) but not sure the change from 8 to 7 days will work. Or keep Empress and move our Anthem sailing to 2022. What say you, wise Royal Caribbean bloggers?
  21. Did a little searching tonight to see what happens if I push some of the cruises a year later: Our Oasis sailing in October is exactly the same next year (same port-Bayonne/itinerary) but it gets back one day after our Symphony cruise departs from Miami and there are no cruises for October of 2022 available yet. Real world problems, right? Our Anthem sailing could easily be changed out. Our Empress 8 night sailing in February is completely different a year later including leaving from San Juan (instead of Miami) and having no sea days! Interesting. I think the Oasis sailing this October from Bayonne is the one causing me the most concern but I don't know how I can move it right on top of our Symphony cruise since it doesn't appear I can move that one.
  22. Thanks @AshleyDillo for your answers about Lift & Shift. Don't want to reschedule any of our dates but nice to know it's an option. Are you confident that if we have 4 cruises booked, we can Lift & Shift all 4 of them if needed? This is one of those times I wish we had used the same travel agency for all of our bookings instead of three different ones.
  23. Trying to decipher the Lift & Shift and could use some help. Can I move my October Oasis cruise to the same sailing next year for the same price and OBC I already have? Or will it be for whatever price the new sailing is charging? Can I use Lift & Shift once per cruise or only once no matter how many cruises I have booked (4 right now)? Can I use L & S for a booking that is 18 months from now? What happens if the rates go down after I have moved a sailing via L & S.....do I still get the lower rate or am I locked in? What happens if I move a cruise via L&S and it gets cancelled too?
  24. That's great news for a lot of people......if it sticks. I am pretty uncertain our Oasis sailing from NJ the last week of October will be a go. Magic 8 ball what say you?!!
  25. Embassy Suites has a great breakfast too. Rooms are nice too. You could do the early flight after returning to the port, but it would be very tight. With the changes coming for Cruise Lines adapting to COVID19, who knows exactly how long embarkation/disembarkation might take? Might want to give yourself some cushion.
