  1. I feel like I am about to be scammed by the wife too.
  2. Can you image the uproar if they played Titanic on the pool deck one night? Now my sense of humor is pretty twisted, so I would find that hilarious, I’m sure others......not so much.
  3. Ronn Lucas was just on our Navigator Cruise in September. He was pretty funny then.
  4. It varries, but you are definately too early. Its usually with less than 12 months, though you may find some excursions may start popping up soon. For some things it will be closer to 6-9 months. Entertainment options can be even closer to the sail date.
  5. That all depends on what you are willing to pay. I would look at the cost of the internet package you are going to buy. I would also take into consideration the ages of the kids, and whether or not they would benefit with a luch from the chops menu. The priority embarkation/debarkation while nice can sometimes be no faster than just getting to the port early, or self carrying your luggage. I have not had issues carrying around my caryon luggage, I just have a backpack so i wouldnt need that benefit. 525 seems high for an internet package and a few other perks that may not be needed
  6. Have a great cruise!! I'll be following along!
  7. My favorite ship, and there are others that may give the same answer, is the ship that I'm currently on. All joking aside, you will love Anthem, I've been on her. There are a lot of fun activities and the shows and venues are great. Each ship has its own "personality" that can vary from sailing to sailing, and a lot of cruising is what you make of it. I was recently on Navigator and had a blast with the recent amplification additions. The slides are great, the food is awesome. By the end of 2021 I will have sailed on one ship from almost each class of ship in the fleet and look forward to adding more. I feel its good to experience all that RC has to offer and not limit yourself to one class of ship.
  8. I agree with the others, book on release, and consider two rooms unless you are looking at a two BR grand suite or above.
  9. This post may help https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/07/29/choosing-stateroom-your-royal-caribbean-cruise You can also go to cruisedeckplans.com and the search by ship and see pictures of the staterooms. You can try youtube as well with your stateroom number. I'm not postive that there are mini fridges in that category of room
  10. Seeing the further information posted regarding where this is all taking place, I edit my statement to, if the port has porters, drop the bags with them, then walk over to do the tour, and then when finished, check in and board the ship. Looks like a great time.
  11. This may be more trouble than its worth. You need to be on board I believe at least one hour before sail away, so if your tour runs long, or get stuck in traffic you could be denied boarding. I have never tried to get off the ship once checked in, but overall this just sounds like a missed cruise waiting to happen.
  12. I’m curious to try this as well. I have some REALLY good BBQ places near me, so this place has a high bar to meat..... If the meats are smoked on board that will make it even better!
  13. FYI, looks like Empress is going live with the App this week.
  14. I've sailed on Anthem and ended up doing the North Star on a sea day. Even looking at nothing but blue it was quite impressive. I'll be on Odyssey next fall and plan on trying to get on the North Star during a port day. Some will say book it on a port day, others will say sea day. I would suggest book for your port day in Nassau since you are staying on the ship anyway, then keep an eye on the standby lines on sea days and then you will have experienced both. I forget the sea plex schedules, we never got a chance to do the bumper cars, the times never lined up with what we were doing for the day. I would suggest scrolling through the cruise compass section and see what you can find there. Here is the type of view you get when at sea
  15. For $11.99 I would get the streaming package. It provides a better overall experience. The surf only plans aren’t that much cheaper if I recall
  16. You are correct. Empress is not supported at this time. $11.99 isn’t terrible for the streaming package. How soon is your sail date? If you are quite far out still, not everything may be populated into the cruise planner yet. 6-9 months out is when everything is usually there.
  17. This is helpful too http://www.royalcaribbeanincentives.com/content/uploads/2018-2019-Fleet_Guide.pdf
  18. I have 470 days to go until my first star class cruise, so I eagerly read as much as I can, and look forward to following along with your trip! Surprising the kids is so much fun. We had a blast with our surprise cruise and more that we took in September with our kids.
  19. Yes, I am a firefighter. If you are interested to see how the cruise went, I did a live blog that you can see here
  20. I believe that would depend on the ship you are on. My picture was from Navigator, and we were in. 2BR Grand Suite. For the other balcony rooms, I would look up the ships you are considering, then peruse the deck plans and look at the categories so you would know what to look for.
  21. Yes, I believe it is the 8 hour tour.
  22. If you are referring to the aft balconies that are along the very back of the ship, you would be looking for sailings on almost all of their ships. Some of the more affordable ones would be on freedom, voyager class ships. Oasis and Quantum class ships have aft balconies, but many are star class suites which bring a premium price. For availability, these are popular stateroom choices for obvious reasons, so the best way to book one of these, is to book EARLY! The next round of Caribbean sailings I believe will be released the week of the 18th. This is what I will be doing that week too. Refresh! This view is worth it
