Love the bridge when it’s down … Hate the bridge when it’s up.
Kinda’ the opposite of my RRSP holdings.😉

Flight was super uneventful! Yay! Got our luggage without issues. This is our biggest hold up:

$35 + 18% gratuity = $41.30 - perhaps that is the difference. ????

Not sure what the Celebrity website says, but this was an interesting development …
On Celebrity right now. The “sommelier” said last night (in the MDR) that the corkage fee was $42 USD.
That is @WAAAYTOOO much! 😉
I do not think they were surprised that the wine bottle remained on the table (unopened) for the entire meal. 😂
It appears as though our bottles might be making a close to 10,000 mile return trip home. 😂

Curt From Canada reacted to twangster in Quantum class ships departing Florida (maybe?)
I like Quantum class. Currently crossing the Tasman Sea on one before we eventually make our way up to Hawaii.
I like that deck 5 can be used to bypass the Esplanade, a feature that is missing from previous classes when at times it's impossible to move through the promenade on other classes. Icon added a promenade bypass one deck up as well.
The last couple of night I've really enjoyed sunsets from the Two bar looking aft where I took this sunset pics:
They have the best views from Coastal Kitchen of any ship in the fleet.
They also have the best solariums in the fleet.
Best Windjammers in the fleet especially compared to Oasis class WJ. The original Q class have outdoor WJ seating which I love.
Most of all I like that they are different.

Our first ship was also Radiance (our 25th Wedding anniversary). We were amazed at the lengths a Cruise Line would go to to get you hooked on cruising.
On our anniversary we made sure we ate in a Specialty Restaurant (Portofinos).
Our first date was in a restaurant in Montreal called Portofinos.
THEY HAD RENAMED A RESTAURANT JUST FOR US!!!
Best customer service ever 😉

Curt From Canada reacted to Pattycruise in How can I get my C&A account fixed permanently!!!
This loyalty ambassador was amazing. Not once did she suggest I used the wrong C&A # to book my cruises and I pulled up some of my booking confirmations to show her the proper C&A numbers were on them.
personally I wouldn’t expect the Crown Lounge or Suite Lounge person to be knowledgeable about the BS that goes on with the C&A program. I was in the suite lounge today listening to the concierge say there was nothing she could do because the people didn’t know the reservation # to the cruise they were trying to get their points on. Why not send them to the Loyalty Ambassador? There’s more than one way to look up an account!! Or at least call the LA and ask if it’s possible and then send the people there.
bonus for me is this LA was able to update my daughters missing 7 points-something she’s been dealing with over the phone for a month. . Turns out they were showing in the system correctly but needed to be “pushed through”-whatever the heck that means! She literally clicked a button and the app updated the account.

Problem allegedly has been resolved!!
Hard to describe but essentially when I travelled with a cousin a while bunch of bat and future cruises were assigned to her number/and/or a new number for me.
The LA on Icon figured it out when she pulled up my current cruise and saw the email as no reply or no name…and then I gave her other cruise reservation numbers and she found that on all of my future cruises.
So it was worked on with shore side and my points are now correct as well as my cruise emails! supposedly there will be no problems forward.
So I inquired how this could happen if every time I inquired about my crown and anchor and email , and when they were correct, there was actually a direct email in the background. Apparently it’s one of those things that can happen?
So-if you still have issues with no email showing ask them To open the current cruise if onboard, and/ or future cruises and tell them to look at what email is showing in the reservation. Apparently what shows on your account is not necessarily what is on the reservation…,
The funny part is I now have a welcome email from the casino (I’m signature) and they are giving me $100 freeplay on a currently booked sailing or a future sailing. Not going to lie I’m super hesitant to try and redeem it.

OK … this must set some kind of record. I am still convinced no one could fix this over a phone call. They would think you were some kind of scammer. In person, is the only way to credibly get the messages across and resolve this debacle. I feel for you, and only have two thoughts:
1). You are closer now, than ever, to getting this resolved.
2). Book your next meeting with the LA by the pool and have the LA bring two of your favourite drinks (obviously make sure they are doubles).
Best of luck …

Okay, all of you are making me want to return to Iceland, but this time on a cruise!!
I love the country--it is very wild and full of beautiful nature, and it is quite refreshing as compared to my regular life of big city hustle and bustle. I have been there several times over many decades.
I had my eye on a Viking one week cruise around Iceland, but now I am going to check out Celebrity.
Yes, the eclipse would be fun, but don't forget the Northern Lights or the volcanoes of Iceland--even more spectacular! Bon voyage!
