  1. @Ampurp85 I for one appreciate your candor and trip reports. More often then not everything is awesome reports are smacking me in the face. Then when I have sailed (my last 3 at least) I think to myself, is it me? Mediocrity should not be the bar especially when the pricing is sky high. Thank you for sharing with us, reports like this help to manage expectations. I for one can't wait for your tales from the Odyssey, I hope for you a great turn around day.
  2. Oh my word, just when I think it can't get any worse for you, geez. I always found the MDR for lunch to be very apathetic, like they are pissed you are dining there with so many other choices. Sounds like your experience mirrored our last MDR lunch on the Harmony. The Big Daddy Hideaway Aqua Show isn't new. They did it in 2019 on the Harmony before the shutdown. It was different and I did miss it this past July/August when they said they were not doing ot anymore. I'm glad it's back. Funny you noted basic manners.....in my estimation it's a lost art. Parents are friends with the kiddos & parent a bit different at least 100 years ago when I was a kid, the lack of mutual respect after the C is very apparent, it just makes me scratch my head. Sleep well @Ampurp85 the Odyssey is going to be amazing, sending positive thoughts your way for sure. Thank you so much for your honest report.
  3. Yay, Columbus! I enjoyed that one (saw it in 2019) and our last sailing on Harmony in July/August 2022 you guessed it....removed from the show offerings. If I remember correctly they replaced it with the juggler who made fat jokes while doing his act, "the buffet is not an excursion people" stuff like that I found very off putting. I did not enjoy that replacement for sure. I love risotto I hope it was tasty! We often skip breakfast as well even if we didn't plan on it! I'm so happy you don't have the C word! Cupcake class for $34.99? That seems really high, do they allow you cupcakes delivered to your cabin the rest of your sailing? Gees, well here's hoping you enjoy the rest of your day and that Columbus is a go. Now I know for sure it's not just me though, Royal seems to be loosing their footing a bit. I was so happy to return to the Royal Comeback but lot's of things are lacking, I get the financial situation but we ARE paying more. They are cutting crazy corners in my experience (our last 3 sailings) I'm really wondering how much of this new Royal culture on board from the new CEO is to do minimum, courting new Royal passengers is great, but not to the detriment of the over all experience of your repeat customers, hello Jason Liberty are you listening? I often wonder if some things would be better if Fain was still at the helm, okay....I digress. I hope your turn around day tomorrow is seamless... (and yes, I was done for a while taking a Royal break until I booked that last minute Serenade )
  4. Oh no! Praying you heal quickly. What an experience I'm so sorry this experience was such a mess. You have the best attitude though, stay positive.
  5. Oh no! This sounds like no matter how you try the universe is challenging you. I think from kids licking tables all the way to the smoke and migraines you are being toughened up for the next leg. After enduring all of this next weeks sailing with your friends should be an absolute breeze! Seriously, wishing for you better days ahead, I want you to enjoy what's left of this trip! Sending good vibes your way! * my allergies kick off with not only smoke but perfume, boy do I suffer when my fellow sailing passengers bathe in it!
  6. I feel the same...waiting on June 2024, anything but Icon!! Come on Royal, my credit card is vibrating in my purse.
  7. Yes, I would have booked it BUT alas already taken. I was actually shocked to get the OS as the only cabins available were junior suites. While considering this sailing over night & then checking on line to book the next day the OS appeared, I'm sure a last minute cancelation. I doubled the RU price & bid it, no way it will be available but in the slightest of chances it becomes available at least my bid is in. Everyone is sticking to a "carry on" bag & back pack; that is it this trip! Packing cubes and color scheme and/or similar color palette packing is the name of the game this sailing. We are not doing formal, smart casual is about as good as it's going to get. I really hope we like the Tampa experience, such a short drive over. Hoping to live blog this trip with lots of pics, especially the cabin which is not represented on line anywhere that I can find. Okay, back to @Ampurp85blog, I could follow her all day so refreshing and funny.
  8. I look forward to every one of your posts. I laugh every single time. Your style is fantastic. Hoping the Captain is going super fast to calm waters for you in the few days ahead. Patiently waiting more posts and pics! Have fun!!!
  9. Last minute sailing surprise! First time on this class of ship. First time out of Tampa. First time sailing as D+. First Royal Up success selection. When: November 19, 2022 Who: Three Best Friends; Hubby, Myself, 16 year old daughter. Ship: Serenade of the Seas Cabin: Owners Suite Itinerary: Tour of the Bahamas, seriously a snooze fest but I'm sailing AND I Love Sailing! One RUB placed, not holding my breath. Hoping we will enjoy sailing from Tampa.
  10. @asquared17 try manually inserting info. If it's within 30 days there might be a Royal Up opportunity here. www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade Happy bidding, so addictive.
  11. Thanksgiving sailing, these cabins sold out but I bid minimums just in case. I like the cabin that I have so there's that. Still says submitted.
  12. @asquared17 we believe when we boarded we stopped for a beverage before heading over to the muster area as it was not "open" yet (we had an early embarkation time.) I most likely said too loudly or within ear shot of a not so nice individual, "please use my Diamond drink vouchers, cabin 1724" or something to that extent as we didn't have our sea pass cards yet. On that sailing they never asked for or even looked at our sea pass when ordering using our vouchers. Someone heard that and helped themselves to about 4 free drinks a day on us! It was Royal representatives who insisted we used them when I tried to get things corrected and I asked them please shut that seapass for my cabin off, and maybe issue me another (they said no) or have the bartenders at least up there in Central Park check for the card. Someone was spoken to finally because it stopped on Thursday day 5 but it irked me that someone would do that and then I would be accused of fibbing....I get it Royal does not know me so I did insist they look for me on the cameras making those purchases, not sure if they did but it stopped. The "stolen" vouchers were always used at Central Park either bar or restaurants. I love the perk and would hate to lose it, I agree with @smokeybandit the step they put in place makes little sense, all they would have to do is physically swipe the sea pass for an accurate accounting of the allowed amenity. But we love it, we usually purchase a case of water on board and then the vouchers are perfect, when no one else is stealing them of course.
