  1. My friend and I did this "tour" about a month ago on CC.  As mentioned above, it is a tour where you are in a group of about 10 or 12 and following the leader in a single file, not a free for all.

Some straight runs fast (I hit 36 "mph"), S curves, sweeping turns, ect covering a good distance.  We had fun for almost a hour.

First time cruiser with a dumb question...so I apologise...but do you pay extra for this special lobster night? And do you know if this is available on Europe sailings ?

And it is lobster tail, not a whole lobster for the "free" one.  On Adventure OTS in March, I ordered this lobster and prime rib (made my own surf and turf)...and the waiter brought me double tails and prime rib...all at no extra charge.

Though, a few weeks back, on a 3 day Mariner cruise in the Caribbean, at Chops, my friend got the upcharge lobster , and it was a whole lobster.

  3. Last summer I was on my first cruise with my sister, and her family to Alaska on Explorer OTS.

On the second night, we had dinner in the MDR.  For dessert, a bunch of us also ordered espressos or cappuccinos.

When the Assistant Waitress brought out the coffees, she puts down my nieces drink, and I start laughing out loud.   She used a small oblong gravy boat instead of a small coffee (espresso) cup.

Of course all our meals in the MDR we would look out for this waitress, as well as kept ordering espresso/cappuccinos to try and get a gravy boat again.

  4. Another possible option if you gamble a lot (and have good credit) is to get a line of credit with the casino.  I did this last summer before my first RC cruise, allowing me to withdraw money, charging it to my SeaPass card, without the 5% charge.  Then paying it off on my credit card which I get very good points with (triple points for "travel").

    Here is the RC link.

I believe, as with most lines of credit, this will put a "hard inquiry" on your credit report.

I am new to sailing with RCCC, if I book a tour/package during a sale, do I prepay for it then, or when we actually use it on the cruise?

When you book it, yes you are prepaying for it now.

My understanding is,almost everything bought on the cruise planner ahead a time can be cancelled.  So if you see something you like, at a good price, but it.

@Ken23 Royal Caribbean offers a service that will shuttle you from one terminal to the next for free.  We just did this when we got off Indy and boarded Serenade that same day.  Just ask about it at guess services. This service is only for Port Everglade & Miami..  They will take you from one terminal to the next within the same port &  different ports like i mentioned above.  Only to RCCL ships...this includes Celebrity, Azamara and Silversea.

    Thanks...exactly what I need.

The Deluxe beverage package with Voom is the Surf and Stream version. Even if you're not streaming web browsing will be a more responsive with the Surf and Stream package.

Welcome to the group on both accounts: message board and for the group cruise

Thanks @CGTLH.  After looking closer, I see in the description that it is Surf & Stream, though the title says just Zoom.

Hey @Ken23! Welcome to the boards!

So far, I only know of two FB groups for this sailing. One is from the RCBlog event page on FB. And the other is a FB roll call group that many of us are on but not run by @Matt

I am going to pass the VOOM Surf vs. Surf and Stream to someone more techie than me. However, I think the Surf&stream will be a whole lot less frustrating. We always get the surf&stream.

With the BOGO, you can adjust when you get on board. Make sure you take care of that right away. There have been some reports lately that there are restrictions placed on the venues that you can use the BOGO at. You should be able to use it at wonderland but YMMV.

    See you on board!

    Thanks.

Yes, my first mission when on board will be to make my reservations.

I will search out that 2nd FB group.

  9. Next week I start two cruises, the first being (a 3 day) Mariner from Miami cruise, and the same return day leaving from Ft Lauderdale on Majesty.

Any good ideas besides Uber/Lyft getting from the first to the second cruise.

It will be myself and one friend.  I thought maybe take a shuttle/transfer from the Miami port to FLL airport, and then Uber from FLL airport to the FLL port.

    Anybody do this before?

    Thanks

  10. First, a little background, for my first post here.

I have been a lurker here for about a year, and greatly appreciate Matt and everyone who contributes here with so much great information.

My first cruise was a last minute (well, two weeks before) booking to Alaska last August, joining my sister and her family...where I caught the cruising bug big time (the Casino Royale offers helped).

Last week I booked for myself the July 4th Anthem group cruise, which looks really good, and I have a few questions about that.

Is there a area here for discussion for group members here?  I have seen the FB posting with some comments.

I have purchased the DBP w/ Zoom (no Surf).  I have read here a few times that people say that the internet on Anthem is very good.  I do not do streaming much (maybe a some youtubes), but do check email, FB, and websites often.  Will I go crazy with just Zoom, without Surf/Stream?

I have also purchased the BOGO 2 Night Dining package (for the first two nights).  Does anyone know if I could choose Wonderland as one of my options?  I believe when I get on board, I can adjust the first nights restaurant.

    Thanks

    Ken (from NJ)
