    • If you're not in the water, have a shirt and shorts on / do your best to keep covered up without looking like a vampire

As a fellow Scot, I have to say I've gotten to nearly full vampire look many times. I'm just happier the next day. I swim in a long sleeve shirt always, and I *never* stand/sit/hang out in the sun -- always aim for the shade! Also, SPF 15 is not enough.

You'll never see any of these people again, so who cares if they think you're crazy ?

Right, but "Bridge, Galley & Backstage Tours" is listed as a benefit for Grand Suite and up on non Q and O ships too. Do we just ask the Suite Lounge Concierge?

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-are-the-benefits-of-the-suites-program

You will get an invitation to participate in a tour of some sort. They have actually varied over our last 5, non-Oasis, GS cruises. It will be on an at sea day, usually later in the trip. The Concierge may or may not know for sure what will be offered until the day before. It depends on what crew members are available to do the tours.

. I would like to get this stateroom also seated at the same table. Does anyone know how I would go about do so?

In this case you’ll need to call Royal and get the reservations linked. You’ll need the reservation number (and possibly the birthdate of the primary) of that fourth cabin. Or they may have to call in to confirm after your request. Better to do it ahead than onboard since you have a larger group.

Does anyone have any information about drinks packages on sailings on Spectrum out of Shanghai? We are sailing July on a 5 night then 4 night back to back cruise. There's nothing on my cruise planner and information from Facebook sites, my travel agent and RCL online chat has been at best confusing or they say they just don't know.

All we want to know is can we book a drinks package and at what price.

    Any information appreciated, thank you

I am booked on B2B Spectrum out of Hong Kong in December. For my first cruise, drink packages are available; for the second they are not. Pricing right now stands at:

    Classic Soda: $8.99/pp

    Refreshment: $26/pp

    Deluxe: $50/pp

    Coffee: $31/pp

The packages showed up about 3 weeks ago, no price changes so far.

    * What did you do about new luggage tags?  (assuming you don't have a printer and got news the day before the cruise)

There is a spot (usually right where taxis drop off, depending on the pier) where someone will scan your setsail pass and print a bag tag right there. This is also useful if one of your bags loses its tag during transit!

I have a hard time because I wear dresses most of the time. Money belt/passport holder don't work. Starting to panic about how bad everyone says Rome and Barcelona are with pick pockets.  I will likely wear a pick under my dress or a cross body that zips and has the cut prevent straps.  In the Caribbean I usually carry them in my waterproof passport carrier in my tote bag.  Jane

Honestly I wouldn’t even take them off the boat in Rome or Barcelona. Just carry a copy. Unless that’s where you’re boarding...

Thanks but I don't want to take the family of 5 to Chops.  Plus hubby and I are on a cruise the week before and will have lobster but kids are joining us for the Empress and one wants some lobster.

Last couple of trips I've been on there has been an option to purchase lobster in the MDR as an upsell at least one night, so that maybe a solution as well if there's no regular lobster night.

  8. So... I'm looking at my options for my upcoming Spectrum sailing, and I see *3* internet choices -- VOOM Surf (9.99), VOOM Surf + Stream (12.99), and VOOM Hi Speed (18.00). Can anyone who has tried the Hi Speed (maybe on Quantum?)  tell me if it is better/faster/stronger than S+S?

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but this is the only thing I've seen that mentions Hi Speed.

Is there a business center on Anthem of the Seas?  My husband might possibly need an actual  computer a day or two. We each bought the key which gives us one device with internet each, so my next question would be.... If we have our laptop can we use whatever internet code we have on either device?  Then we won't need the business center.

Yes, you can use your code for any device that connects to the ship's wifi. My husband brings his laptop all the time. Also, he can switch between his laptop and his phone with the same code -- just log out with one before you log into the other.

    Hope that helps!

I highly recommend Kennedy Space Center. You'll never get another chance to see a Space Shuttle and Saturn V in the same place.

Instead of an excursion you can get an Uber from the port to KSC and buy your own tickets. It's probably less expensive that way.

Icon is OK (some nice restaurants there) but I couldn't make a day out of it.

    +1

Since I've read about so many peoples love of sea days, I was wondering.

Do they have such a thing as a cruise without any ports of call?

Simply out and back with all sea days?

If so, has anybody ever been on one, or willing to take one? And how long would you be willing to sail?

I have seen a couple of "cruise to nowhere" type trips over the years, usually a one-off to get the ship on a new schedule, and mostly 1-3 nights. For example, there are 2-night Sampler Cruises right now out of Sydney.

I used to think I wouldn't like a trip like that because I'm still all about the ports of call, but as I age... um, get more experienced, I could see the draw ?

It seems rather vague when "suggesting" what to wear at the different places on our cruise ship. We will be on Symphony of the Seas in a couple weeks and our family is doing a 3 night dinner package. I was planning on wearing jeans to these with a collared shirt, but now am worried maybe that isn't dressy enough. However my family hates dressing up at all on vacation lol. What should teenagers wear? Obviously no swim ware but are jeans and a collared shirt ok?

Oh, you'll be totally fine with that plan! Really the only thing that gets "enforced" is the swinwear/no shoes prohibition in the dining areas. Enjoy!

Haven't seen that bring new ppl get points ever. They user to give you $25 OBC for that...but they even cut that incentive.

Happened for us in 2012 on Serenade in the Med. Maybe Royal was testing it and decided not to continue?
