  1. I’m vaccinated and trust the vaccine to keep people from getting Covid, but I don’t 100% trust it won’t cause side effects down the road, so I don’t feel anybody should be forced to take it …….. My Body, My Choice, and all ….. if a potential passenger has “compromises”, even if the ship is 110% vaccinated, they probably shouldn’t take a cruise. There’s lots of other things, including norovirus, that can take them down on a cruise. In every day life you’re going to be around people who aren’t vaccinated, why should that bother you if you’re vaccinated? Just a reminder, the CDC considers between 70% to 80% of people vaccinated or having had the disease to be enough for herd immunity for pretty much every disease out there. There could be many people who’ve already had Covid among the unvaccinated. Myself and my spouse both got Covid in between our 1st and 2nd dose of Pfizer. Our 9yo son who’s not vaccinated also already had it with no worse symptoms than a sore throat and a fever for 12 hours. I was willing for us to get this experimental vaccine, but I will NEVER let my son get any vaccine that hasn’t been studied for side effects for at least 5 years or more. I totally and completely understand why some people would choose not to get the vaccine and I don’t feel they should be treated any different that anyone else. It goes back to my original point, if you believe the vaccine works and got vaccinated, other people’s personal choices of what to do with their own body shouldn’t make any difference to you. If you’re so sick or have so many pre-existing comorbidities that you can’t be vaccinated, then you shouldn’t be on a cruise in the first place, because Covid isn’t the only thing you’re susceptible to.
  2. Royal Caribbean will recommend, not require, vaccines for new cruises (EXCEPT Alaska cruises) Royal Caribbean will recommend, not require, vaccines for new cruisesRoyal Caribbean will recommend, not require, vaccines for new cruisesRoyal Caribbean will recommend, not require, vaccines for new cruisesRoyal Caribbean will recommend, not require, vaccines for new cruisesRoyal Caribbean will recommend, not require, vaccines for new cruises (EXCEPT Alaska cruises https://www.mynews13.com/fl/orlando/news/2021/06/04/royal-caribbean-will-recommend--not-require-vaccines-for-new-cruises
  3. If it’s like returning to the US from Mexico ….. You’ll have to quarantine for 14 days, at your own expense, in whatever hotel you’re ordered to stay in regardless of how expensive the hotel may be.
  4. Oh sorry, I just realized your link shows the same chart as my post
  5. Amplified dates from March 2020 and beyond are incorrect ……. But it’s a good comparison otherwise
  6. I agree, many people, including myself, are willing to and have gotten vaccinated but don’t want it pushed on their minor children who have little to no risk from covid, especially children like mine who’ve already had covid and barely had worse than cold symptoms. I’m just glad that for now, he’s below the age group (9yo) they’re requiring it for. If it comes to his age group before any of our cruises, I’d cancel before getting him vaccinated no matter how much money it would mean losing. Just my personal opinion.
  7. WOW!! This ship sounds and sounds like it could rival or maybe even blow away RCL’s Oasis class ships!! https://www.cruisecritic.com/ab/agents/variation-a/news/6156/?source=99360&fbclid=IwAR0VMCBDlQD-pZm2TpZvR24QBFqMGI7UFzlNz17IckHU8T87oQPUawHneoc
  8. Not only will the suite concierge make you pre-cruise reservations for CK, they’ll also make any specialty restaurant reservations you want pre-cruise if you have the UDP
  9. On previous cruises when there wasn’t a child price option, we would only book the UDP for the adults and then book reservations for the entire party including our son. Most times they’d charge the $10 for our son each night, but sometimes they wouldn’t …… when they didn’t charge the $10 for him, I’d add the $10 to whatever tip amount I was giving them anyway.
  10. I’d say your 4 year old probably counts towards the 8. They have a kids price and the notes section doesn’t mention anything about under a certain age being free.
  11. ‘I doubt they care how many people hang out at your cabana as long as everybody over the original 8 paid to get into the club.
  12. Another option for anybody else ….. if you call Royal and speak to a reservation agent, they’ll make the reservation and apply the FCC to the deposit for you. That’s how I made my reservations using 15 FCC’s between 3 people ……… they’ll even apply multiple FCC’s towards the same cruise when you call.
