We snorkeled at C.Cay without fins with our older teenage boys. We are a family of lifeguards though, OK Mom and Dad are older lifeguards. No Baywatch here folks. You will cover a lot more ground with the fins. The snorkeling was fun but not next level so be ready for that. It is a great free activity. Even sold out the shack may have fins for you, and I thought lifevests were hanging on a rack free for the taking. Don't quote me on the lifevests that might have been elsewhere. Maybe a more experienced person will have intel on the vests. Diehard Pats fan as well! Mac forever!

Another tip is to note the price you pay for everything in the planner. They send you an email, but the planner only says that you purchased this on that date. I wish the planner would give you the price or had some kind of running tally. 1st world issues to be sure! Enjoy!

The ice skating show was great and the lads loved the novelty of skating on a ship. The MDR staff was also top notch, enjoy it!

Another factor, they don't give away much on board for free. If you need to buy it on ship or port it is likely going to be at a premium. Bring your necessaries, plenty of room in your cabin, this one area cruises differ from land vacations.

We walked happily up to the fort and staircase. Having said that none of our party has mobility issues. If we did the walk it would be challenging. Nassau's roads and sidewalks are not up to stateside standards. Because we walked we don't have a ground transportation recommendation. The staircase and fort are great "freeish" attractions , as local fees apply. I wouldn't move heaven and earth to get there though. Love your adventuresome spirit!

In Dec. of 2019 the rental shack said they had removed the plane. I'm not sure it was true, as the staff didn't have a great poker face. Going back in April and we are strong swimmers, so would love to know if the plane is still around. They have some artificial reef material off the snorkel shack beach. I'm hopeful that will create some better snorkeling. We found a lot of Eel grass and not much coral. It is kind of a treasure hunt, look for the congregation of people. Good luck! Any time in the water is good for us!

Sounds cool would you go right up the Mighty Mississippi? When the bride and I retire we are looking at getting a small travel trailer and heading West. Mackinac is on the list. Never been there and we want to go Isle Royal as well. The least visited National Park in the lower 48. It feels good to talk travel and normalcy. Sounds like you work in healthcare, we salute you!

The above option looked fun but we want spectator snorkeling. We are resigned to Royal only excursions due to Covid. The group is comprised of three middle aged married couples, so no kids anymore. If you have a better snorkeling option through Royal we would appreciate it. Also looking for anyone that has tried this excursion to comment. Thanks!

On Allure December 2020 we couldn't get into Costa Maya because the NCL ship was pinned against the dock by waves. We cruised right up to the port and you could see the waves crashing on the ship. It was a rough sea day with the pools and tubs splashing over. My wife is prone to motion sickness and we stayed topside which worked out for her with some meds. We did our 4 mile walk on the track and it felt more like 5 with all the stumbling, note no booze yet that day.

Hello fellow cruiseheads, How are the cabanas assigned? When we purchased an on land beach club cabana the person on the phone couldn't give us a cabana number. We have looked at Matt's map of the CocoCay cabanas and would prefer an ocean front one. When will we know our cabana number? Thanks!

We are full tilt vacationers, the lads say "we don't take vacations, we go on trips." We are on an empty nest cruise for the first time with two other couples that are dear friends. I'm trying to tone it down a bit and take things slower. Smell the flowers and relax. This could happen and fall under something new to try or more than likely will be a never happen. I think I need a relaxation coach!