  13. On one of our previous sailings, (maybe Harmony?) in August someone kept using our drink vouchers In the bar at Central Park or the restaurants there. We were Diamond and had 4 each. By the time we arrived at dinner we would have maybe 2 left but we didn't use them all yet. We dined at CK and did not have the UDP and did not dine at Chop's the entire sailing yet our drink vouchers were being used there as well. The one day that we were in port they started being used in the evening, when whomever returned. ( I was keeping track on the TV) Day 2 I went to the concierge who said it would be taken care of, I sat there while he was on the phone trying to sort it. The other person was insisting I was fibbing and that I used them. By day 4 I went to the Guest relations desk and demanded they pull up their thousands of cameras and clearly you would see it was not myself or hubby. Again, they were very accusatory and made me feel like I was trying to get more drinks on them. The drinks were taken off & I asked they request to see the sea pass card moving forward. It was a mess. 4 days to get it sorted.
  14. THIS!!!! Following along, super invested love travelling with @Ampurp85 Can. Not. Wait.
  15. Yes, I second @teddy and @Vlad every post I read had my blood boiling for you! I am amazed at your grace @Adriana @Al Millerand am so sorry this happened to you. Thank you so much for educating us though, just in case. Never in my wildest dreams would I think of something like this occurring. I still think Royal could have handled differently, especially for her Loyal passengers participating in the Royal Come Back! Just comes across as super ugly. Lacking of customer care. OBC or refund for all those hours is minimally in order for this cluster in my humble opinion.
  16. Put yourself on a wait list for a junior suite for your sailing in 12 days, you never know!
  17. @Carlos A.I just went to my account, same here. My sailings are gone, just know it is most likely Royal IT not just you. It will probably work itself out in a few hours. Maybe reach out on Social Media or call, they should be able to give you an update. It's not just you and this type of thing had happened before, they are in there tinkering with something un be known to us.... Update, I agree with @Xaa I feel for you and also am sorry it messed with check in! Fingers crossed for you it gets back on line soon for you!
  18. The passport shows delivered? Okay, this happened to me. I went to the post office in charge of my mail, with "proof" it said delivered. They actually tracked it down, delivered to a similar address and the people had it not getting around to returning to post office. The post office personnel tracked it down and retrieved it for me. Worth a try, good luck we are all rooting for you.
  19. @Matt any idea, premonition, thoughts about fleet movements for this timeframe? Have you heard any whispers? Im concentrating on Port Canaveral, Tampa or Port Everglades (celebrity) June 2024. Thanks a bunch!
  20. I am rooting for you! Positive thoughts being sent your way. I'm following along and looking forward to this adventure. I think you owe yourself an additional sailing after this group event. Stay and do a nice solo sailing to recover
  21. Congratulations!! 45 Years? I venture to guess he already probably knows Such an incredible milestone, so happy for you!
  22. Sorry slight hijack; May I ask how does D+ on Royal translate to Celebrity? I was up super early to possibly book the Icon for June 2024 but she wasn't for me. Before anyone comes for me it's not the "family focus" that was the problem. It was just so much going on, so many colors, so many other passengers. Just way to much "stimulation?" for lack of a better description. I'm super happy for everyone of you all who are going to enjoy her, I know me and I would not. Such a personal thing, it's nice Royal really seemed to hit this one out of the park, kind of bringing the theme park frenzy to the ship. I also wasn't super excited about the ho hum Itineraries. I digress, seriously researching Celebrity now (no not Virgin, seems like an adult themed theme park) & am looking for insights for a family of 3. Thanks so much!
  23. I'm waiting for June 2024 to be released sailing from Florida. (High School Graduation Celebration sailing) Really hoping since this one is so special I can comfortably book a Star Class. I created a monster, I'm good as long as I am sailing, kiddo would love a Star journey. When on the Harmony in August I asked at Next Cruise and the young lady said December this year. I just checked June 2023 on the Wonder & the sailing for a Grand suite was 16,700.00, for the 3 of us. A 7 night western itinerary, so I am nervous about the price points for summer 2024 for sure.
  24. @tonyfsu21 Yes I believe up until 1800hrs. On our last sailing they sent me an email from Royal Up I wish I saved it. Essentially it was about 4 days before the sailing & said while your bid has not been accepted we have passed it on to the ship's crew. They may choose you for an upgrade up to 1800hrs day of embarkation. If you are not interested in this please feel free to cancel bid now. I didn't cancel and didn't unpack before going to dinner. While at dinner about 1830hrs I received an email saying bid unsuccessful. At the end of my evening before bed I unpacked. I am at 0 for 27 or 28 tries but like @Ampurp85opined I usually stay in Sky class and there is not much wiggle room from there. Something about Royal Up though, I love to bid sometimes I go in and change bids after I placed them in either direction, it's addictive I love it!
  25. We were on Deck 17 on the Harmony and one of our magnets was taken. It had dolphins and said Three best friends cruise! I was so upset but they always left the doors open to that deck. I did find it though, I walked round the entire deck, they just moved it to another door on the port side. Sadly I removed all my magnets from the door for the rest of the sailing. Some sailings it happens, I've been on a total of 18 sailings and only twice were my magnets violated. But do not put out a white board and marker. Do that and boy oh boy, just wow!
