  1. Yes, the escalation will just continue and you’ll be wanting to book a Royal Loft Suite.
  2. I have done lots of bookings with Costco, but our November sailing will be the last. It has been impossible to get ahold of them, and being limited service they aren’t helpful. At least in RC’s lines you can wait on hold, with Costco it’s just been “due to unprecedented call volume, we can not take your call” and the system hangs up. and there’s no way to communicate over email with them. MEI travel supports @Matt by sponsoring the blog, and several of their agents hang out in the message boards, @michelle, @AnnetteJackson among others.
  3. I think as with any economics class, it really depends on the value of the money over time. Us for example took the April cancelled FCC (which didn’t arrive till late May) and applied it to a sailing in November. Between late May and first week of November nowhere else would I be guaranteed to make 25% on my money.
  4. No problem, and be sure to have a good travel agent that can help through those steps in case you need to cancel.
  5. That must be a non-us chart. We’ll never get back to Cuba this year ?
  6. As others have mentioned, if you’ve spent a billion dollars on vessel that moves, you are going to take it elsewhere. So if you have a western Caribbean itinerary they may move it to an Eastern Caribbean. Or they may flip ports so that things outside of the storm are done first allowing the storm to pass.
  7. I’ve seen some videos of crew members being asked if they want to remain on quantum as that ship appears (fingers crossed) on July 1st.
  8. One thing I didn’t think about till booking a cruise the other day is how CWC changes the math on refundable/non-refundable deposits. It makes it much easier to have non-refundable placeholders in for next year.
  9. Yes, you would be able to cancel. However, you would need to book before August 1st as that is currently the date the program ends. Concerned about traveling? Looking for flexibility in your plans? As of May 6, 2020, our enhanced Cruise with Confidence program gives you even more flexibility. Whether you’re already booked on a cruise, or are thinking about it, we want you to Cruise with Confidence. That’s why Royal Caribbean will let you cancel any cruise that sets sail from now through April 30, 2022. Whether it’s a booking you already have or one you make right now through August 1, 2020, you’re covered. As long as you cancel at least 48 hours before your sail date, you’ll receive a Future Cruise Credit. The credit is valid through December 31, 2021 or 12 months from your original canceled sail date (whichever is longer) and can be used for any open sailings at the time of booking. As of May 6, 2020 we have also added the new "Best Price Guarantee" and "Lift and Shift" options outlined below. If you opted into our Cruise with Confidence program before May 6, please learn more about that program here.
  10. We keep getting closer to that move to Florida everyday. Gotta get away from MD state taxes, and I’m down there enough it doesn’t make sense to live up here.
  11. They were delicious, but super expensive. But everything at Baha Mar was expensive.
  12. We’ve toyed with that room as well as the space looks great, I think if I was on a very port intensive cruise (like Freedom out of San Juan) I’d like it better. It would be a slam dunk if they would have rolled out the Royal Suites Class program on the Freedom class. Do you think you would get much benefit out of the Suites Lounge?
  13. Could be worse. I’m pretty sure the most well composed picture I’ve ever taken happens to be one of a hot dog stand. So keep rocking the ultra wide ones.
  14. How much do you really need the balcony? also, how much difference will the full fledged suite perks make?
  15. Those weird pricing quirks never made sense to me. For our Oasis sailing this November the 1BR grand suites and 2 BR grand suites as the exact same amount.
  16. We described our first carnival cruise as what would happen if Barney the Purple Dinosaur decide to open up a gentlemen’s club.
  17. I’ve been holding out hope for year round school here in MD with breaks peppered throughout the year. Would make cruising much cheaper to not have to worry about peak times.
  18. Maybe today is the day for a mental break where rather than working I pretend I’m at CocoCay all day.
  19. If you search around someone on the message boards had put together a calculator where you can input all of your estimated drinks and see what your breakeven will be.
  20. There’s lots of good choices, really depends if you have a brand of choice and what area. The Hilton Marina is right near the port. There’s a new Le Meridien by the airport and if you are looking to be near Las Olas and lots of dining we liked the Hyatt Centric Las Olas.
