  1. ‘Just to clarify ….. That’s just a withdrawal of the appeal to the SC over the 11th Circuit staying the original order for Florida against the CDC, …… which is a moot point to appeal now since the 11th Circuit reversed their own original decision ….. Florida hasn’t withdrawn from anything else related to the case.
  2. Like Wordell1 said, even without Covid restrictions it was often hard for Junior Suites to get a dinner reservation in CK …… I’d keep the UDP if I were you and even with that I’d make all my specialty dining reservations as soon as you board at the first open specialty restaurant you can find or you may not even get dining times there that you want. Any open specialty restaurant can make all your reservations for the entire week at all the restaurants.
  3. if you’re cruise planner is using the NEW version of the cruise planer there’s an option to book kids for the UDP at $10/day ……. If yours has that I’d book your 10 year old as a child ……. If it doesn’t, then I’d only book the 2 adults and the 14 year old. We’ve never booked our 9yo son and never had a problem. Our thanksgiving cruise on Odyssey is the first one to have the option for $10/day for kids and is the first time I bought it for him in advance. When you make your actual daily reservations on board or with the concierge a week before if staying in a suite, just make them for the total number in your party.
  4. ‘They don’t have a roof, so that should be considered outdoors
  5. I meant to ask this earlier …….. if 2 adults and 1 child are in a family ………then 1 of the adults and the child go on the cruise that gets them all to 140 points and behind, do both the adult and the child each get a block? Next question is ……. If the adult who doesn’t come on the cruise where the first block is earned and way surpasses 140 after the cruise they didn’t come on because of the family connection …… will that adult get a block on the next cruise since they weren’t on the cruise where they earned past the 140? Lastly, all 3 of us will be on the cruise where we surpass 210 points for the next block, will all 3 of us get one? Thanks in advance ?
  6. Thank you! I booked directly thru Royal as well, I’ll give them a call. ?
  7. Are you able to just call and ask for a price adjustment? Or is there something else you need to do to use the CWC program this close to sailing and after final payment?
  8. Lavender Daquiri ……. Which is actually a martini, no idea why they call it a daquiri ….. it’s only available at the Schooner Bar.
  9. ‘As much as I HATE masks, I’m willing to go along with the “theater” for vaccinated people ONLY because of getting 4 points per night for suites which will make us hit Diamond Plus by the end of our December cruise …….. before that became an option, we had ZERO plans to go on any cruises until at least summer of 2022.
  10. Yes, we checked in as soon as it became available to grab the earliest checkin time. You’ll love Symphony, we’ve only been on her once before but she’s our favorite ship!
  11. i think you’re on the same Symphony sailing as us ……. October 16 to 23
  12. EXACTLY, it’s now all about increasing government control, destroying small business, and making you dependent on them …….. it was no accident that every big box store was allowed to stay open packed full of customers (they all made record sky high profits as well) and yet mom and pop stores that sold the same exact things were too dangerous to shop in and had to be closed. California would still be closed right now if Newsom weren’t afraid of losing power in the recall election this fall …… I bet if he survives, his lockdowns come back in no time This goes far beyond cruising.
  13. The news will say whatever gets them the highest ratings at the current moment. I’m haven’t watched tv news AT ALL since late last year and life is so much more pleasant and peaceful.
  14. Currently the only decision made by a court is that the CDC overstepped their authority ……. As of now the Appeals Court has only overturned the lower court’s stay ……… the next step is for the case to be argued before those same 3 judges on the appeals court. Regardless of how they rule, the losing party can then either ask then entire 11th Circuit court to hear their case “en banc” or they can go straight to the SCOTUS. Once the last losing party goes to SCOTUS, only then if SCOTUS refuses to heard the case would the last ruling (either by the 3 judges or the entire 11th circuit) become final. As of now, there there’s no winning by default for the CDC, if the appeals court were to eventually refuse to hear their case and then the SCOTUS did as well, that would be a default win for Florida. There’s many different combinations right now for how either side could eventually win by default if SCOTUS eventually refused to hear the case after the last decision made by the courts before it comes to them.
  15. They wouldn’t meet in person as a group ….. they’d make this decision talking however they talk when not all together ……. But that’s only if Justice Thomas were to decide to not make this decision on his own and ask for a group decision. Any justice can make stay decisions on their own for the cases brought to them from the current Appellate Court they’re overseeing. If it were to come before Justice Thomas, I have a feeling he won’t want to be the sole decision maker and will ask all the justices to vote on whether or not to allow the stay.
  16. ‘If it’s brought to them, the single justice over a certain Appellate Court CAN issue or remove a stay totally on their own or throw it to the whole court to immediately decide to issue or remove a stay as a group, it’s up to that justice how to handle it ……. This can happen even when they’re on break …. …… a final decision of a case (like what they release every June on cases heard) however will never be made in this manner …… that can only be decided after a case is placed on the court calendar and argues before the Justices .
  17. I’m willing to bet out of the 3 Eleventh Circuit Court judges randomly chosen to be on the panel who made this decision ….. that the 2 who voted in favor of allowing the CDC to continue screwing with the cruise lines were originally appointed to the court by either Obama, Clinton, or Bush and the 1 who voted against the CDC was a Trump court appointee.
  18. It means that the original judge’s ruling that the CDC overstepped their authority and that their orders would only be recommendations after today (July 18) has been stopped from happening pending the CDC’s appeal. It now means that if this case takes years to get to the Supreme Court, the CDC will be able to dictate and control what the cruise lines do for the entire time ….. unless the Supreme Court reverses the appeals court’s current stay and puts the original judge’s order back in effect pending appeal ……. Which most likely won’t happen.