  13. it’s not really “My Time Dining” anymore if you can’t eat until 7pm or later ……. Especially if you take it thinking you can eat at 530 or 6 like before and then don’t find out until you get on the ship that your earliest choice is 7pm
  14. ‘From yesterday to today, all 4 cruises we have booked went from $68/day to now $57/day for the Deluxe Beverage Package ….. for the 2 cruises that are after Black Friday, I wonder if the Black Friday Sale would be even better? I’m going to jump on this price on all of them for now, then cancel and repurchase later if necessary. The UDP has also dropped about 25/person on all 4 of them as well from yesterday’s price.
  15. I'm wondering how the free Behind the Scenes Tours work when you’re Diamond Plus …… do they just come up as free to book in your cruise planner once you reach that level?
  16. Have you guys seen this from today about Odyssey having to stop in Spain and drop off crew members who tested positive for Covid? https://www.aa.com.tr/en/world/cruise-ship-stops-in-spain-to-drop-off-covid-infected-crew/2252686
  17. ‘That’s highly possible. I should have asked her to clarify the age for July before we ended the call since she said 14, but I didn’t think of it until afterwards since my son will only be 9 and then 10 during our cruises and we also don’t have anything booked until October.
  18. ‘Yes, she said it would be 14 and up in July and then 12 and up starting August 1. She could be wrong, if you have a child in that age range who will be cruising in July, I’d recommend individually calling RCL, and trying to get them to put whatever age they tell you for July and August 1 in an email.
  19. I just called Royal to add a cruise ….. Mariner out of Port Canaveral in December ….. before she finalized the booking, the agent said, “just to let you know, you will have to be fully vaccinated to board the ship.” Both of us adults are fully vaccinated with Pfizer so that’s not a problem. I then asked her about children and she said in July it will be 14 and up, then starting August 1, it will be 12 and up who will be required to be fully vaccinated before boarding. I told her my son will still be 9 for our October cruise and 10 years old for the other 3 we have booked. I asked what happens if the FDA lowers the minimum age for the vaccine from 12 down to to 6 years old before any our cruises, would RCL then give me a 100% cash refund of all my money paid if I decide to cancel since that wasn’t the requirement for children his age when I booked all my cruises. He’s had Covid already(so now has natural antibodies) and even though we took the vaccine, I wouldn’t let him get it without it being out and studied for at least 5 years. She told me that she believes they would refund in that case since it wasn’t required for a 9 or 10 year old when I booked. She also said that AS OF NOW, there hasn’t been any talk of lowering the age for requiring the vaccine to board the ships any lower than 12 years old no matter how low the FDA lowers the age of eligibility. I realize this needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but that’s what I was just told as of about 30 minutes ago.
  20. Just my opinion, but to me the “suite area” on Labadee isn’t all that special or nice. I’d much prefer any general area on Cococay over it. We didn’t spend much time at all in the “suite only” area when on Labadee.
  21. As of now, it’s not saying this for ANY of the 3 cruises we have booked when I do mock bookings. See photos below. My spouse and I were ok with us being guinea pigs and being vaccinated, but there’s no way I’ll let my son who turns 10 in November get this vaccine until it’s had years of study. Plus he’s already had Covid just like we did. If by our cruises the FDA allows children below 12 to receive the vaccine and RCL makes it a requirement for them as well, then I’d expect a 100% cash refund because that rule wasn’t there when I booked and I never would have booked under those circumstances.
  22. Personally, I think 7:39pm gives a much better dining experience ???
  23. Exactly. Between our first and second dose of Pfizer, myself, my spouse, and our 10 year old son all got Covid. Our son had a sore throat for 1 day and was 100% better the next day, my spouse was moderately sick for 4 days, and I had no symptoms at all. Our son obviously hasn’t been vaccinated and I won’t let him be vaccinated even when it’s available for his age. I was willing to be a guinea pig, but I won’t let my son get a vaccine that hasn’t been out and studied for at least 5 years. Plus he’s already had Covid so he should now have natural immunity.
