  1. I called Royal Caribbean directly and got the details. Depending on your flight times, there should be a shuttle that you can take from the airport to the port. It is no longer free. The rep told me I have to book it through my travel agent.
  2. Thank you @FionaMG. Does that mean the form is no longer required by Italy or part of Royal's protocols?
  3. We arrive in Venice 2 days before cruise and have booked a private transfer with Get Transfers on embarkation morning.
  4. Working on our documentation for our cruise from Venice (Ravenna). We each plan to fill out the EU PLF as required by Italy. The instructions are a little confusing.....do we need to fill out an additional form because we are arriving by plane in Venice 2 days before the cruise or is just the one form for the cruise sufficient? Thank you
  5. Hope you feel better @Kirsten. Good news is that you tested positive now and not in 2 weeks. You should have plenty of time to recover and test negative.
  6. Spoke with RCI this afternoon. The agent stated I could get a transfer from Ravenna to either BLQ or Marco Polo on disembarkation day for $40 or $45 pp. I have to contact travel agent to make the request.
  7. Am I reading correctly that if you were vaccinated less than 270 days before embarkation, you will be allowed entry even if you are not boosted? We have a family member that is vaxxed but not boosted yet.
  8. Thank you everyone for your responses. I look forward to becoming a Royal Blockhead!
  9. @NewlyRoyalBuckeye....that sounds like a good plan and having 2 days after cruise in Venice will be nice. We just found out Lufthansa cancelled our flights from Bologna and now scrambling to find other options.
  10. We will be eligible to earn our first glass block on our 7 day cruise in May. With a Junior Suite booked, we will reach 140 points on the very last night of the cruise. I have read that many people receive their glass block in their room the next morning, but others have to request it. We plan to disembark first thing the next morning and may not have time to track down someone to find us a block. Looking for suggestions from experience block earners!
  11. We are sailing out of Ravenna at the end of May (2022) and will gladly share details about the experience of getting from Venice to Porto Corsini (Ravenna). We have booked a private transfer to get us from Venice to Ravenna the morning of the cruise but prepared to take the train if needed. Still working on my post cruise transportation from Ravenna to the Bologna airport. My train research showed that there are a few options involving one train, and more options with 2 trains from Veice. You still need transportation from the train station to the cruise port.
  12. Update-4/20/22-after numerous phone calls I successfully booked with Get Transfers to go from Venice to Ravenna cruise port for $288.
  13. I can confirm the walking/jogging track on Oasis ships are very nice. 2.4 laps = 1 mile. It is mostly shaded but can get hot when you are running on the side with no breeze.
  14. Is there a secret to booking with Get Transfers? They've sent me lots of offers but every time I put in credit card info to book it, it says there was a problem with the credit card. Used several different cards but same response. I emailed Get Transfer and tried to call but no response from either yet.
  15. @twangster...thank you for the informative response and guidance. None of these issues are "big" dealbreakers and the kids should be fine on their own at check in or at a different muster station during the cruise. Our goal has always been to show the "kids" as much of the world as possible and allow them to be involved in the planning of our trips. A little independence will be good for them and the "parents."
  16. I think you are correct that most JS are on the same deck on Brilliance but they still may not be same muster station. Our preference is to be closer if possible but understand it may not be possible. TA is getting us pricing for a 2nd JS to compare.
  17. Not the muster check in causing concern, it would be if we needed to go there.......again. 22 and 20. They should be fine.
  18. Our Greek Isles cruise is booked and we are counting down the days until embarkation. We booked 2 cabins, one a Junior Suite (for the parents), and one Ocean View Balcony (for the adult kids). I put in a Royal Up request for another JS, but in case that doesn't work out, I've got a couple of logistics to figure out. Right now we are on different decks and have different muster stations. Not worried about the different decks, but the different muster stations is a little more concerning. Is there anything I can do to request both cabins have same muster stations? When we board, will the "kids" be allowed to board with us in the Suites/Pinnacle line or do they have to go to a separate line for boarding? Thank you!
  19. Wasn't the murder mystery dinner a big part of cruising in the 70s? Way before my time. My ship would have more creative food and music outlets. I already like the neighborhoods they have but maybe they could use a little character. A dive bar, a music joint, a tattoo parlor, etc. We are big into music so maybe a "Song of the Seas" type ship with more live music venues......a dinner show with Sinatra or Opera music and everyone gets dressed up, a honkytonk/country bar with live music, and maybe use of the Aqua Theater for an afternoon or evening concert...even add a beach bar to CocoCay with someone singing Buffet and Chesney songs. Maybe a less formal Chef's Table experience where you make and eat the food but in half the time than the 3-4 hours it takes now. I'm thinking an open kitchen concept. An Amazing Race day or weeklong event for those that want to participate for the active sport minded (flow rider, zip line, rock climbing, ice skating, food challenges) Dodgeball tournament!!!
  20. The JS on Quantum class ships are pretty nice. The answer to your question really depends on what you are looking for.....extra space to relax, bigger bathroom, more C & A points, embarkation line with other suite guests, access to Coastal Kitchen? We like the extra space and points but only if the $$ to book a JS over a balcony are not enormous.
  21. The promotion has worked out well for us even though we would be Diamond even without it. We were the "one cruise a year" people but decided to start booking Junior Suites twice per year with the hopes of attaining Diamond by early 2021. Then COVID happened and 4 of our 5 cruises got postponed. Thanks to the double-double promotion we achieved Diamond last October, have sailed once in 2022 and have one more double-double cruise coming up end of May that will get us to 150 points (and our first glass block). Never thought we would come close to D+ but thanks to the promotion, we should get there at the end of 2023. Not a chance we will see Pinnacle.
  22. Agreed.....I'm sure they have a complex formula to extract as much money as possible. Not enough people buying a package, the amount goes down. Too much demand and the price goes up. The dollar amount is what you should pay attention to, the percentages are just a way to get your attention. Check the cruise planner often and you may be able to snag a good deal and save money.
  23. Everyone has a different experience. Some get over it quickly, others it may linger longer. My wife tested positive the middle of January and we had to cancel our cruise. But we made our next cruise last week of February.
