With that savings i say YOLO, book another cruise!!!

Whatever latitude you give your son to "wander" at home is appropriate for on the ship. It all depends on the individual's maturity level (some would argue that I shouldn't be allowed to wander on my own at 55).

Because there are idiots out there that can't drive or pay attention ? 

I have The Key for my sailing on Mariner next Monday - I can report back what I find, although it might not answer questions for those sailing on the Oasis-class ships.  But I'll tell  you what I know from my sailling anyway.

OMG, how I PRAY that they are removing Cats from Oasis during her dry dock.  

I was stuck inside for a snow day today....counting days until march 24...and rebooked at $47 a day for our allure trip.  I had already booket at $49 but $28 is $28!  Interestingly for this trip, the only thing that went down was that deluxe drink pkg for $2 less a day.  Everything else is same price or higher than I booked previously.  The 12 day vision greek/med cruise is still at $55 a day, which I totally won't do...we will either book on day 5 (the first sea day) on ship, or just hope for a drink card.  My husband just wont break even on a long cruise and I can't pay over 1200 just for the convenience of prepaying!  Jane

This is a personal question.  Like 'should I get a drink package' or 'dining package'  or 'photo package'.  
You can cruise and have a great time without buying a drink package, dining package, photo package, internet package (Voom) or The Key. 
If you tend to buy Voom and like to be 'connected' that's a big part of the Key.  If you like to show up and skirt long lines and have special access for some people that is golden, others not so much.  
I really can't tell you "yes, you NEED the Key"  or " No Way!"  no more than I can tell you MUST book a balcony or suite over an inside cabin.    We all cruise differently.   

When you purchase the key, it is per person, meaning one device per person.

I just checked my Cruise Planner for our May 18th voyage on the Symphony and "The Key" is no longer offered. I assume that means they hit their quota. It would be interesting to know how many were sold.

We looked more closely at it this weekend as we were deciding on the deluxe drink package (currently $49/person). Since we were planning on getting at least VOOM for one device, and possibly two, with the drink package/VOOM combo ($60/person), it made the decision to purchase the Key ($19.99/person) much easier. It's effectively only $9/day more per person for all of the other perks!

Boarding Indy this week I observed under 50 boarding after suites when the Key was called.  Some Key guests may arrive after initial boarding.   
Like FTTF (former Carnival cruise here) they don’t publish numbers either.  
Only time will tell.  

In theory, yes.  On the trial I participated in on Oasis I was told the cap was 100, subject to review as the program advanced.  
The truth is we don’t know.  If Royal finds this successful and determines the impact is minimal they will likely review that number and possibly increase it.  

Hi @Erika1971! I can only give a recommendation for St. Maarten, as that's the only one of those three islands I've been to. We booked a day trip with Soualiga Destinations, spent the day boating all around the island and seeing both the French and Dutch sides. Trip includes two snorkeling stops, two beach stops (one on nearby Pinel island), lunch, and beverages. Was a great time that my family of four really enjoyed.

@WAAAYTOOO I'm reporting that the lobster on Anthem in Coastal Kitchen was excellent, I even had scallops with it. ?

  Can anyone please provide "to do's" in both ports? I'm excited about my upcoming cruise and would love to be proactive, if I could in planning my ITIN for the ports.. Anything is helpful.  Local taxis, excursions, places not to go etc.. Thank you all so much. 

Awesome, would love to see the Cruise Compasses and the MDR menus.  I will be going on this in itinerary in April.

I will doing this exact same itinerary on Adventure in April for my honeymoon!  Looking forward to it especially after reading this.  This will be my first RC cruise.
